McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

your looking good over here man.
Im just curious here whats the idea of bubbling the water is it just for mixing, you are in soil right just wondering trying to learn new things :)

Bubbling your water is irating it for increasing o2 levels. Max o2 water can hold is 12 PPM. So when you go to feed your plants they have lots and lots of o2 in the root system. Besides that if he is using tap water it also gets all the bad stuff out which you can also add 5 drops of bleach per gallon to do this as well. Same things as letting it sit out over night.

Aeration fills the solution with air, which is a vital factor to roots...they love it, and with the low cost of an air pump and airstone it's just another method of bumpin up the odds that you get the fat juicy colas, and give your plants the best possible conditions to thrive in.

Hey Mc, glad I popped in here. Looking good. I swear we grow just alike. Really we do. I have 5 gallon buckets all over bubbling with solution for res changes and my coco plants. As you said on Cnd journal watching the temps and the amounts of water feeding or plants. Reps :thumb:

Thanks for the reps whiz, I try to do anything I can to please the plants, when the next bunch starts flowering I'm putting the diy co2 generators in, they don't put out much, but they do increase the co2 levels and I have noticed the difference without em in there.

real quick mcloadie you think its silly going from 150 watt hid to 125 watt cfl its a jump from like 15k to 7k lumens. its just too hot in my room. i got the ok from amazon to get a refund..they are nice people there

you ever ride a banshee? i road my friends today it was sick. i have a yamaha blaster which is 2 stroke 250 cc but the banshee is 350 cc twin piston two stroke with a boost bottle LOL. it screams i think you can go like 90 in 6th (if you wanna die)

we bought 2 toomey pipes as well that had nice chambers on them

High mcloadie!
They look beautiful! Can i lick one of those colas? :)

Can't you increase ventillation somehow, and/or open up the space a little bit if possible? Maybe get a cooltube, or build one? Have your day time during the night so ambient temps are lower? Put the ballast out of the growing space? (just some ideas, if you've done them forget it)
CFLs arent really great for flowering, they are less effective (more heat for the same lumens). That 7k might be enough for 1 sqare foot or so..

I had a coupla those things long time ago...LOL.....sounds like alotta power which I like! You gotta find a way to manage heat while still having suitable light. You can run any light you'd like but you're gonna trade the heat for less light power...it's all about the light power, is thaere any way possible to run an air cooled light in there? Tell me how big the space is, or if it's a tent, what access you have to a place to run an exhaust, what's the temp of the air you would be drawing in?, is it from....say...and air conditioned room, or some other source that's warmer.

Yeah, I bought a $20 dual air pump with airstones @ petco for my compost tea. I bought it to keep the tea from going anaerobic while it's brewing. The extra air for the roots sounds like a bonus. :) :thumb:

Well, I watered/fed the afghan kush hat I put in flower with the open sesame and it didn't cringe, so I guess I'm ok. What I wanna know is why the Ph was only bad with one type of nutes and the others ( three different brands ) work fine? In any case it looks like I have half an idea wtf I'm doin, and all my plants are thriving! The flower box is on it's way to finishing, the plants are getting tire and I hope they're worn out when I cut em! GOOD WEED 420, fishy, wb, and everyone else floating around in weed land!:circle-of-love:

Please elaborate kushy, what is anaerobic and what effect does it have on our nutrient solutions and finally our plants?

aerobic bacteria is is a living beneficial organism aiding in o2 production
where as anaerobic bacteria is a dead ( not dead) but a killing form of it. it feeds on rotting matter producing methane instead of o2.
have you ever been in stagnant water that has a strong sulfur smell or just happens to send bubbles up for no reason. that is anaerobic bacteria at work eating rotten decaying matter:)that choke o2 out of your brew
