Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:circle-of-love:Hi sundrop, I am sorry about this. As holiday is coming and the delivery comes to it's peak season, rough handling happens more often. The new fans has shipped last week. Maria has sent you the tracking number.:Namaste: If there is still problem, feel free to contact me and Maria.:high-five:
Sara- here's an update... Maria replied to my email stating that they'd ship 2 new fans to me. all well and good, but i'm not happy with repairing something i purchased that is brand new and not functioning (new) out of the box. had i purchased this from a walk in store, i would have asked for a replacement unit immediately.

knowing replacement fans are coming, i went ahead and opened the unit - i found that all 4 support struts on both fans were broken and the fans were hanging by their wires. the only saving grace with this is your super quick response - none the less, i'd like the new fans shipped over night and not shipped 'whenever'

i've attached a picture showing where i have applied epoxy to get me over the hump - luckily, i have a bank of T5s to get me by.

thanks again for your prompt response - that in itself will keep my future business

:circle-of-love:Hi Stoney, please no worries. We are the same manufacturer.:hugs: As they will ship from China, it's very likely for two or three pieces to break during long journey. :rollingeyes:They are very cost-effective and we couldn't take the risk.:trance: So these led bars are only for whosales order.
Well it is sad that they are only selling the bars in bulk. Kinda makes me feel crappie. I could really use 2 or 3 of these and really hate that I will have to get something similar from another company. I would have liked all my led lights to be uniform from the same manufacturer.

:circle-of-love: Hi Glitch, the spectrum can be customized. You can test them out in advance but th wholesale price is only available for wholesale orders.:high-five:
Yeah I know what you mean. I honestly don't them selling them in such bulk pieces without people like us testing first

:circle-of-love: Hi Stoney, for individual growers, we don't recommend led grow bars because of it's wholesale orders. :high-five:
It will be a fail on Mars I bet my hole set up on it. No one trust led that much to make such a investment without being able to get only a few at a time without paying crazy if you don't like. From what I am reading they will charge you 3x the amount if you don't come buy more after you get a few to test. Like they keep your card on file and if you don't get more they charge you more for the ones you already got. I feel I won't be dealing with Mars much more if this is the direction they are going in. This is not good for the average consumer (grower)

:circle-of-love:thanks for the advice, randy.:hugs:
It's OK Stoney had to buy a reflector light from another manufacture when Mars was out and it play's well with the Mars lights besides it gives you a comparison too judge by if you look Amazon and eBay both have led strips and LED T-5 replacement lights. My only question is why not just use the $60 something old style more light and cheaper and they won't mind hanging in any odd direction.

:circle-of-love: the old model 300 doesn't have IR. MarsII1200 has IR light. Stoney, you can add some UVB lights. UVA is not that much useful.:Namaste:
I plan on using it 2 60x5 300 Watt I have. I had one for a few months and just got the other one I would just like to get a few with the flowering spectrum and ir to make up for what the Mars ll 1200 lacks in spectrum and tto add a little more IR if possible. I was thinking of getting some UVB and UVA lights to help boost THC potential

:thanks: thank you, David.

:circle-of-love: Hi santb, our recommend distance is 60cm from the light to the canopy. If the plant height is added with the pot height, I think 160mm will be ok.:dreamy:
Hey guys I'm having a little trouble designing a grow box for my 144x3 Reflector that I've now owned for 6 months and only turned on to test... Yes I'm lazy but it's summer here so go a couple of outdoor projects to keep me going.
So I got a 144x3 Reflector; I wanna grow 2 plants at a time in soil/coco in a smart pot swick. Hoping to get a zip per plant minimum (I don't need much), but not expecting miracles, esp. first couple of grows. Eventually wanna try scrog, but for now I am happy to LST. I don't really want to veg any longer than a month, and am hoping for less veg time than that.
Basically I just need a MINIMUM height. I want to keep the box as small as possible. The surface area will be approx. 600mm x 1000mm (about 2 ft x 3ft). Security is the issue for me, and I have got a lot of space but no walls or cupboards to hide the box so a small one could go in a corner of my workshop, and be covered with tools and crap, which is perfect camo. I am untidy.
Was originally planning a 2 metre high cabinet but for 2-4 oz I know I don't need that height. I can sew up my own smart pots so can make any size/shape pot so any and all advice or ideas welcome.
Cheers and happy non-religious xmas to all!

:party:awesome harvest, LEDCanuck! You are a master of grower.:rasta:
So here's another update from my first MH LED harvest. I pulled 13.2 ounces (dry) of ripe tops from my 6'x3' SCROG on the first cut. The second and final cut was completed on Friday, and there appears to be a lot more than I anticipated there would be. I am a big advocate of cutting in stages, another 7 days can do wonders for lower, scraggly buds that were being shaded by the larger tops. I have 3 1/2 of my cheap IKEA hanging racks full of buds that are now on their 2nd day of drying. Based on what I pulled from the initial cut, I'm guessing there is another 4-7 ounces left, putting my total harvest somewhere in the 17-20 ounce range which I am very pleased with. This only includes pure bud, there is still another 3-5 ounces or so of popcorn left on the screen that will be chopped/dried and used for butter, edibles and tinctures.

Here is a pic of what I have left drying:

 I have felt the scent delivered from your lines.
And some bud shots of the first cut that has been curing in hard for about 5 days:

Female Seeds - C99: very dainty sativa structure, extremely frosty, reeks of pure pineapple with hints of grapefruit.

:yahoo:mouth is watering...
And here is the Sweet Seeds - Cream Caramel - really fat, chunky, dense indica buds. Extremely complex and delicious aroma with hints of caramel, chocolate, fruit. Beautiful colouring with lots of reds, blue and purple. Excellent resin production. Monster of a plant, will end up yielding 5-6+ ounces once all the drying is done.

:circle-of-love: Hi Stoney, if you can stay with the tent, just keep it with the tent. Or you still face the risk of powdery mildew and pest.:Namaste:
Can I have your opinion on my grow area choices? So I have a basement that is great for a garden but when it rains it floods some I do have like a drain hole where all the water is lead I want to take my garden down there and flower my ladies under my Mars ll 1200 and my 400w HPS but I am worried about powdery mildew and pest. Do you think I will be ok going down there as long as I keep a good air flow and if it does flood with them down there clean the water asap? Or should I just stay upstairs in my nice little 3.3x3.3x7 tent and flower only under the Mars 1200

What exactly are those Ikea things called? They are perfect. Can't find them where I am; mite not be in my countries Ikea..

:thanks: thanks for the help, Cat.:hugs:
Tent would be easier. Maybe have a small heater in basement to help on the mildew from the coolness and dampness. And you will need good airflow. Any way to paint the walls with water sealant?

:thumb: thanks, Glitch.:Namaste:
Basement will be easier to maintain temps. Air flow is a big deal though. Look up Mr Green how to grow chronic on YouTube. He does a nice basement grow. And shows how to set it up properly. I'd bleach the area first if possible though.

:goodjob: this is really a good idea.:thanks:
I think a basement is naturally a lot cooler. So you could use a small oil filled radiator heater on wheels to keep it just at the right temperature. I have one in my Grow Room. I like it. It has a digital display on it to set the temperature that I want. Just have to keep the dampness out. Check on YouTube.
