This will be a great addition.

Any thoughts or plans to add a vent on top so the hot air can escape out the top instead of the side?

If heat rise like it does, would it not be best to let it naturaly blow outo the top? That makes sense to me

8 fans are nice but blowing at each other does what? Add a vent on the top of the light and u cool it more efficiently

If you watch the video, you will notice that 4 fans are blowing in, while the other 4 on the other side are blowing out. It looks like the side vents are covered with heat sinks to me. That part is a bit hard to see.

no you don't want heat to collect directly above the unit. I don't have my unit yet but I saw a diagram that shows the fans pulling the air through the top and away from the unit via the side vents.

That definetly is a nice design I missed that in his video I guess. But i have a blower in my tent so I don't have air that lingers above my lights. But if the fan is a blower and pusher then that does sound solid
