Mmmmick 1st Scrog 3 strains 90w LED closet

soory to hear about the mold issue. But hey you got good buds and a lesson learned. Cant wait to see how the next batch comes out.

Thanks Butcher, yep lesson learned. Mold can happen so damn fast. Got a couple of changes for the new closet.
Thanks for dropping in.

Thanks weedtastic, yeah the scrog is good. Some tweaking required but I think it can be managed. Our conversation re fresh air has convinced me to draw intake from the attic to ensure the plants get lots of fresh O2 instead of relying on the recirculated air in the house.
Also need more space under the screen for maintenance or at least 360 degree access to the underside.
I thought I might try to minimize nutes to see if it helps things stink a little, but I'd prefer to use a light dose regularly. The Botanicare nutes are supposed to be organic.

:thankyou:
hi mate...i think your girls will love the freash air....organic nutes at last ha ha...funny you mention smell .......my hydr guy had run outta my regular booster so he suggested bloombastic it was £30 instead of my regular price of £50 for the bio heaven.....it mentions smell...ill go get the clipping....1 min hehe ..........Features & Benefits
-Targets the plants energy needed at a cellular level.
-Will provide an explosion of sugar and flower production as well as a massive production of resin crystals.
-A substantial final weight increase is the net result of the above two points.
-This product will also help the enzyme process on several levels and that will help your plants deal with stress factors such as high heat levels, dry air, high light intensity, disease, and nutrient deficiencies.
-Using Bloombastic will also ensure a soft sweet flavor and aroma of the bloom.
You can use BLOOMBASTIC on all substrates, as:
(Potting)soil; Coco (compressed and welled up); Rockwool (surfaces and cubes); Mapito; Quantigo....................intresting read mate and still organic....it goes further to say it works out 8 pence a feed so not overly expensive.....just thought id share..........be lucky weedtastic

Thanks weedtastic. I just finished checking out the Bloombastic link you put up. The stuff sounds great and has a heavy P-K punch. I don't mind a little expense up front when it takes so little per liter, goes a long way.
I use bat guano at 0-15-1 but could use some help with the K, and Bloombastic is available in Canada. I'll keep it in mind for next round. Talked to the hydro guy about the smell issue when I was busy paying too much for mylar and PH buffers. He said Botanicare shouldn't have any negative impact on smell. I'm tending more and more toward a lack of fresh air being the cause.

hi mate...just a thought are you in organic soil ?.....is it too late to transplant before flower....im thinking you won t need much if those clones are established ?........i hope it is the freash air issue re smell......and not the summer temps while in flower first run ?.....ive read some say best harvests are in the summer months even indoors....and some rubbish those claims too....you look set to go soon mate can t wait........sorry for adding to your load........i know your busy building........or at least you shud be ha ha.......be lucky weedtastic

Hay Mmmmick, just checking in, Gosh if I miss a day or two on your journal I fall 4 or 5 pages behind. Lots of interest and information, thanks and great job...

Hi weedtastic.
I'm using pro-mox with dolomite lime. It's not labelled organic but is a commonly used mix. I don't think any shortcomings can be attributed to the soil.
My next set of plants are all starting to stink up the spare bedroom after the last repot a few weeks ago into 2 gallon pots. They have only had water. Sheep manure was added to the soil at repotting. I'm going to start using a 25% strength Botanicare feed next watering and see if the smell drops off.
I might repot into the larger pot sizes before flowering as I have room for 3 bigger pots, but not 4. The roots on the current crop aren't rootbound but did penetrate throughout the soil mix. If they were vegged much longer I might have had some pot size issues.
I don't have an opinion on summer grows being better but it could be due to temps or better air flow during those warm months. Wonder if it's valid?
Yeah I'm going to take clones form the Super Skunk in a day or two and get that 126w grow going. I'll be flowering the 90w grow after a few weeks of veg under the screen. No shortcuts this time, lol. If I jump the gun feel free to slap me upside the head, lol.
SLow progress on the build, I was more productive before this last harvest, dunno why that is? heheh:rasta:

Hi sonzor good to see you. It's those big pictures taking up lots of page space, heheh. I've been a little slack for a few days. Hope to get onboard more regularly soon, I've been lagging a bit on making the rounds to all those wonderful grows I'm watching.
Thanks for hangin in and for your comments and observations.

Just a few pics and a quickie update.

The Afi's are dried and jarred for curing. Dried weight was 29 grams from 2 plants(popcorn included, I'm gonna smoke it so I weighed it, lol), maybe 4 or 5g's lost to mold. A little better than the first run on that strain. I'm not entirely satisfied with the grow, a few things that need changing but it went much smoother than the newb grow.

AN early smoke test is less harsh than the first run, these plants had a decent flush while the first run didn't. The effects are pretty much the same, more head than body but both runs were harvested early. The stone is solid, lasts around 2 and a half to 3 hours. Buds are smallish as expected, the largest are inch and a half to 2 inches. I was looking for more buds rather than big buds. Maybe play with that down the road.
The smell and taste are marginally better but not close to their potential, potency is as good. Plants ready for my next run are stinking up the spare bedroom so I know there should be a significant smell on these finished plants. A decent cure might bring that back somewhat.

Some pics. The overall pic from Afi 1 was trashed so I only have the pic from Afi 2. They looked about the same in any event. Sorry about all the loose bits in pic 1, I dried too fast due to mold concerns and didn't rehydrate so the sugar leaves are on the crisp side. Oh yeah, the bag weighs 2.5 grams.

Now the BC Big Bud pics.

Dried fast same as the Afi's due to mold concerns. Weight 15g's, maybe 2 g's went to mold a while back, probably a couple of grams of sugar leaves took their trichs into the shake bag. Sugar leaves all ended up in the shake, because they were so dry I finger trimmed so they wouldn't just powder up during the cure. Probably should have been more gentle with them and rehydrated but I didn't and that's all she wrote, lol. So the shake is probably pretty good, some day I'll need a set of bags. for now I'm just freezing it.
Smoke test is less harsh as explained in my previous post. Good head stone with some body but no couchlock. Lasts close to 3 hours. A little early in the chop this time also. Fricken newbies just won't learn, huh?
This was the runt and LST'ed in a half circle. Added to the screen to fill a corner and never really had the veg time to straighten up and develope as well as it should have. My impatience probably cut yield on this plant significantly. I'm gonna have to go again, lol.

couple of pics.
Comments welcome.
