Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:circle-of-love: wow, my dear friends, Reflector 96x5w has been out of stock in US, that's really fast, there are plenty of Refelctor 48x3w, at the orginal price. :circle-of-love: Guys, you can have two pieces 48x3w as one 96x3w now. :cheertwo::cheertwo: MarsII 900w and 1200w in US also has a very limited stock. Seize the time!:circle-of-love:

:circle-of-love: welcome, Zebs, the yellow leds you are refering to must be warm white. :Namaste: You can take a picture and post here. Thanks for the advice, many growers have suggest the same. I have already forwarded the info to the factory, they will adjust it in the future production. :circle-of-love:
hi, just fitted my new 1200w mars 2. must say its a beast, great build quality. just a quick couple of questions if I can.

looks like a lot of yellow led's, is that normal? I only ask as I see lots of blue/pink photos here, mine aren't looking the same, might just be my old eyes though.
also wondering why there isn't an option to relocate the 4 fixing points to the corners, I have a limited head height and cant use the supplied fitting kit and also cant relocate the fixing points I have. just means the light is 90degrees rotated to how I planned and would like.
is a very solid unit and can not fault any points in the service I've received thus far. ordered Wednesday delivery Friday, cant fault that.

I was under the impression white was less productive than specific colours? I could be wrong I'm new to leds. ive tried taking pic's but its not showing the colours correctly as its so bright. I really can only see them while looking at the light nearly side on

Yeah you gotta watch that... I was looking at mine today (just new also) and like the idiot I am I looked straight at it.
Had purple and red spots in front of me for about half an hour!
They are bright!

the 3 best ones of the many I have taken. its hard to take a decent pic if you cant look directly at it, even with shades on this thing is bright

i can see 40 Warm white leds ... and 40 blues leds .... each are 16% of the total, so there is 68% reds

this is a good spectrum, maybe little more warm white as we are used to, but as i know all the new panels of marshydro have more warm whites leds than before

i guess they know what they are doing with a lot of tests for this new spectrum ... white leds are very important for a complete spectrum. only specifics leds are not very good, some white is needed.

the new old model 60X5 have 23% blue, 22% warm white and 55% reds ...... so the new mars2 is better with 16%, 16% and 68%, as it suppose to be. mars2 are better quality than old models.

before that, marshydro standard spectrum panels was 20% blue, 5% white and 75% reds as i know .... personally i better like the new one .... 5% white is not enought.

23% white may be little too much and 10-15% white maybe very good i think.

Dear SmokeSara
I bought my light through you and paid with a credit card not through ebay and it does not have mars hydro on the light. I was instructed by Dorson to open the light and test for broken driver on the 1600w mars 2. I have found that all drivers seem to be working but one strip of led's are out. I have found it is the white wire which runs the lights and not the driver. All connections look fine. It also looks like 14 diodes need changing. I hope you can help as all i want is my light fixing. Does this mean it needs sending back to you for repair??? I paid a lot of money for this and it is still under warranty.

Kind regards
smokehog

Dear smokesara a driver and diodes have been sent out to me. I hope i am able to repair the light. If not will i have to send back for repair? I dont mind paying shipping fees.

I counted around 92 white&blue of 240 total... it is 61.5% to 38.5% red to blue/white.

i counted again and i can see 88/240 blue/whites ....... so something beetween 32 and 38% blue/white lol

marshydro panels have definitivly more white than before .... hope they test it!

66% to 75% reds is good as i know .... hope 55 and 60% are too!

Do you notice much of a difference between the Reflector series 144x3w compared to the "new" 144x5w? I have not been here in a while and noticed that MarsHydro now has this newer version. Also, is there much of a temperature difference between the two? My 4x4x6 Marshydro tent is currently running about 81 degrees with the 144x3w. I am very happy with the current set up I have but am always looking to improve without overkill. Thanks

:circle-of-love: Hello Apeshot, you will get Reflector 96x5w. yes, 5w will run a little bit hotter, but there is not that much big difference. I guess, your ventilation devices will be able to handle it.:circle-of-love:

Hi Sara, thank you for answering my first question.

Are you able to tell me, if I buy in AU from the AU warehouse, will I be getting a unit that has all of the LED burnout issues solved? I want to make sure I get something with good LEDs in it, rather than the ones that were found to be faulty and had the warranty offers on them.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

:circle-of-love: Morning, Zebs, you are not wrong, the photoreceptors are mainly in the red and blue region. LED has specified these colors for plant's photosynthesis, so it's more efficient. :Namaste: The light is too bright looking from the front. Better to take a pic from the side. :high-five:

:thumb: thanks for the pic. I have sent the pic to the engineer. The ratio of white, blue and red is correct, don't worry. The main color in the pic seems red. :Namaste:
