I've used both switches the whole time for a few reasons:
1> They are introduced to the ir spectrum right as seedlings The ir lighting is actually used to simulate the morning unseen rays of light that encourages cell division causing you to have thicker stems and fatter leaves
2> On my light one switch controls one fan so with both on the heat sinks are getting an even distribution on heat across the light not just one side
3> No gapes in coverage/spectrum Like with the sun plants need a fuller spectrum just like they need variations in pH to maximize the nutrients they are up taking while in soil.
4> No spaces in par value

Helps a lot, actually, thanks for the info. I have a few 65w CFLs for freshly popped seeds, how long after the cotyledons emerge should I put them under the 700w light? Is that much light too much when they're still young?

Good day Sara, I'm the guy with the black led's. I have sent 3 emails with no reply. First was on July 20 to solutions@mars-hydro.com with all information but no pictures. After talking with you I sent another email to solutions@mars-hydo.com with all information and pictures on and off, on Aug. 3. No reply. On Aug. 6 I sent email to service@mars-hydro.com with pictures, model numbers, dates purchased, number of black and/or melted led's in each unit, location, and return email. No reply. I have read in this forum about you having a problem with lens from one manufacturer. I had led's from dorm grow a few years back that did the same thing, they must of got theirs from the same manufacturer.

Happy Chinese Valentine's Day
Chinese Valentine's Day is on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month in the Chinese calendar. A love story for this day is about the 7th daughter of Emperor of Heaven and an orphaned cowherd.
An oxherd Niulang with the help of his ox (the demoted cattle god) married the 7th daughter of Emperor of the Heaven, Zhinü, who became a weaver girl. Zhinü's mother, a goddess, returned Zhinü to heaven. Niulang pursued using the ox's hide. The goddess separated them by a river of stars (the Milky Way), but magpies were allowed to form a bridge for them to meet once a year (Qixi).
This is a really cool story, I first heard of it from an album by one of my favorite bands, it's called Somewhere At The Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altaire, one of the songs ( Said the King to the Rivers) is directly about this story. I didn't know it's the Chinese Valentines Day. I started reading your post and the story sounded very familiar to me
I was thinking about that, the lights are currently hanging about 3 feet above the top of the seedling. Thanks Sara, you're a wealth of information

The chips tech upgraded fast,and lens tech can not catch up with,it cause darken the lens.We are keeping upgrade our lens tech,the new diodes is better.
