McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

I like it, the weed is just plain cleaner, taste is more pronounced.........I really don't get good smells for a coupla weeks minimum, besides the smell of green ass weed!...LOL. The heat is a little better with the hps outta there, and the rH is just right for veggin! I could lay all the buds out and take some pics, but I hope to get some closeups when we get a little cure goin on.

Hey Mac, in my research for curing, I ran across this product that acts like a humidor, it actually has packets you put in the cover that keeps humidity constant at 62%. It has the capability to return overdried buds back to their cushy fresh state and even the original odor returns. Is called The Cvault. It's at thecvault.com.

Right on bro, I've always done it like this.....from what I've heard, once the curing process is interrupted it can't be restarted. I'm around all the time so I have the opportunity to monitor the drying/curing process closely...............and what usually happens is I never get to give it a full cure and I'm digging into it constantly. I like to have a plant each grow that smokes well with very little or no cure. When I harvest I can smoke that plant til the rest get better at least. I have several patients who rely on my meds, and I still struggle to keep up.

I understand what you are saying, but it isn't only for curing. Say for instance you have some buds that are a month old, dry and no arome, you can stick them in this and it actually restores them through the humidity generated. It works for both, curing and storing.

:laughtwo: Gawd, me too. This first NL Auto is going to be gone before it cures - been smokin' it all month. I may get a week of cure on the main cola before I burn it - finally gonna chop it tomorrow!

:blunt:

(Actually, I kinda like this smokin' it from the bottom up. Those buds were never going to amount to anything anyway, and boyoboy it really forced the final growth upward and out to the branch ends.)

It's a good product for a noob like me, it will rescue the buds in the case of overdrying and such, which happens often enough. No more dry bud and dust, this will reinvigorate and bring just the right amount of moisture. They are relatively cheap too and have assorted sizes, from an ounce or two all the way up to 5 lbs.

Well, they are growing. It looks like they are sooo close to a burn it aint funny! They have the classic hook, and the lower leaves are tipping already. I still have the marginal chlorosis, which is the reason I fertilized when I watered these plants in from transplant............they'll be fine.......but they still may burn.

One taller than the other?.....the only difference is that the taller plant was transplanted 1st time into happy frog soil, the shorter into dr earth. I like the way the shorter plant formed, if I supercrop the taller one is going to be more difficult to keep the branches apart because it didn't grow symmetrically.

This room has the most conducive environment for drying, these are almost ready for jars.........1 or two days.

This is a LONG journal !!!

Congrats on the harvest. I didn't read the whole thing, but it sounds like the harvest was on the small size, same problem I had with the 2nd grow.

I read a part where you were having some problems but didn't catch all of it. I guess it was related to heat, how hot did it get, and how did the plants respond?

I've been dealing with heat issues myself, but I don't know if it hurt the yield or not.

I also noticed you removed all the lower branches, even more than I did. I'm leaving the lower branches on grow 3 to see what kinda yield change I get. I really need to get a scale so I can figure out my gr/watt, but I know my per plant yield was much lower.

Temps got in the 90s daily, and the plants started dying halfway through flower.....I tried everything and nothing worked...it was what it was!.....LOL

Hell Yeah it is!
Is it feasible to fill that whole space with those two plants?

Mac, someone on here put a link up to u-tube, where this guy showed what he does and he ends up with 5 ft diameter bushes full of bud. He mostly tops often, lst's the main branches and snaps other branches over to fill in the blank spots. If you are interested I have the link.
