My purple Malawi mother. She went 13 days between drinks last time. She got a trimming and a super drench. As soon as she gets under a week between drinks she'll be going in flower.

That is a mighty fine looking purple malawi. I can't wait to see her go. I bought one seed a few years ago.... what do they go for like 18 or twenty dollars? But those genetics...I had to try it.

I stared at a 4 inch pot of soil for 2 weeks and finally dug down to see that the seed had rotted. One of the only times I have had a seed fail to germinate.

MAN! I have been staring at UD's for a long time. I can just see the UD genetics in # 2 and #3. They have those fat fingers.

It's got a nice citrus smell that leans mostly toward lime. It's around 7 weeks right now. I've been thinking another 2-3 weeks.

Disclaimer, I start counting flower from pistols, not switch to 11/13. It seems most people count from flip. The time they take to show varies, even with the same cut by a few days normally, so I count that way to be consistent with my records.

The purple Malawi is just one I got from a 5 pack from Ace. I got lucky and got it my first Malawi seed I popped a couple of years ago. She's got a really weak root system. I've had her slowly filling that tote with roots for a couple of months now. Once she gets under a week between drinks, she'll go into flower. I've been pruning her back to keep an even canopy. She'd probably be twice the height right now if I'd have just let her go.

I'm wanting to try UD but so far, I've gotten 2 males and 1 dud. I'm cramped on space in veg until it warms up outside and I can get all my veggies and outdoor plants out. Then it's going to be time to test some of these crosses properly. I'm thinking either 6 or 12 a shot. Probably 6 so that I can run two at once and not get overwhelmed. 30+ plants in veg gets to be a bit much to juggle.

How do you deal with the poor roots? I have a sativa that has always been a pain to grow but she has grown large before. I think it may be weak roots.

I've had her in a 17 gallon since I think around the first of the year. For about 3 weeks, I only gave her about a pint or so every day to build the roots by the surface and the rest of the time has just been Doc's wet/dry cycle. When I first put them in the totes they normally go a good 4 weeks before they need a drink. For the kit users here, I've started giving them recharge and ewc about every 6 weeks even in veg, just to keep them from running out of steam.

Normally, she'll have maybe half the pot full of roots and I've been getting a bunch of popcorn because of it. This time she's going to go big!

You may want to ask Doc about so much recharge. He suggested I use 3rd run amendment for my 2nd recharge on the sativas.
 
My clone of cannatonic has really perked up since I I up potted her this week into a 5 gallon bucket.

Ultra Dawg male in the flower room, getting ready for his turn to shine. Purple Malawi and both phenos of strange brew are getting pollinated. I decided to make more of the purple cross after seeing how well my first batch are doing.

It's a wimpy little cut. This is the first clone from my original. It's been vegging for at least 2-3 months and has at least another if not two before it's ready to go into flower. I'm trying to keep this one thinned a bit. It grows to bushy and dense for the size.

Same here, I am constantly pruning her up. I really would dump it but the wife actually likes it a lot. She uses it quite regularly. The guy who gave it to me just had it tested again and it came back at 20% cbd and less than 1% thc so it has it's uses. I just hate how long I have to veg it.

Yea, I've considered dropping it myself due to that and the early bubba hash is going great as a high CBD strain for myself. The straight CBD has had me holding on to it. Plus the orange flavor is pretty cool. We'll see.

I have a CBD critical cure in flower that is coming along nicely as well, but unless it really stands out, I think I'm going to stick with the EBH. I've been smoking a bowl of it before sleep. It helps me fall asleep when I'm lying down and I'm wanting to add CBD to my daily supplements I'm taking.
 
They carnival got cut today. I had a couple of friends over and I decided to break out the bubble bags for their first run.

With the carnival getting cut, it opened up room to move my purple Malawi into flower. I think she's ready. She's down to 9 days between drinks.
