If your tent walls bow inwards when your fan is on is it drawing clean air in? Your Scrog looks good. Just remember to keep your plants under your screen until you are ready to go 12/12. Your screen keeps your plants from growing up wards. When they poke out tuck them back under to encourage sideway growth. It is not a good photo but the plant was trained for months to get it to grow out and not up This shot is under the scrog net. I thought it might give you an idea of what I am trying to say.:Namaste:

I think you will enjoy the cloning Max. It really isn't all that hard to do (if you take them in Veg :-)
I was the one that told you it could be as simple as getting a cardboard box, which is exactly what I did when I needed to switch the room to flower. Figure it's gonna take a good 10 days before you get roots, so there really is nothing to smell. I had them in the box with a little CFL for a couple 2-3 weeks and believe me, if there was a smell my wife would have let me know! Take a couple days to read up on it... you don't need a cloning chamber unless you want one. I always just put a clear cover of some sort over tiny cups with rock wool until I saw roots, then added a little soil (but not HOT soil.) Like everything else, you can make a bunch of work out of it, or do it cheap and easy!

Just thought of something else. I dug around in my garage and found an old aquarium.... I put about 6 clones on an aluminum tray/pan and flipped the aquarium upside down over it until they they grew some roots, then moved them into the box. You can get away with a month before needing to worry about them, just mist them with a sprayer 2-3 times a day. Just my experience, everyone has different ways to do it I suppose.

Maybe 2 weeks under the aquarium then 2 weeks in the box then you'll have some nice new plants that are free any you don't need to wait for them to sprout. The PK-XL's were very easy to clone and it was my first attempt.

That's great thanks. I'm letting a branch get above the screen by 3" so I can then tuck it under the next square. Your picture helped me visualise it better.

My tent walls do bow in so I know it has negative pressure and it isn't possible for air to escape. It is definitely pulling in clean air because the exhaust is blowing air out - the air it is blowing out has to be replaced with air from outside. Some negative pressure will help with keeping the gals' funky fragrance from seeping out and since tightening up the connection between ducting and filter the odour has reduced. It's only slight in the room and none existent on the landing.

I've closed up the room and will check again in the morning before the cleaners arrive - they are banned from the back room but still I dread them knowing I have a grow on.
 
yeah cloning is super super simple. dont do anything complicated. water, rockwool and cuts is all you need. if just sat and done 70.

The box is a great idea. I'll see if I can get set up soon - I don't even have CFL holders and bulbs yet. I have no PK XL seeds left so a clone or three would be good to have around. Will a fan leaf clone or does it need to be something with nodes on? Perhaps a silly question but I have no idea.
 
fan leaves wont clone, i even tried it a few years ago. must be a stem with nodes on. .

Took these a couple hours ago. they are in root riot cubes. soaked in warm water. about 10quid a bag for 50.

Thanks Cultivator. I half guessed fan leaves wouldn't work but it's good to hear one way or the other. I've ordered some Root Riot cubes. I've noticed that new clones always look a bit sorry for themselves before they take. I'm sure they will grow to be beauties though :-) If I remember correctly from one of your videos you remove a couple of nodes before sticking in the rooting plugs.

Does anyone know if 2700k CFL bulbs will do the job for clones? I can get some cheap from the local DIY store, along with some batten lamp holders.

I'm thinking 4 20w stick bulbs.

Concerning the light... You just need a tiny bulb.. I used a 23w regular household CFL and Screwed it into a trouble light. (Know what they are?) Any fixture will do though, you are just giving them enough to form roots, your not trying to veg them yet, give em 10-12 days. I just cut an oblong hole in the top of the box and laid the light horizontally on top. At that stage you could probably just leave the light on all day, but I had an extra timer so I went 18/6.....

Thanks Krypt. I had a notion that the 6500k bulbs would be better, but all my DIY store has is 2700k. I actually want to keep growth slow because the clones will go in veg for 10 weeks until the parent plants finish their flower cycle.

I did the same thing with mine... stalled for time (space.)

Bit of a trim- Day 40

First off, the odour appears to be under control. Fixing the joint betwixt filter and fan has made a huge difference. Hurrah!

In today's thrilling episode of the Max Headroom show, I removed a total of 5 leaves from all 3 plants. 2 each from the big ones and 1 from the little one. They were higher fan leaves that were blocking potential bud sites. They were too big to tuck out of the way somewhere so off they came. It felt right, I'm not stressed about it. There are loads of other fan leaves to give the plant energy, this can only be for the good.
