Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

You also have sleeping problem? But you are good to us here,my friend suffered for insomnia for about 10 years, everyday only can sleep about 3 hours, that's really terrible.:Namaste:I'm sure you are much better than him.:high-five:
hmmm interesting... maybe that's why i've always been an mean, angry bugger. insomnia.

Yes, Sara, for the best sedative effect, you should try a strain that comes from the Afghani and hashplant families. The genetics of cannabis are rapidly being mixed up, but indicas are usually the sleepy strains, and Afghanis are the source of most indicas.

For instance, I would recommend Black Domina for someone with insomnia. It's a very well-known award-winning strain, but there are dozens of others that may do as well - it depends on the person.

:Namaste:

:thanks:Thanks for your information,i will check.:Namaste:Hope my friend can find the right one for himself.:high-five:
Yeah, being able to fall asleep is very important for everyone, but nowadays more and more people can not sleep well,or they are trapped in sleeping disorder.:Namaste:
I will wake easily and always dream a lot.Sometimes my dreams are very awesome,i should write a book maybe.haha.:volcano-smiley:
If one person can not sleep well, his or her mind will be drowsily all day, after a long time,it will ends up with health problem.:Namaste:
In general, an indica (NOT a sativa). But probably one that has some percentage of sativa genetics in it, just enough to help prevent that "groggy and lethargic" feeling upon awakening. I do not honestly feel qualified to give medicinal advice, so I would not recommend a specific strain.

Or ask your question here:
Sleep Modulation

Definitely take advantage of the wealth of information in the more medicinally-themed sections of this forum. You should be able to find an appropriate place to ask such a question, one in which it has a high likelihood of being seen - and answered - by people who have personally experienced that problem and who can give you specific strain recommendations based on their personal experience. Most people are here to help others, and sleep-related issues are not really all that uncommon.

Being able to fall asleep (at an appropriate time, lol) is important. Also important are: Being able to sleep through the night as one uninterrupted period, to benefit from the sleep (IOW, there is a difference between being in REM sleep and being unconscious ;) ), and being able to wake easily and refreshed the next morning. Sleep - and dreaming. These things are important in many ways. It is a time for the body to deal with accumulated toxins and waste products, a time for the mind to deal with and digest things, et cetera.

Sleep and the body's Circadian rhythm are very important to one's health and well being. There are other things that might help, such as certain herbs/substances (alone or in combination with cannabis), preventing ALL light from hitting one's closed eyelids (if your friend has not tried it, perhaps a sleeping mask, non-constrictive blindfold, or even covering the upper half of his face with a dark t-shirt or other piece of lightweight - but heavy enough to block out all illumination - might help). And be aware that it can take from a week to over a month to properly regulate one's sleep patterns, even if/when a solution is found. Especially[/i] in cases such as your friend's, where the product is chronic in nature and has been ongoing for a long period of time. In severe sleep-related issues, there is usually no "instant solution." This is true whether the root cause is organic, functional - caused by a mental condition or a brain injury and/or disease - or due to stress, environmental conditions, even due to an event in the person's past that has been unconsciously affecting him/her all this time.

:welcome:Hi Graytail,thanks for your help.:thanks:

Did you suffer from insomnia before?:Namaste:

When I was a young man, I stayed up too late and woke too late, so my weakness was not waking up. But I began smoking the herb 48 years ago when I was only 15, so it was natural for me to integrate it into my schedule, and I haven't had any trouble falling asleep since. I was never able to use alcohol to relax at night. The cannabis high is much easier to regulate, and it seems more gentle to the soul.

:Namaste:

Any "morning after" effect? Or is it the kind of strain that, having consumed it the night before, one needs to consume a good sativa as an antidote upon waking?

I honestly don't know - I'm a zippy sativa guy, so I don't smoke indicas. :cheesygrinsmiley:

But I smoked many pounds of old commercial brickweed before I started growing again, so I know about the CBN effect, and as much as I didn't like to admit it, I wouldn't be as sharp as I would if I hadn't smoked myself to sleep. That never kept me from being alert and ready when I got to work though.

Out of curiosity I also used over the counter sleep aids a couple times (like Niquil?)and they were many times worse - took me hours to clear my head.

I've also come to believe that sitting alone, very stoned, quietly absorbed in thought for a couple hours, is very similar to sleep. I've found that I can substitute deeply stoned time for sleep. Sometimes, it's hard to ignore thoughts that must be thought. Cannabis helps calmly examine difficult thoughts without as much anxiety. So even if you don't fall asleep right away, you're still resting both body and mind.

:volcano-smiley:I think it happens to teenagers a lot.I still remember that i always read book or watch movie till 1am at night, and next morning to wake up early to take class.:volcano-smiley:That time i can fall a sleep at anytime, but now i can never do that.Even i sleep on time every night,i may get insomnia.:Namaste:I tried to drink some red wine or beer,it only helps for the first two times.:high-five:
My friend got more seriously trouble than me,in the past 10 years,he suffered from it.His doctor can not do anything to him now,and his psychologist also can't help too much.:Namaste:
I think my friend should really try this kind of cannabis,it may help him.:cheertwo:

I've done that half my life (if you count your life in hours), lol. But still, when it is time to get up and officially begin the day... I'm dragging.

In addition to the usual aches and pains attributable to an... interesting life, I have what would in a schizophrenic be described as "runaway thoughts." Which was undoubtedly helpful when I was in a serious relationship with one for years - it enabled me to "keep up" when she was carrying on conversations about seventeen different topics with me at 90 mph. But it makes it hard to sleep when your mind just... won't... ever... SHUT DOWN <SIGH>.

By "morning-after affect," I mean stumbling around in a stupor with 55-pound eyelids. When you finally make it out of your house after checking fifteen times to make sure that you have everything only to realize after pulling your door shut... that you have forgotten your keys :rolleyes3 .

Everytime when i close my eyes,my mind keep telling me that there are someone outside my window, but i already half sleep...:volcano-smiley:
Recently everytime before i leave my house,i will check everything, right after i go downstairs,i don't remember i locked the door or not. Then whole day i will worry about the safety of my home.:Namaste:

I used to have dreams that I was flying, but there were things above me that could hurt me, and I would fall and wake up.

I loved flying in my dreams but I dreaded falling.

I've never fully understood how anyone can prevent a plant from growing. We can prevent people from making white powders from plants, but how can we prevent it from growing? It simply grows and bears fruit. Why can't we harvest the fruit and use it? People who love cannabis don't hurt other people or themselves - it's proven and obvious. This comes from a man who has smoked it daily for 48 years, so far. If it was harmful ... I would know ... ... Yes? I've worked all my life talking and negotiating with people, I own my own home, almost paid for, and I've always been a respectable member of my community, no different than the other tens of thousands of people I come into contact with.

The plant should be allowed to be what it is.

:Namaste:

[Edit] I forgot to mention - when you smoke before sleeping, you don't usually remember your dreams in the morning. :hmmm:

:thumb:Haha,i used to dream that i was flying also, many times.I was superwoman in my dream, the train was flying too.haha:cheertwo:
Really if i smoke before i sleep,i will not remember my dreams? that is good.
Cannabis can help a lot of people, but there are some other people take advantage of it,they use it for some bad purpose, that's terrible.:Namaste:
