The Hempy bucket is passive hydro. Some call it "shallow water culture," others call it an "Internal reservoir pot."

Its a bucket, with one drain hole, 2 inches from the bottom, on the side. Imagine filling the bucket up with water...it drips out hole until there is a 2 inch deep reservoir at the bottom of the bucket.

The medium is Perlite/vermiculite, which wicks up a good deal of moisture.

That's it! No airstones, no pumps, no lines. Just pots full of perlite.

It works very well.

This next shot is of the formerly "sickest" (dictionary version of sick, as in ill) plant. I've got a little overnute sitchyashun. They all got watered the same, non of the others have it....but here you see the "Claw" and some leaves that don't look happy. There are also purple petioles on this plant, which have gotten better, concurrent with the over-nute problem. The roots of this plant were damaged when it was younger and it's still a bit sensitive. It's not gonna die or anything, hopefully I can nurse back to top form.

All in all, these plants are incredibly healthy. No signs of white hairs yet...but it's only day 7 of flower.

They all look great, even the sick one doesn't look bad, those hempy buckets are working great.

Well, MJ is one of my favorite smells. Even during the decades I didn't smoke it, I loved the smell....still do!

BTW, I got a small nug of Super Lemon Haze to try....it's special. It reminds me of really, really good Mexican haze, like we occasionally got back in the '70s. Totally upbeat, happy, buzzy high. Great taste!

So many strains, so little time and not enough room.....

Oh yeah, I didn't mean that you would find it objectionably stinky.

As a friend of mine just told me, "I like it stinky", to which I responded that would make a great bumper sticker.

I keep seeing SLH, and am very curious. Never smoked any lemony strains, but must be really good if people are willing to wait for it, patience generally being in such short supply these days.

I remember the 70's haze, but the memories are hazy .

One of the dispensaries I used to frequent had some Mexican Haze grown outdoors in Santa Barbara somewhere. It was grown carelessly and cured even more carelessly. Had tons of seeds and was priced accordingly.

Most MJ patients don't want seedy meds, but you know how we are .

I bought an oz of it for $120, and I have about 50 seeds. It's all gone now but for the seeds. It smoked very nicely even with the careless grow and cure. The high also reminded me of the good haze we would occasionally run across back then.

They really are outdoor seeds, but I may try to contain them somehow and see what happens.

I have imposed a seed purchasing moratorium on myself until I use up some of my current stock .

Hey SS, my GF found a website where you can order any custom bumper sticker you want for about $3. When my friends and I call a session we just text "Got time?", she had stickers made that say that with a pic of a mountain at our favorite riding place. I don't know if I am allowed to post website names but can if it's allowed and you want.

doc, the triming of just a portion of the upper fan leaves is a very cool idea!

it splits the difference and is a great solution to shady midsections.

Plants are still looking very nice. I with you with the smoke the good tasting smooth smoke over the harsh potent bud. Half the fun is sitting and enjoying the smoke and the affect comes second. Great job...

The future of Cannabis will look more like the wine industry than the "get F-d up on cheap booze" industry. The cheap ass tequila from yesteryear will get you drunk....but the ultra smooth Don Julio or other premium tequila is where it's at.

Same with wine...which is even more about taste, and all the subtle nuances.

Cannabis will take a while to find it's niche, once it's legal, but pretty soon it will be all about the taste and the ancient ritual of various ways of smoking. The effect will be secondary...because what's the difference if you get high in 3 hits or 1?

We're only scratching the surface of what our beloved plant can become.

The future of Cannabis will look more like the wine industry than the "get F-d up on cheap booze" industry. The cheap ass tequila from yesteryear will get you drunk....but the ultra smooth Don Julio or other premium tequila is where it's at.

Same with wine...which is even more about taste, and all the subtle nuances.

Yep. And they don't brew beer for the highest alcohol content either! It's all about taste. The 'effect' is there too, but "beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." Benjamin Franklin.
