Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

New to the forum but have since received the Mars Hydro 2.3x2.3x5.3 Tent and ordered the 300W Mars LED light on eBay that I'm currently waiting for.

I have 2 clones (Sherbert and Black Lime Reserve) I got from a dispensary that I've had in vegetation under 8 23w CFL's since Oct 2. Each are in 1 gallon planters with Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil. I'll be transplanting these babies to 2-3 gallon planters in a week or so when I decide to flower.

Since I'm at work I can't post pictures but I'll probably do so tonight. Can't wait to add the 300W Mars Hydro and possibly supplement it with my CFL's for my flowering stage.

Welcome to :420: CareerHigh :)

Thanks @TheCelt - and I bet there's a lot of people who assume I could be a robot or MH affiliate but I'm not actually. I did have a small issue in my experience with purchasing the tent but MH solved it all for me.

I'm a rookie grower and this is my first grow after scouring the internet for a few weeks. Anyways, can't wait to share my first grow with everyone here and look forward to any advice you guys may have.

Oh Plugged. Right now I have running 24 hours a day in my sealed up Grow Room, my Air filter with Muffler, two fans, room lights, and Air Pump, and a radiator Oil filled Heater set to 73 degrees. and the temp has never gone up over 80 degrees in the last week. If I turn heater down to 70 degrees it never rises above 75 degrees.
Just thinking about heat build up if you insulated that well. The cree 128 produces 1098 btu's plus, adding small amounts from fan motors and any other small heat producing devices you may overcome the losses. But that's the hazard of a sealed environment and beware of dehu' s cuz they make 1500+ btu's as well. tell me to go away LoL

Yea man this place is the place to be as far as cannabis awerness site I love this place.
U were just saying there if it got to hot u can open a door.
If it did come to that I'd be tempted to cut a 6" hole out of the wall at the bottom. Pop a plastic louve vent over the hole. And the cool air will get suckd in an cool the place down. I'd go that route before installing a room Ac them things can run a 2000watts or something frikkin expensive bills even for a small one

Well I do have the square vents that go underneath the House that are in the room already, since the room is attached to the house. I have them covered up. so if it did get to warm in the room I can open one of them up. Cool thanks for the idea Calidreaming. I can be so focus on doing this and overlooked the obvious solution. lol.

Just a FYI:)
Temps in a led grow need to be higher than hps/mh grow...
For led the idea temp range is 82-84f , if you are running co2 you are going to run even higher , around 92-95f for optimal grow to happen with co2 fortification. I would then be worried about the LEDs at that point running very hot , they will be well over a 100f . This will decrease the life of the lights , I would recommend some small fans pointed up at the lights to help with cooling .

And I have a small ac unit 8000 btu uses 800 watts , also works as a dehumidifier (70 pint).

You've come to the right place CareerHigh :) there is a wealth of knowledge here with experienced growers in just about any grow style you can imagine LOL There are also a large number of us here using Mars Hydro lights as well

Wow after reading much of this thread I think I will get some Mars lights.
I have 500 quid altogether to spend so any ideas? I want to grow in soil indoors in a tent.
Maybe the 2' 3''x 2' 3''5' 3''Grow Tent but I may upgrade so which light do I go for?.

Hey Monkeygun

If you are going to use a tent and a Mars light, they used to have tent/light combos with some decent deals and anyone I have seen using the Mars tents have said they were decent quality :)

I don't see the combos on their sight anymore but if you check with Sara they can probably still do a combo deal for you

Yo fly boy....... The Co2 allows for higher tempretures right but doesn't make higher tempretures ? So there's no need to be so high as 95* it just means that the plants can still photosynthesise at that tempreture instead of slowing down at 90? So if he can run co2 and hold a steady 85 that's great right?
It looked like u were saying because of the Co2 that the room will be higher that's all. I remember before when I had trouble with temps at 90 ppl were saying add co2 and your plants can deal with the temp better

I bought one of those with a 400 watt mars II for $248 USD delivered to my door. I had one bag seed plant at 5 weeks veg i put in there, and 2 white widow plants a few weeks later. The bag seed gave me about an oz and a half of excellent hard frosty buds, and 25.1 grams of nice sugar leaf for butter. Locally, weed of lesser quality goes for $300. I more than paid for my set up with the one plant. The white widows will be done next week, they were only vegged about 4 weeks due to time constraints, Im hoping about 2 ounces buds total from the two, and some more butter fixin's.

Ya the door would,, but with remote monitoring, you can flick on the exhaust fan with the auto fresh air dampers on the other side of the room opening would do it LoL or the A/C could start to dehumidify and cool for the same power consumption. LoL I am a HVAC service troubleshooter problem solver for commercial building systems. I love automation and may smoked to much.? :volcano-smiley:

He will have to run higher than the 82-84 for LEDs , I just think it either it will cost more to heat the room to 90ish and might be hard on the lights . No the co2 itself won't make the room hotter , but in order for co2 to work the room needs to be hotter . I'm just not sure co2 will be of any help to speed up the plants .

The silver sheets on my walls is those survival blankets that you wrap your self in to keep from freezing. They reflect almost all your body heat back to you. And they really reflect the light around the room.

I'm hoping you have the grow of the year ! lord knows you guy's put in alot of thought and effort and a buck or 2 into it !!! I'm subbed and learning TY

Hey guys i just got my light up and running and i am about to plant 7 seeds that have been germinating for a little over 2 days in soil i was wondering how far away i should set the light from the solo cups? Thank you all in advance. I will post pics after i plant the seeds :Namaste:
