Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:cheesygrinsmiley:Haha, yes, you are right.
You'd love the reflector series then. Rectangles, corner hooks, same led's as II series but with added reflectors.

:party:Congrats, plugged! Now you have four of our white model.:high-five:
Many Thanks going to Mars-Hydro CoCo and Sara for my new 200x3 holiday give away light. Arrived today packaged well and working perfectly its going to add much to my all Led grow system. Presently using 4 100w e27screw ins at 5000k for veg they work VERY well bagged all CFLs because they suck by comparison. For flowering I'm using 3 Mars-Hydro 60x5 units and they are great and produce excellent bud. Not sure yet how I'm going apply the 600w panel yet maybe 2x2 scrog.

I love Mars-Hydro and I am a real person.!!

:party:wow, brian, they do look amazing. Keep doing great.:yahoo:
some pics of my Dark Dragon SCROG at week 4 under the new Mars Pro Epistar 160 LED. Great coverage and penetration so far

Let me smoke a few joints I'll design a tent pro lighting system that would dwarf any before. Complete with an external integrated touch screen tablet that not only records tent conditions but also includes multi soil probes,co2 levels, lighting timer, time lapse recording/night vision camera, auto watering/ph/ppm/nutes system/ complete with gravity watering tank.

:circle-of-love:Hi Lazarus, the draw poer for 2pcs the old model 300 is close to 280w. 6inches fan will be good enough in 3'x2' grow tent.:Namaste:
I'm getting ready to buy a pair of mars 300s and i just wanted to ask anyone that has experience with them how they are as far as heat. I am in a constant battle with keeping my temps under control so my reservoir temp doesn't get too high. I know you run temps a little higher with leds (low 80s if I'm not mistaken) but would i need stronger exhaust ventilation than a 6 inch 400cfm duct fan or would that be good enough. I would go with an inline fan but my girl would not be pleased with a jet turbine whining in the bedroom. She is sketchy enough about the two little pc fans that i run sometimes. lol thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide. BTW my tent is 3"x2"x5 1/2".

:circle-of-love:Hi Glitch, great to know that! Could you share some pictures...:)
Use the same amount of watts in led as you would in hps and you will do fine. I would suggest the marsII series. They have a better spectrum than the older models. Also measure out your grow area and i would happily help you find the right mars light to cover it. I use one of the old ones you mentioned and a mars 2 400 watt in a 2x2 and it works great.

:circle-of-love: thanks for the help, plugged.:high-five:
I have a home made enclosure 2' x 4' x 6' I use 3 of the 60x5 and exhaust with a 6" 175cfm it holds the room at 78 to 80 no problem. My room temp is 70 or so in winter and I a/c to 74 in the summer. You should be fine, by the way you will have good results with those lights.

:circle-of-love: Hi Lazarus, the optimum temp with leds is 80f~85f.:Namaste:
Not higher res temps, i meant higher room temps. My tent with cfls running is around 75°~79° and my res is a cool 65°. Right in the sweet spot, if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks for all the input. I really wish i could afford mars II series but my budget precludes that. I have found 2 of the old style mars that are in my price range so i think that will be a good starting point. I still plan on using my cfls for sidelighting. Am i correct that with leds you want to run room temps around the low 80s? Something to do with the transpiration under leds... Just something i picked up watching some youtube vids and doing some reading...

Howdy Mates,
I`m an Old School (400 W) grower with very limited space. My ceiling height is only 4ft tall. I normally grow 5 plants at a time and avg 10-11 zips which isn`t great, but, the ends do justify the means..
I have been reading this Forum regarding Mars LED and i`m ready to give it a shot. Whats the best way to grow? Should I buy the Mars 300W TrueWatt 140W±5% LED? Or can someone point me in the right direction. Thank You in Advance.

personally with only 4ft in height i would go with the reflector series. nice good coverage but less intense light some the lenses becourse the reflectors spread it out. just MHO

LOL quick question I'm planning on upgrading my craptastic cfl in a few weeks to a 400w mars 2 and was wondering what kind of exhaust y'all would recommend right now I have a 187m3/h winflex t100 not sure if this will be enough for the 400w. My tent is 60 x 60 x 140cm vented into another room with maybe a meter of traveling between the fan and outside pretty much straight into the air and out. Tent is located in a room with the ambient temp of about 18* constantly threw out the year.

i think you will be more than fine with the 183m3/h :thumb: no need to upgrade that one :D one of these would make you so happy in the long haul and safe you furthermore energy on the long run. Temperature Controller Thermostat 220V Digital Control Switch -40â"žÆ’~120â"žÆ’ UK Z1S2 | eBay

that's a bit much no??

my plants are at 80-83 F and loving it. i keep the roomtemp a bit hotter with LED than i did with HPS cuz the plants seems to thrive in it.

With your exaust air i would just mount that controller unit and maybe and rpm controller as well so you can run the fan on 1/2 1/4 speed. its an easy and cheap upgrade and a simple DIY project to do. and it will give you 100% godmode actived power over your grow area :D

When working with AC eletricity most people can do these small jobs without killing them self i think, if not completly mental challenged :D
