McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

Good Weed Mcfriends! The supercropping is keeping me busy, these plants are growing fast. I'm getting ready to flip these girls, and I'm making my last effort to get them as healthy as I can before that. I'm still detecting a magnesium deficiency, I've got purple streaked stems that aren't a genetic trait, and a little chlorosis. The calmag definitely helps, but I think my water has plenty of calcium in it and they may be OD'ing on it....and then not getting quite enough magnesium. I'm gonna throw my mothers in there after the flip, get them in flower, then I will segregate em and let em go to seed completely. Mother plants are a pain in my butt!, what I hope to do is give the t5 a rest and only use it when I'm preparing for a run, or running cuts for adoption. Still, these plants have only been fertilized once in their existence...............I'll lean on em a little harder after the flip. Every grow is a combination,............like stacking the deck in a card game, if you get all the right cards and play them at the right time............you'll win the hand! BTW, 10' outside girl split her main stem....wind. It split a bout 6" with a 1/2" gap when I found it. I wrapped the main down about 2" beyond the break and it seems to be doing well.....those plants are getting a max dose of bpn liquid blue once a week.....and I don't water em so I have no idea how much water they take. They are all from 2' to 10'.

I think it's maybe been a bit too hard on this one. It's my first attempt. I was advised not to re pot as I was already using 42 litre pots and there'll be plenty of room left.
If it doesn't pull right iv got other good seeds

On the purple stems..... Every mj plant iv grew has had purple streaks on stem. First time I thought that's cool then second time I worried about deficiencies then I quit worrying lol ever done me any harm but I guess if ur shooting for peak health then u are doin right tryna sort it sir

Howdy Mc and Young Miss Loadie and Happy Skunkday too:circle-of-love:

Thank you so much for the warm welcome Mcloadie. I once went 160 on my R6 I had when I was in college, never again. It is crazy how much you have to turn even on what appears to be a very straight road at normal speeds. I do miss riding though, it was very relaxing for me, I never go on a drive for fun in the car, but used to all the time on the moto. Very nice looking clones you have there! I am sorry to hear about that stem snapping outside; it sounds like it is recovering well though. Are they staked up now just in case? I would love to see some pics of them. I know that Doc Bud also advises against molasses and like Hiker says it makes the beneficials lazy. I was under the impression that the molasses is only meant to feed the beneficials in the tea itself so that they would propagate a lot, I would imagine that once they are in the soil they will eat what is available or die right? I hope you are having a great weedkend!

Thanks rain, yeah there are some folks that don't use molasses......all the big dogs I know do. I have to get those plants tied up, but the one that split was the only one that worries me a little. I base my work off a combination of what I learned in school and what my growing buddies do, they have been making a living off it for over 40 years and I trust em. What I'm learning now is that the fert mfgrs are milking us like fat cows for shit that is really unnecessary, or can be substituted for a low cost natural alternative. If a person follows the fundamentals of plant growth and development they should be fine.................rather than trippin on snake oil!

Been looking MC for the bud wash that you do and can't find it, sucks getting old. Cleanse and rinse but with what I can't remember. Can you write it down again or link me to the page. :scratchinghead:

I just washed a chop today - 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup lemon juice in 5 gallons of water. If you use hot wash water and cold rinse water, you'll also improve color - 40 degree or more difference between them is best.

Thanks graytail that's what I needed. coming at you

Good weed my finned friend! It is a fine munchday so far!!!!:circle-of-love: I'm flippin on the 14th, the balance between my time restraints and plant size will be achieved then. I broke a small branch off, I've been supercropping steadily............these plants smell like a skunk already.....or is it a wild skunk outside?, only my hairdresser knows for sure!:circle-of-love:
