yup here is what I discovered, Log in and click remember me, go to GROW ROOM at top of page then click journals, then click journals in progress, then you will see the link on top right for create new thread, create thread with all the good info you can muster, then copy the URL to your thread( you will pase this later in sig file/create link) , go to settings, subscriptions, edit signature with your journal info( My Journal Etc) , , then create a link by pasting the new thread URL by clicking the create a link icon just above where you typed in your signature info . Thanks SuperG!

HMMM! still trying to get my sig file to look right, Dang!

OK think i got it. Typed: 'Gudyul Mars Cup 3' Journal into sig file then pasted the URL starting with www. (not https://) into the create a link thingee.

Yes,the grow journal should be finished before the end of April.:high-five:
Does the journal need to be completed by the end of April for the contest?

I usually open the Setting page, under the My setting section:edit signature.I usally go there,i'm not sure if you guys did the same.:high-five:

If the point of the contest is to showcase the Mars Lights, then the rule of from start to finish under only Mars Lights should stand. I have not had a issue getting seedlings to start under My 144's as shown in My Journal.

Im bummed I cant use my mars 300..I just germed a bean and then saw that the mars 300 and 600 were not allowed.

Why is that? Do they expect that using those lights that you will not get a decent enough plant/yield to compete with the newer lights?

Please do not think I am trying to be difficult I am Just curious as to hear the reasoning behind this considering they are in fact mars hydro lights.

Any info would greatly help in my understanding

I don't work for mars but would assume there trying to showcase there newer lights. Or they can't trust there old lights being a legit mars hydro light.im probably wrong but the only thing I can see. Plus wait a few days and they will probably change ruling in that as well lol. By the looks of it there allowing some people to use t5 to start clones and have broke there rules as of when you can start the grow as well so only time will tell what else will change. I personally think they should restart mars hydro cup with a straight set of rules that don't change. They are a learning company and will eventually have this down pat

Thats what I was wondering......if the company themselves think the older lights are not up to par.

I can 100% understand showcasing off their newer series I would just think if that was the case then the older reflector 48 series would be out of the running to. The only logical explanation I came up with would be that the mars 300 don't have the separate veg and bloom switch but I dont know if the 600 has duel switches cause I have yet to own one

If I was mars hydro I'd let every mars light into the Comp. To showcase not only what newer light can do but also what there old technology can still do.ive never owned a older mars product say can't speak on them but have seen journals that have done well with them. Theres other categories not just for biggest yield that maybe the older light could contend in.maybe next hydro cup they will allow all there lights to participate.

Ok... so while I'm not impressed with the tent I received from Mars-hydro or the way I was dealt with by their customer service...But because of what I have read on this forum about their newer led lights, I decided to give them one more chance.

I purchased a Mars II 1200 yesterday off Amazon for $600CAD shipped. Less than the price on the mars-hydro website. I won't receive it for a week, so too late for the competition and I have other grows going. But my next journal will be growing strictly with the new light so far can compare with another LED I am a using.
Just an FYI

1st Time - Indoors - 600W MH - 4x4 - GSC & Blueberry

4x4 LED GSC & Hash plant

You could still run a fast finisher. AK47 or Female Seeds C-99. The C-99 can be flipped in 4 weeks and is done in 8. :circle-of-love::peace:

IN my semi legal state (AK) A clone is not counted as a plant till it is 8 inches tall. T-5 is standard for cloning. I know 144 has switch to dim down but this is an important stage of growth so why trust using blue spectrum for clone or seedling for contest. I have successfully cloned and sprouted under a two bulb 24 inch fixture (60 watt?) of cool whites for years( trying to maintain 76F). Usually I take way more cuttings than I need ( 4 inch) and use the healthiest first rooters. In this state I live in any plant with roots used to be counted as a plant, now it is not counted till it is 8 inches tall for commercial purposes (change of rules that constitutionally may be true for personal use as well if challenged). I plan to move to the Mars 1200 or 144 before the clones reach 8 inch and has noticeable vertical growth . The clone was under the t-5 for aprox 3 weeks or 1/5th of the entire cycle( 15 weeks) from cut to chop. What does this all mean? IDK , I think rules are meant to be broken and fixed till they get it right. Mars management may feel free to do as they wish as it is their contest.

For what it's worth, I have cloned under a full spectrum (older) Mars II 400. It works fine. You just need to make sure it is high enough above. I usually am at 2.5-3 ft for clones. :peace:

OK , thanks, guess I'll give it a try then. I'll start another thread with tangerine dream and critical cure clones. I need to top those Bitches anyway.

I hardly call My success a "experiment" it comes from many years of growing this wonderful lil plant. Like any new system it takes awhile to dial it in. Many many other growers on this thread have gone from start to finish using only the LED. As for the no one clones under 300 watts I do it regularly with a 400 w MH in one of My 3 -----------s the key is simply learning where to place the lights and the knowledge of your craft and equiptment ... I abhor absolute statements. " no one clones under anything but flouros".. obviously they do.. Growing like any other art is subjective and no one that's no one knows everything...remain open minded and learn. I learn from My growers and forums like this everyday as I hope they do from Myself

Just keep the light up high. If I have you can raise the bigger plants from the bottom to get closer to the light and leave the little ones down low. Good luck with the cup!!!:thumb::peace:
