Mono's Perpetual Soil

Hey Mono, with this outdoor season I let betsy flower out for awhile as you know.. I noticed, the further into 12/12 she gets if not harvested before say 50-60%% amber trichs I started noticing the trichs and nugs were beginning to lose the oily stickiness, drying out.
Just an observation on my part. So with that said, I would think beginning flushes around beginning of amber would be what we should shoot for to preserve the oils that are being produced.. hmm.. sorry kind of off topic I have began flushing the sages at 43 days today, I am thinking a week early but, we will see in the near future! :Namaste: your girls are looking mighty fine!

I see, very interesting stuff! Think I am going to have to do some more reading up on this...

you better watch out you might turn into a weed nerd and end up at place like this all day. there's a cool mag Medicating your self if you can find it.

Sage is a fast grower 8-10 weeks and loves to clone

Had a bit of a power cut this morning, so took it as a good time to check all the connections etc that run the tent. Noticed that the timer is getting warm to the touch, not hot, just warm. Also the socket part of the extension lead has a very slight heat after a couple of hours on.

Is this normal? Really don't want to start a fire, also don't want to have to change too many things at this stage in the grow.

Will do a good update later on today, along with some pics :)

Hey buddy, I think I've said it a few times on here already lol. but when I did loads of auto's in past; they were always tricky to get amber from at first. I eventually found out that you simply leave a lot longer. I had some go 13-14 weeks sometimes! The plants would look dead! As in all the fans leaves would of naturally dropped off on their own! Most other leaves had yellowed significantly. Generally the plant would look like crap. This is when you get amber on auto's in my opinion. Also the point when their smoke really can rival any Photo strains :)
The point they state for a time frame is simply when you have a viable amount of bud to smoke. Not really how long it takes to hit that sweet spot! Just my little thoughts, I did loads of them in past though. :)

Don't think I could be bothered running lights 18/6 for 13 or 14 weeks lol. Would be easier, and cheaper to run photos on a months veg I think. Certainly in my set up haha.

Today is day 10 of flowering. Plants have been on 12/12 for 23 days, but we will count from the 1ss day of 2014.

Gave the ladies another trim, and a feeding of p/k 13/14 at double strength. I will add the flowering nutes next time, although they contain some N so will see if I can get away with using more of the p/k 13/14.

Ahh, thanks for the input CA! Would hate to loose the sticky feeling from the buds. Although, I wonder if it would make hash production easier with them being less sticky.

You started early on the flush with those Sages, are you looking at three weeks or so for them to use up their reserves?

So here they are, flowering day 10.

Only a few times to be honest on that one. I used DP for their auto strains Think Diff, Snow Storm etc. I trained everyone, topped everyone. Had some get bigger than Gitt is my flux girl. I got 7 off a TD and 6.5 off a Snow Storm. They went ages as said 14 weeks or so.
They just aint worth the fuss in my opinion with the time and also the variance of what you can get off say 10 of the same strain. Some ones I'd get like 6-7 plants out of 10 that all looked like different strains! It took me a couple of years playing with them to get it down with Auto's. Then went Photo and haven't looked back! You get way more control and guarantee of getting good weight. :)

Interesting you say they took the training and topping, totally against the grain when talking about auto's. Seems like it is possible to make them produce, just hard work haha.

I found exactly the same thing, three of the same strain, grown the same way. Totally different plants. I think breeders need to do a little more work stabilizing them...
