McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

Ok kiddies.....today is get my ass in gear day! I will clean the room today, and maybe tomorrow I'll have pics of the new victims in veg in their new home. I got my dirt yesterday....61 bucks for two bags ( 1.5 cu ft ) !!!! Loadie picked it up, and upon me finding out what she paid for it, I jumped on the email and let my friendly grow store owner know I wasn't pleased, I can get it at another place locally for 23 bucks a bag! I would like to be loyal to the grow store, but with a gap in price like that there's no way........so, to prove my point, I won't do business there....that's how people find out we won't stand for this shit! I don't buy a lot of stuff.......but they'll get the message, I am personal friends with them and don't expect special consideration.....just fair prices! I'm not going to start a new grow journal, I'll just continue. These plants are hopefully going to get a month veg time under the induction before flowering, these pots are huge and I want a huge root system, I'm going to top the shit outta these plants...........we'll see what happens.

Thats the best way to express bad business relations. Make the culprit aware of your disapproval & cease to do business with them for a substantial period of time. Not one retail establishment that you have a personal relationship with wont react to losing you as regular customer.

Grats on the tasty looking nuggs my friend :thumb:

I think you have too much compassion McL. You can't save the Sheeple!
If only we could get some stoners in the govt, we would see some changes, but it takes some pretty strong motivation to make it in politics. I'm what I consider a highly motivated/ambitious stoner, but even I have zero interest in politics. I worked in local government for many many years. No thanks. :blalol:

Thanks hiker, and awaayyyyyyy we go!, The whole huge lineup this run consists of two super skunk clones, which I pilfered from one of my proteges plants, some kinda dutch seeds strain from holland or wherever. They are sitting on top of their final homes and I'll give em the rest of the day to get accustomed to the light and then I'll bring it down to 18" for the veg period. This is an organic run.....I'll use dr earth products as much as I can, I need a bottle of liquid concentrate.

I think I'm going to let the roots fill these 2 gallon pots good, then I'll put em in the biguns for the rest of flower. I'm trying to decide if I can get away with only fertilizing for the second month of flower, these plants aren't going to get cropped unless absolutely necessary, but anything can happen, the mother is over ten feet tall!

SUPER SKUNK!? yes! shes as strong as chemdawg, but finishes faster! if you took that lemon mexican chemdawg weed and crossed it with this super skunk, youd have diesel!

$20 a bag of soil!? holy shit. they dont have gardeners gold out thre? $7 a cu ft, good organic stuff. theres also hampton estates potting mix, $7 a cu ft, good organic stuff. lowes also carries harvest superpowered potting mix, $7 a cu ft, good organic stuff.

i used to use espoma potting mix, but i wasnt beat to pay $20 a cu ft anymore.

Why are you waiting to transplant?
:smokin2:

Old school trick......lol........we pot up, I like to let the roots fill the pot, then repot, these are in their third pots right now. I think they grow better like that, I was taught that the restriction helps build roots. ALSO, if the roots aren't wrapped around the dirt well, the shit falls apart when I transplant. When done correctly, a plant won't even blink when it's transplanted. These plants are on 24 hrs. light, I'll have em in the dirt in a week or two, then cut the light. Where you been?...........

also, if the roots aren't wrapped around the dirt well, the shit falls apart when i transplant..
im a newbe but tend to agree. I did MY FIRST transplant this morning which i believed should have been done but the soil & roots came out together in one dirt square (no crumbling)

I've heard folks say that they tease the roots out when transplanting, but I've killed every plant that I didn't take great care not to disturb them much, and not to have them exposed to the air very long. When I transplant I have everything ready and water em in right after there done.

just read your journal "the myth of fragile roots & transplanting". Newbes such as myself should read before speaking. Not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone but i should have all points of view before i post

Howdy MC Hell I tear the roots up when I transplant. I have done it all my life that way and it doesn't seem to hurt. Everyone has there own way that makes them feel good and it that happens you will have good result. It's the love. :circle-of-love: I also have everything ready when I transplant.

That's exactly what I mean...LOL

I'm with bill on that one... when my grandmother taught me how to transplant way back in the day, I was taught to cut the roots or gently tear the bottom of the ball loose, not brutally, but allowing some movement, then immediately put into prepared spot, filled in and watered... I've never really had any issues with that unless a plant was just too bloody rootbound and is in it's death throws... but you have to go with what works for you.

I've had a few people tell me not to use humidity domes when cloning, but each time I take them off (here, back home I didn't usually need them, high humidity) within a couple hours, they droop, even with light misting and then die... so I use the domes in this climate, whatever works for the individual though.

In the end, your girls are always lovely, so you're doin them right ;) :Namaste:

Thanks bro, this last run has me trippin still......I never got em just right......next time......

i agree about your transplanting ways mcloadie. i just let em be. coat the bottem of the pot with a bit of soil, throw the sucker in and water her. my transplanting went well. their roots found their way out of the drain holes in a couple days.

i think your mexican bud could have went longer to be a proper fat size. with super skunk you should achieve this plumpness a bit faster. skunk is amazing.

what soil again, sorry? if you need that good good on the low, hampton estates is where its at. .20 .10 .10 leaf compost, peat, perlite and a BUNCH of organic meals to start you off.

gardeners gold is a bit heavier, but still grows plants well. "A blend of sphagnum peat moss, composted hen manure, shellfish, perlite and very old dark bark. It is also pH adjusted with lime as needed"

and then harvest supersoil is def a monsanto company. its a .10 0 0 soil from compost, peat, some perlite and chicken manure, and it has twigs like miracle gros stuff, but suprisingly enough miracle gro soil has an amazing texture and my plants love it!

If you happened by mistake to throw away on your window one of those buds, ill be there catching it.
Congratulations on the harvest, call it marihuana, ganja, lamb's bread, sinsemilla, herb, weed, w/e! its just love hanging in those lamps.
Will you cure them for the recomended time? :<
