Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:grinjoint:hi ruddie, not just off/on, sprout/veg/bloom stage is available. it's the combination of timer, dimmer and temp/humidity sensor.:Namaste: Take the remote control, all within control.
Maybe I missed the reason but why would anyone need a remote control for a light? Is it to just adjust the power or to switch them off/on?

:rofl::rofl::rofl: I wish I had one remote control which can wash my clothes, cook the dinner and play with my cat. Uncle, I don't like digital watches too.
Hey man don't be so closed minded (like me). This new and improved remote may not only control your light from afar but it may also be able to mix up your nutes, water your girls, and cook you breakfast just by hitting a few buttons all from the comfort of your easy chair. Growing may never be the same again. Let's try to keep an open mind about this new remote control feature.

Just kidding mate. I'm with you on the this remote thing but I've decided to try to be open minded and embrace the inevitable.
I didn't like digital watches when they first came out either. Come to think of it, I still don't like digital watches.... LOL!

:circle-of-love: ruddie, it will make grow more convenient. Apart from the timer, dimmer and sensor features, it has memory function. You can design your own mode, for example, setting the specific time and date for specific light.:Namaste:
No no, it just read wrong, It was a legit question. What benefits would I get?

And regarding watches a real watch isn't digital :)

Nooo, Uncle, please don't feel guilty, please, if you feel bad, I will not be happy. Or it's me, do I act too serious...:geek: we are all having fun here.:hugs:
I'm just joking around trying to lighten up the mood a bit since I'm feeling a bit guilty for stirring up a hornets nest about the new Pro Series.

Check out the new video by Co's Finest that is embedded in one of Sara's last post. This video provides a pretty good demonstration of what the remote does and how it all works.

:Hookah:yes... Gnarl, that's a good question :) You can control them with just one remote control.:Namaste:
It will be fine with the fan replacing as long as the specification is the same.:circle-of-love: Gnarl, you know China well.:thumb:
I didn't really want to even think about remotes this morning, but since I am........
If you take the same four light set up scenario I mentioned previously and are required to use a different remote for each individual light are they on different frequencies? Will they interfere with each other, affect phones, tvs, garage door openers , etc.?

Others have mentioned replacing fans with better fans with more power, considering the ongoing driver and power supply problems with the standard fans are they going to be able to handle the extra load of larger fans?

I know I am a little skittish, but I still remember Chinese drywall, baby formula, island building and exploding stock piles of calcium carbide and cyanide.

:thumb: correct, but the new light can not be daisy chained. :Namaste:
700 tons of cyanide...who can forget that? OT i know....

Thanks for the link to the video, I'm watching it now.

Here is my two cents. Instead of a single remote for a single unit. I'd rather a master controller that can controll a whole bunch which means daisy chain'd units. That way the controller can monitor things like temperature and automatically adjust the power output across all LED units. That would be cool.

Haha, welcome to the family!:circle-of-love:
Holy crap led keeps getting more and more complicated I came in here looking for advice on the sold storm 440 or the DS XML 350 now I gotta add mars 11 1600 lol

Hi Kind, during flower, we recommend 12"~18"distance between the light and flower. Even if it doubles in flower, there is still space less. :Namaste:
Hey Sara

What's the closest I can put my Mars II 700w to my plant in flower. My plant is 1.5 ft tall in veg and I'm thinking of switching to flower now as space is tight and she will probably double in height. I'm growing in a 70x70x160 Mars hydro tent.

Welcome goof, the recommend height is as follows:
germination 24-30inches above the plants
veg:18-24 inches above the plants
flower:12-18 inches above the plants
Hope you will have a good beginning with LED. Goof, you can write a grow journal here. People here are very friendly and willing to help you regarding any problem.:high-five:
If I was to use the 1600 (I'll be using the top fed dwc method if it matters) how far do I keep them from the plants? Sorry I have never used led before and seems like every led light recommends a different height

Thanks for the constructive advice.:thanks:
Your plant is 18 inches tall with space height of 5 ft 3 (almost). Depending on your pot size, for an example, if pot is 12 inches, plant 18 inches, and closest is 12 inches for LEDs (12 inches won't cover full area at 12") you need to tie the plant down if you want to spread the plant out, or it's time to flip ASAP. I wouldn't go more than 20 inches, you may have to tie branches down in flower, or supercrop them.

:rofl::rofl::rofl: I wish I had one remote control which can wash my clothes, cook the dinner and play with my cat. Uncle, I don't like digital watches too.

If your engineering team are able to develop a remote control that does all of those things and play with a snake then Mars-Hydro will be bigger than Apple, Samsung, Honda, Toyota, GM, Ford, and GE combined.
In addition, men will no longer need wives and divorce lawyers will be in high demand. LOL!

:green_heart:so:hugs:sweet, you give her so much love... I love the way you love her. she is very beautiful.
My Sugar Black Rose at 31 days and shes gone into flower. I love this little plant she is the perfect size for me, and I love all the little tops she got all on her own. Loves the CalMag though, she has some Northern Lights in her DNA. I tried to give her epsom salt, but that wasnt good enough, she demanded CalMag  She loves having that Mars II 400 all to herself. This so far has been a good strain. Was a free seed from Herbie's which I've had phenominal great luck with the free seeds they always send me for some reason. So I thought I'd do a little summer grow and see how things develop.

super... I feel so happy for what you have achieved today, truly, I believe you will achieve more in the future.:Namaste:
So I was looking in my tents tonight when I realized, I have come a long way.

I joined 420 about 1 1/2 years ago. I had lurked and read for probably 6 months before that. I started with CFLs and quickly moved to LEDs. I started with 2 small closets, now I have 2 tents.

I have 4 plants in flower, 1 Incredible Bulk, 1 Dream Machine and 2 Critical Super Silver Haze.

In the veg/clone tent, I have a lot more going on. 2 IB clones, 2 DM clones, 2 Blue Berry Kush clones, 1 CSSH clone. 1 Blue Blood clone, 1 White Widow Clone, 1 Cali Jack clone, 1 Ice from seed and 1 Strain Hunter Money maker from seed.

I have come a long way in my journey. I don't think I pictured myself 2 years ago where I am today. I feel better then I have in a lomg time thanks to the meds I have been able to grow for myself. Thanks to everyone who has participated and helped me along the way. :peace:

I don't really partake of the herb that much other than for comparison purposes. I am more into the zen of watching things grow, experimentation with soil mixes and trying to create new strains, but my friends seem to rave over the money maker strain I grew last grow. I have sprouted some seeds resulting from my crossing MM with ultimate purple. I'd be interested to know what you think of the MM later on.

:thumb: thank you, you are also helping others a lot by sharing here. :Namaste:
I know exactly how you feel. I've never grown on the scale that you have, but I dreamed years ago about doing what I am now. I never thought it would ever actually happen, and that it would be so easy! I've learned so much in the past 3 years almost 4 soon. I remember when I first found this website, I was Googling to find out what "420" meant  (no I actually didnt know)

I thank you all that helped me too :thankyou:

During today's watering and herm patrol several things occurred to me:

My plants have reached a height under my Mars II 1200 where they seem to shy away from the light, open up and spread on their own. I don't get light burn as it seems they avoid being that close.

They are much fuller and bushier than last grow ( these are clones of the previous grow)

For some reason some of the stems are brittle and snap off with just the slightest pressure. Didn't have that before.

Since they are only in late week three of flowering and have filled the tent wall, to wall soon I am going to have to pull some plants out of there.

And last of all

Despite the fact that it's been two weeks today since I requested the replacement driver and it's been operating at less than full potential my plants are probably twice as far along as the preceding grow was at this time in the grow.
