cocco is well known for causing ph issues if not treated properly before planting, judging by your pics I would say that that is a ph issue, I ve never personally grown in cocco but Cultivator is a cocco gurru, he can tell you what the process is for treating cocco before use, I think you soak the medium in ph adjusted water for a period of time, hope this helps.

ahh ok thanks - i didnt know that either, and had only read about flushing water thru the coco before planting, not soaking, so will definitely try that next time


..do you think it would be worthwhile to flush some ph6 water thru one of the latest pots and measure the runoff?
 
thats a question for Cultivator bro, I dont give advice unless I have done it myself and I dont use cocco but ph issues and nute burn are often confused they look very simillar, the difference is nute burn causes the tips and edges of the leaves to get dry and cripsy and ph issues will cause an overall yellowing of the plant and the leaves will apear to be flimsy and limp with yellow edges that will eventually dry up to look like nute burn. even though they are seedlings they still use some of the stuff in the medium and the water, a ph issue will cause a nutrient lockout, your plants wont be able to uptake anything and will starve causing the plant to turn a pale yellow and eventually die, especially at that sensitive age.
 
BID - BigIrishDoode - is another coco expert and always willing to help. He's also used LEDs and HIDs.

the best way to treat coco if its not clean is to use ro water ph'd 5.8. run through the pots till about 20% run off and allow to sit over night, if its poor quality repeat 3 or 4 times, once is usually enough. if u have quality tap water that can be used instead of ro water.

ive never had a single issue using canna coco professional but i have had to clean out the regular canna coco. hope that helps.

and shows great pics, there are many journals showing great success

Hi Yuyo,

Yes, I can assure you that Republicans do indeed partake. :-) Though I'm not sure what kind of person would talk to you like that regardless of political persuasion. That would've been an awfully insensitive Republican. Being a Republican myself (really, more libertarian) I have a tremendous amount of compassion for anyone trying to help themselves. I applaud you for what you are doing. I think we all deserve to do what would make us happy and healthy.

I don't think what you brought up is a Republican/Democrat or a right-wing/left-wing issue... it is an issue of compassion. It is a quest for health and happiness. And this is supposedly guaranteed us by the Constitution (in the United States).

Now, if you want to bring up the idiotic left-wing policies of wealth re-distribution, Obama care ("If you like your current Health care plan, you can keep it - PERIOD") and other nutty left-wing socialistic spew, I would definitely have an opinion. LOL

I think anyone that would come on to these forums and say that someone doesn't deserve to be growing unless they have a certain type of equipment, would be slammed every which way but loose. I would be happy to lead that charge.

it should come with basic hooks to hang it, but you wont be able to adjust height

even if it doesnt turn out to help my already traumatised babies, i still appreciate the advice :)


dont have acess to RO water unfortunately, and dunno about the quality of the tap water..
it dont taste bad, and has a pH of 7.6-7.8 from what i've seen so far


am unsure what you mean by "..allow to sit over night" - do you mean if i have to flush it more than once i should only do it once per day?


- just flushed one of the pots with 5.8 water until there was runoff, and that measured as 5.9 with my new and correctly calibrated bluelab pen, and 0.1 could even be within the margin of error, yeah?


man, the canna site in australia doesnt even mention the professional stuff, and i havent seen it in any local stores either :(

G'day THC, I don't know where you are but you have access to a major supermarket chain? I'm also an Aussie and found RO water in the ironing, laundry, section of Coles, cheap to. I'm using the total horticultural concentrates range, so good so far. But you should also be able to get the canna line of nutes. You have the internet if all else fails. Peace man
 
Can anyone tell me if I put two 400's together, does it give me a bigger footprint or intensify the footprint? Thanks
