Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:high-five:
Hello Ice

I can't comment on the 144, but the Mars II 900 is awesome. My girls are loving it and will got into flower Thursday maybe.
I would definitely recommend the Mars lights and will purchase more of them in the future.

My young fella is here cleaning his bong and I am going to try whatever he has at the moment LOL

:welcome: please order 96x3w.
Morning sara that 144x5w seems like a great deal and the 700 but can't seem to decide only 3ftx20in tent only give me 1.5 on the ends but great coverage. Don't want plants not under lights anyway but like the veg/flower button option too.

rubying helping you ? she just asked me the same question.

Ok guys and gals, I got a problem.... I think. Anyways, after the install of the Mars2 900 in my 4x4 tent, my ambient Temps in the tent is 88* F. I put another hose in to vent fresh air, added another fan to circulate the air and turned up my exhaust fan to nearly 80%. I was told that the Temps had to be below 80*F and that it was not ok if the Temps were this high. First, I don't like my Temps that high anyway, I prefer to be at or below 80* lights on. So any suggestions on how to fix this without an a/c unit in the tent? I'm all ears. Thanks

Ok, got it resolved. Temp is fine above 80*. Received message back from Ruby saying everything is fine. Either way, I got my Temps steady at 83* now with my ac turned back up to 74* and my fan down to 40%. Thank you Ruby for checking the information again for me and getting back to me promptly! Gotta love the customer service even after the sale! I'm happy I purchased this light, especially with service like this!

My tents run between 80-85. No Problem. :peace:

Is there anybody know this? I just know yesterday, it is truly good news for all of us. paypal wants to promote their brand in Australia and Europe. so I think we can use it , here are the details.

want to know more, ask the details from me, I am the rep of paypal now, hahaha.

Let's see:

In General Organic's Cal/Mag Plus the caicum is derived from Calcium Carbonate and the Magnesium is derived from Magnesium Carbonate.

Calcium carbonate is found in limestone. You can buy pure Calcium Carbonate at some health food stores. Off the top of my head the brand "NOW" sells pure calcium carbonate powder. *If you choose to use calcium carbonate expect the ph of the grow medium to raise. Limestone powder is slightly acidic. If don't want to deal with the increased ph of the grow medium find a source of powdered gypsum(Calcium Sulfate.)

Most "Gym chalks" are made up of pure magnesium carbonate. If you can't find "gym chalk" at a local athletic store, epsom salt is commonly used for gardening purposes. Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate.

Thanks supergroomer and S.S. I was originally told to keep my temp under 80* for safety of the light, but it was misunderstood by Ruby. She was thinking that room temps had to be under 80 for the light, but I'm guessing someone told her for the plants and because she's not a grower, she may have misunderstood plant temp for the light temps... don't really know. But glad she figured it out and got back to me with the correct information! I was stressing out thinking I might damage the light but wasn't understanding why it couldn't handle a higher ambient temperature. I'm just glad it was all figured out and now I have peace of mind about the products and my family's safety also.

Before I had my current set up, I had days during the summer pushing 95-100. THAT is too hot!!! 80-85 I think is perfect. :peace:

I agree. I try to keep the temp change at 10* from lights on/off. I like my Temps at about 80-85 with dark temps about 70-75 (depending on the weather outside). This is my first LED but not my first grow, so I figured there would be some learning curve and a lot of info on led that I just don't know. Im just now coming out of the stone age as far as growing goes.... and computers.. haha

I am right about the same in my 2 tents. :peace:

Ya i have my girls temps ranging from 68 with lights off and 84 with lights on. i have read that 75-85 is ideal with lights on and for best results you wanna keep the temp drop at about 10 degrees.

i would like to have my temp range at 70-80 but ill have to get my room temp controlled better

... I don't think I like DHL.
Apparently I "wasn't home" when the delivery guy came and now my package is "on hold", also he/she didn't bother leaving behind a paper telling what day it will be delivered next.
:hmmmm:

Hope they will deliver tomorrow.

In winter months, temps around 75-77, in the summer with house set to 76/77 F 79-81 with an occasional 82 ish lights on. If you have sufficient exhaust you shouldn't be above 85 unless the room it's located in is 80+ ambient temperatures. Living in 80+ weather is no bueno. My wife would cry if the house was in the 80s.

Hi Sara,

I just received my second Mars Hydro light. This one is replacing a complicated CFL light system that I had, that runs too hot to run in the summer and we're getting 90+ degree heat within five days. I had to disassemble the CFL system to remove it from the closet, so its in pieces now. I went to hang the new 96x3 Reflector, and one of the brass hanging tabs came off while I was working with it. This is a really big problem in my little world, since I have live plants in the room and can't put the old system back in -- in other words, one way or another I have to use this new light starting right now.

I used what I have on-hand, and the Mars Hydro light is attached to a hanging rack with bungie cords. It is keeping the plants alive, but this is not an acceptable long term solution. What do you suggest?

Thanks -
