Thanks HGL, I'm always open to ways to improve.
I think the 126w will be a big help in doing so.

I set it up over my clones to get them to the point where they can be cloned for the next grow and at 12" the clones started to wilt so I backed it off to about 20" to give them an acclimatization period. They look better today, coming back fine. I'll move it down over a week or so as they adjust. The light is visually much whiter than I expected.
At a quick estimate I still feel the 90 degree leds would give a more uniform spread of light but I don't have it over a screen so thats just a crude assesment of coverage.(and of course 90 degree lens may not even be available)
I'll let the grow determine what works, no bias on coverage or light dispersion, the human eye can be very easily fooled.
 
Those buds are looking amazing. You are doing a great job. Keep it up.. Sticky, icky for sure..

Sounds great MI, best of luck. I would give them your regular veg nutes for a week or two. Once they start to stretch they'll be craving N. Or give them 50/50 veg/flower nutes. Seems a lot of nute suppliers split the difference for the transition phase.

I feel the same (green with envy) when I see how great your plants look in that island sunshine. Especially now that they are starting to fill those long leaves with trichs.

I'm only about 5 inches above the pot, but my plants are sort of small. I think 8 inches is what most people use. Do you have the plants in their final pots now? If you are close to flowering but the plants are still not to the screen yet you might want put something under them to raise them to screen height but I would leave the screen as is. You might want the height next time you use it.

i thought 12" was normal? is it hard for you to water that low? i am trying to decide it i want to grow 2 big a$$ monsters next or 2 plants SCROG? ive always wanted to grow a tree.:grinjoint:

I've seen anywhere from 6 to 12 inches. Strain probably has a lot to do with it. My plants don't get very big so 12" wouldn't work for me but I could see an HID user needing that kind of height.
I don't know if leds are best suited for tall plants but I have an urge to grow one or two long flowering sativas under scrog just to see how they work out. Maybe the HGL leds with narrower light dispersion can punch the light deep enough for tall girls. I've only got about 5'5" headroom in my current area.

ya i would deff lollipop them when they got that tall to get light hiting all bud sites. i think i might get better yeild from SCROG maybe. i dont know ive seen both yeild alot

Scrog is probably the best way to improve yield. Even hid growers could improve their take by scrogging altho most go with natural shaped plants. Scrogs are catching on tho.
I think the trade off is the issue. Choice between big colas or more budsites. I top and supercrop for more sites but most people seem to like the big nugs.
re watering under a low screen, I just use a piece of flexible plastic hose, slips over the end of my watering can and gives good control, no splashing plants with ferts.
 
i took a 5 gal bucket and drilled a hole in the bottom, put a 10' hose on it with a on off valve and use gravity to water my plants, works great. then i took some washer machine trays and drilled some holes in the middle raise the trays with milk crates put a 3gal pucket under it and all the water drains from the trays into the 3gal buket and a few hours latter i empty the bucket and i am done. works realy good.
