Mmmmick 1st Scrog 3 strains 90w LED closet

i took a 5 gal bucket and drilled a hole in the bottom, put a 10' hose on it with a on off valve and use gravity to water my plants, works great. then i took some washer machine trays and drilled some holes in the middle raise the trays with milk crates put a 3gal pucket under it and all the water drains from the trays into the 3gal buket and a few hours latter i empty the bucket and i am done. works realy good.

yeah your setup is straightforward and simplifies the whole cycle. Mine has a slght tilt and the runoff goes into a plastic pan. It's a little awkward for flushing but works ok. A few extra trips to the sink. I could definitely make it all higher and slip some sort of pan under, If I can find a fit.

Hey Mmmick did you get your HG light yet? Its so much easier to see under the HG light then under the UFO's. I am only using 1 of my HG LEDs to flower a small area and am still using the 2 UFO's in the cab but I am seriously considering removing the two UFO's and putting in a HG Led in their place.

Your screen looks great! How long did you veg them for, what week are you in now, and what nutes are you using?

Hi Bux, yeah I received it on Friday. put it over my clones so they can step it up a notch. At this point they are too small to clone for my next grow but shouldn't be too long. I had to give them a couple of days to get used to the new led. They looked pretty limp for a day or two. I haven't put them under full time yet as they still showed a little droop in spots after a few sessions. Maybe today they'll be ready to stay under the 126w.
The light is much whiter than the UFO so it's easier to get a feel for what the plants are doing imo. Pics don't register quite as red or purple either. The clones seem to be bulking up after only a couple of partial sessions. I have a feeling this 126 is superior to the UFO but I had no problem with vegging under UFO's and I'm not entirely turned off using them for flowering for that matter. I'll keep mine and probably continue to flower a second screen with it for now at least. I can see it becoming veg only in the near future.
My clones were all different ages, from 5-6 weeks to 2 plus months but they were under a couple of 20 watt tubes and very slow developing. I wasn't trying to rush them, just keep them green.
Thanks Bux. currently at 6 weeks 1 day. I'm using Botanicare Pure Blend Pro nutes, just started adding molasses again. also a little Super Thrive. I'm still having trouble with the Afi's and the BC Big Bud is showing some signs of overfeeding as well so I flushed this weekend and have gone to water and a little sheep manure as a tea. I may stick with that the rest of the way, with molasses.
I was just about to check your update when I saw your post. Heading there now.

I know its a lot easier to get a sense of whats going on under these LED's. My plants put on a fair amount of girth after I switched to the 126. I am going to use the UFOs for veg only after this grow because they do a pretty good job vegging. Either that or I am going to use the UFO's for the mother area and buy 1 more HG for veg. Your UFO does really nice so I can see why you would keep flowering with it. They seem to work pretty well in a Scrog setup. How much trouble is it to Scrog different strains together like that?

Well these strains have been pretty easy other than the Afi's sensitivity to nutes. They were difficult first time around also. I'm trying to get a clone from a different Afi cross to see if it is any more tolerant. I think the Super Skunk could have been a handful if it wasn't LST'ed in a circle. (really slowed the plant down when I decided to scrog them) Seems to want to fill the screen on it's own. I'm hoping it is worth carrying into my next grow with the 126w. But I have no idea how it will smoke so I'm going to have to do up clones from all 3 strains and make my final choice after a smoke test.
I would definitely go with a scrog for the UFO's they have such a wide dispersion angle. I'd like to have been able to get a 90 degree 126w, but the 60 will do for now. I expect to scrog all grows from here on.

I was hoping scrogging more then 1 strain would not be very hard. I plan on using some of those canopy fittings with electrical conduit in my tent to support all my lights and make an adjustable scrog screen. With the way these LEDs work a scrog/sog will be wonderful and will most likely produce the most bud per watt. How did you end up getting the 60?

If your strains are mixed sativa or indica dominant there might be some issues but one or the other would just require a tweak in the training method. I requested the 60 degree dispersion to try to max out coverage on a screen of my size and still keep the light within proper distance.
If you are using 30 degree leds you might find the scrog spreads things out a little too wide. I think the 30's are best for naturally shaped plants as they'll punch the light deeper.

I got the 60 degree angle on all of mine. I am going to have to either mount a bigger 4 inch exhaust fan and filter or buy a lower power light for this cab before I start the next run. I really dont want to have to keep the doors open like I currently have to. I think the guys at sunlight sheds didnt do enough research before selling this cab because if they did they would have put a better exhaust fan in it.

You'll probaby be fine scrogging with the 60's, I sure hope so or I'll own a less than useful led because I intend to scrog everything I grow.
Is there any restriction on your intake? Can't imagine why they would sell a tent that can't clear the heat. They're just asking for a bad rep.

the tent is great its the stupid cab from sunlight sheds that sucks. I dont grow really tall plants so for me there was no point buying the 30s

sorry,:ganjamon: I understood which gear you meant, my bad nomenclature.

Yeah I like them stumpy, smaller buds but more of them. I do love those big cola pics but with one low wattage led it helps to be somewhat realistic.
You'll be pumping those colas out with all those 126's.

my 90 watt doesnt cover my area 30inx23in. Is it ok to just add some cfls. Does it conflict with the led frequencies?

btw how to i get the name of my journal to post instead of the url

Hi wct, I've seen grows using cfl's with led and the buds looked great. I sure there are areas of overlap but I haven't seen any ill effects demonstrated.

hey your link works now, cool.

ummm I never found out. Soniq just fixed it for me one day. Very observant of him.

Sounds great MI, best of luck. I would give them your regular veg nutes for a week or two. Once they start to stretch they'll be craving N. Or give them 50/50 veg/flower nutes. Seems a lot of nute suppliers split the difference for the transition phase.

Thanks bro,
I haven't given them any nutes in a week, just started 12/12 3 days ago. I'll do that with their next watering...

:peace: & Love from the Glove

My 1st grow

Thats what I am hoping for. The two in the tent are really taking off. I think I am able to see flower sites already. They may be squat plants but the stems are really thick. I love big colas too but I dont know how practical it is to grow those.

I am really glad I didnt pay full price for the mini cool cab. Maybe some of the other turn key models from other companies would be better but who knows. I must say some of the 126w grows seem to grow fairly tall plants with big colas pretty nice. I dont know if a UFO would perform the same or not with the wide angle lens. I would think it wouldnt but I dont have enough experience to say for sure.
