Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Without wanting to jeopardize your warranty... I personally would just take it apart and replace the brass hanger somehow.. Not quite sure the issue, did it break or pull through the hole in the case?

The light should come apart pretty easily by unscrewing all the case screws...

The light would come apart easily, except for the switches... not sure how to get them out and do not have the luxury of creating a situation where I might break the light right now, since, as I've mentioned, it's keeping my plants alive. The nut fell off inside, you can hear it rattling around in there, I just have no way of getting to it.

This is my first year growing indoors (medical), second grow. I learned a lot of what I know about growing on RIU (--------.org). It seems the majority of people there absolutely hate Mars Hydro, so I went against the "common wisdom" in buying these units. I'll do whatever works, I don't care about impressing anyone. Having this part pop off as I install it for the first time, was not confidence inspiring.

I am curious what the company reps think I should do. Buy another one, use this one until it gets here, and then send this one back? Can I send it back after having used it for a week (+/-)? I'm not really sure what the return policy is.

I would be worried more about the nut rolling around inside a electrical component and shorting out. If you look online at the Mars 2 900 watt the case is open it should be similar with quick disconnects. Get permission first to protect the warranty and fix it yourself the units are not at all complicated.

Possibly

Email Sara through the link in here signature and she is SURE to help you with the problem. Its a minor problem as far as the light is concerned. Just a BIG problem for your plants.

Customer service with Mars-Hydro is beyond exceptional (especially through Sara) and is one of the main reasons they are so popular here. Sara will bend over backwards to help and ensure you are pleased with their lights.

They may not be the "best" light (I am not sure as its my first grow and no others to compare to) but with the price and the "hands on" customer service, I highly doubt I will ever purchase from anyone other than Mars-Hydro.

Email Sara through her link and I am SURE she will get you the help you need.

Actually the light temps can over 50C, but plants will have problem. 80~85F can makes plants grow great.
Thanks supergroomer and S.S. I was originally told to keep my temp under 80* for safety of the light, but it was misunderstood by Ruby. She was thinking that room temps had to be under 80 for the light, but I'm guessing someone told her for the plants and because she's not a grower, she may have misunderstood plant temp for the light temps... don't really know. But glad she figured it out and got back to me with the correct information! I was stressing out thinking I might damage the light but wasn't understanding why it couldn't handle a higher ambient temperature. I'm just glad it was all figured out and now I have peace of mind about the products and my family's safety also.

temp. problem solved, next one is to grow more dense bud, haha .
Before I had my current set up, I had days during the summer pushing 95-100. THAT is too hot!!! 80-85 I think is perfect. :peace:

welcome to share more your grow with us Guam, then all of us can grow better and better. learn each other. :)
I agree. I try to keep the temp change at 10* from lights on/off. I like my Temps at about 80-85 with dark temps about 70-75 (depending on the weather outside). This is my first LED but not my first grow, so I figured there would be some learning curve and a lot of info on led that I just don't know. Im just now coming out of the stone age as far as growing goes.... and computers.. haha

haha, Dennise, it seems it is very hard to control the temp:)
KingJohnC actually says that the ideal temp for MJ is 86 degrees.... I will admit that is a scary number for me and I try and run close to it but am so afraid of running over it... I normally stay around 80-84 and it works well for me....:circle-of-love:

I just started a journal here yesterday and added pics today. Also has an initial review of the light. I'm all about learning more, I am by no means an expert, but I know a little bit. If I ever stop learning, it's time to stop growing... Feel free to look at my review and journal (anyone) and give me some feedback. Thanks
