MGD420 Grow Journal: Jan 2022

Removing some leaves wont stunt a plant, unless some = most or all.

Yikes. Thats EC 2.4 if using US ppm scale. Thats the upper limit of the recommendations I have seen for pre-flower, and usually reserved for grows that are supplementing CO2 and are pushing the limits of light intensity.

Over fertilizing can cause stunted growth as well, reading that PPM value I'm thinking you might have to find the solution on that end. I guess less is more in this case :p

Edit: nvm, late to the party it seems :p

ppm500/EC 2.4 on the bluelabs truncheon.
Definitely on the high end, 2 of the plants don't seem to mind it but the one in the middle, the smallest plant I'm not too sure. I've noticed the tips are yellow. Not sure if this is since feeding or if it was there before. Been pretty occupied and run off my feet over the weekend with having my little one here.

What's the normal ppm range to aim for with plants of this size that are around week 5 ?

Before this goes the wrong way; what all do you add and how much is in a solution change?

Sensi Cal Mag Xtra 2ml/L
Micro 4ml/L
Grow 4ml/L
Bloom 4ml/L
B52 2ml/L

I mix roughly 10L
This is the Budlabs chart by Advanced nutrients.
It doesn't have calmag calculations on the chart but apparently necessary when growing in coco.

Edit: Once in flower there's also the addition of Big Bud and two to three weeks before harvest Overdrive

Sensi Cal Mag Xtra 2ml/L
Micro 4ml/L
Grow 4ml/L
Bloom 4ml/L
B52 2ml/L
Let's start with your base, first with 10 liters of water.

Sensi cal-mag xtra you only need about 1ml/L = 10 ml total
Micro and Grow drop down to 3ml/L = 30ml
Bloom back down to about 2ml/L = 20ml
B52 - I have not used this, but I would cut it in half. 1ml/L = 10ml

Start with this and it may change as we watch her respond.

This should bring you to around 850 - 900 ppm's, so let me know; because I have not use AN.

Hope this helps.
Tok..

The plants seem to be responding ok over the last two feeds as is now. I can drop the amount and see how they get on but compared to how they were they look healthy and happy enough. Like previously mentioned the middle plant, the tips on some leaves have a little yellow but not sure if that was previously before they started to perk up and get their colour back again. I know the marks, spotting on the other plants was from when they were a bit worse for wear.

I'll be mixing a batch tomorrow for feeding so can.let you know what the ppm's will be using the amounts you've suggested.

The yellow/brown tips is normally caused by nutrient build up.
That is why I suggested reducing your ppm's.

When it comes down to it you have to make the decision to stay were you are at, or reduce the ppm's. I do not want you to think I am tell you to do something. I just made suggestions from my observations.

I understand why you've suggested dropping the ppm's and i agree they are on the high end. All I was saying is that 2 of the plants seem more tolerant than the smaller plant regarding the nutrients and over-all they seem healthy.
I don't think like that bud. If I didn't want to take or follow the advice I wouldn't.
You've given good advice and it's appreciated. In no way do I see the suggestions/advice offered by anyone on the forum as being dictated and forced on me in any way shape or form. I take it for what it is, guidance from more experienced growers than myself.

Ok so I mixed the following into 10L of water.

1ml/L Sensi Cal Mag Xtra - Total 10ml
3ml/L Micro - Total 30ml
3ml/L - Total 30ml
2ml/L Bloom - Total 20ml
1ml/L B52 - Total 10ml

Calmag = 200 ppm
+ Micro, Grow = 900 ppm
+ Bloom = 1000 ppm
+ B52 = 1100 ppm
Wow, I never guessed that Advance nutrient were so strong.

How long does 10 liters last, or is that one feeding?
If you wanted too, you could add a liter or two of water to reduce the ppm's.

What is your straight water ppm's again?

Full strength AN Micro+Grow+Bloom is about 1000PPM by itself. With their additives it can get up to 1600PPM (3.2EC).

Yea they're quite strong.

10 litres is 1 feeding between 3 plants so I get a decent amount of run off, at least half out to what I'm putting in those 25L buckets.

If I use the bluelabs truncheon for ppm in my tap water it doesn't work. No reading.
With the cheaper ppm meter it gives a reading of around 45 - 52 ppm

Would giving the ppm's of the run off give an indication to what the plants are uptaking ?

no. you're way too hot.
ease off a bit. if you can.

you're riding a rail as the buckets are too large. you're doing really well considering what you have to work with

it's crazy hot now. there's no where to go for flower.

he hasn't settled on a straight method yet. it's all kinda part this part that.

FWIW, I burnt the shyt out of my girls with four feedings at 1250 ppm...

Backed off to 900 and finished just fine !

ProMixHP, 3 gallon fabric bags, AN M/G/B, big bud, sensizym and b-52.

Cheers, Don

agree. much over 1200 gets dicey in any nute
