Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

I have 5 of those 1200w and I have used hps for years in all power sizes , imho I feel that the heat of the 1200w is about equal to a 400w hps .
We run 1-1200w in a 4x4 tent and 3 in a 4x8 tent the other one will be going in another 4x4 , tried putting 2 of the 1200w in a 4x4 , but it got to hot and seemed too much anyway , better to buy another tent and grow more :)

Curious how the 3 1200's are working out for you in the 4x8? Did you try using just two at any time? Thanks.

Is that you in the video Sara?

Thanks for sharing, Grow!:thumb:
At about 12-14 inches I get 16,000. My lowest bud gets about 6,000, probably at 25-28 inches. I'll be doing an all Mars II grow and will be listing as much technical data as possible once my beans leave JFK.

:high-five: Hey, Johnnie, that's great! Hope you will get a good result.:circle-of-love:
Hey Sarah, just purchased another 400. Can't wait to add both lights when I flower.

:tokin: haha Uncle, thanks for the love for our Sun series.:circle-of-love:
Thanks for recommending the Sun Series when I was looking to make my first LED purchase.

If I remember correctly you told me "Get the Sun Series. You will not regret it.".
I must say that you were right. No regrets at all. I love my Sun Series LED's!

:circle-of-love: hi paganini, you can grow two or three plants under the light.:high-five:
So, since Smoke Sara told me that a Mars II 400W is good for a 3' by 3' at 24" height, then how many plants can one grow on such area.

:circle-of-love: Hi Boogyman, the sun series has been updated to Mars Pro. Mars Pro has Epistar and Cree chips with remote control. We can take pre-order now and every 15th and 30th, we will ship out the light from China. As the freight differs from countries, the price is not the same. Email me for further details. :Namaste:
when are the sunseries available? and the prices?

Hi Cali, 1pcs MarsII 1200w will be enough for tent 120x120x200cm. The coverage of MarsII 1200w is 137cmx137cm at the height of 60cm. :Namaste:
2x 1200w marsII will be good in tent 120X120X200 cm ?

:thanks: the BTU of MarsII 1200w is 1883. The overall heat production may be equal to 400HPS reflector.:Namaste:
Would work great. Iv got a single 1200 in my 120x120. I added a 700 but with it being summer here it got to hot. If your in a hot climate u may struggle with 2x1200s without AC il be running both my lights in winter half of the year. I'd guess my 1200 gives as much ambient heat as 400hps reflector or a 600hps cooltube

Cali, MarsII1200w will save much heat from ballast, AC and other ventilaton service. 1200w will produce less heat than 600wHPS.:Namaste:
what more hotter ? hps 600 or mars 1200 ?

So a couple of questions,
Been doing some thinking on the heat that LEDs produce and the way the fans work , so I took one of the off brand LEDs that I have and removed the back , took the fan out and turned it around , now the air blows out the top instead of the sides , seems much better to me. Also removed the glass cover , that has helped in two ways , one it has let more light shine through and there is less heat build up , just don't touch it :)

Any thoughts...

I've never understood why the fans blow into the case , imho they should pull air out , every grow room I've ever built I always pull the air out , not push it in , all my tents have fans pulling air out , should my LEDs be any different. I may try this on all my lights and go buy a laser thermometer to get temps .
