Watered the ladies again last night, everything looks ok..still a mag deficiency which I don't understand - -
Also burned em a bit, as I was mixing my nutes last night I realized the watering from the night before had nutes for 1gal when I only made up a half gallon! Doh, over medicated as usual..
Luckily it was just a bit of burn, could have been a lot worse.
Watered the ladies again last night, everything looks ok..still a mag deficiency which I don't understand - -

Got any current pics of the cal/mag issue? I always learn something looking at them.
I'm pretty sure that cal/mag are closely interrelated. Maybe you're giving them too much mg with the epsom salts? Have you thought about just upping the cal/mag dose and not giving the salts? Also the salts build up so maybe a flush will help. Good luck!

Hey Nine Leafer, thanks for stopping in. I hate the veg period, so boring - that's why I try and make mine as short as possible. Couple weeks and things should be gettin on track.
Hey Blue no pics unfortunately. I'll try and grab some, I seem to say that a lot but rarely follow through lol.
The whole mag def blows my mind. I swear it starts happening on day 2 of the transplant to the mini hempys. I dunno if it's the 100% perlite, CMH, or wtf cus I charge the perlite before hand. I stated off with just cal/mag but didn't feel I was winning the battle. Also was afraid of giving too much cal when what they really needed was the mag, that's why I started adding the epsoms along with it.
My largest Headband is affected by it the worst, followed by the the other Headband and then the Alien (whos growth has been crazy!). The BB hasn't showed much yet.
My preliminary thoughts is the 100% perlite being the issue. The roots can't get much of the water (and all the goodies) because it really doesn't wick all that good (it does ok). When I water a couple times a day the rockwool stays too wet imo and that worries me a bit. I don't think 100% perlite mini hempies is the best way to start em.
I think Coco may be my answer....
And ya I flushed em real good last night since I gave em way too many nutes last time. I think everything will be ok soon..much better than my last go around, and I guess that's what's important, though it does still bother me.

Well, I wasn't going to use coco, but a friend gave me a shitload of it, so I said, "Why not?" and started reading. Coco/perlite, OC+, hempys and LEDs. All I should need for quite awhile

Sweet, thanks 52 I'll look into it.
I'm pretty sure OC Hydro in Stanton has it in stock. They are pretty big and a lot cheaper than most places. If you pay with cash they always knock a little $$$ off the price and never charge tax

Here is the BB Kush on day 1 from 1/22/11.
I have a dispensary literally w/in 1 mile of me that carries awesome clones. Love how more and more of em are catering to growing as well.

Been working the last 2 days getting the coco ready and transplanting..3 of em are transplanted into their final pots, the BB kush will wait until next weekend.
I went with Perlite on the bottom just covering the hole, 75%coco/25% perlite the rest of the way up, and at the very top I'm going to add just a little bit of perlite to keep the bugs away.
Exciting doing coco, feels like my first grow all over again.
I'll have pic updates a bit later, trying to get everything finalized here.

So here is everyone after the transplant, they are all at 15 days veg except the BB Kush which is at day 8. You can see some leaf damage from mag deficiency, nitrogen deficiency, and also some nute burn. They are all doing well, in spite of my abuse.

AlienDawg - what a beast, tons of growth in 2 weeks. Small N def in lower leaves, I'll keep them on till they are used up a bit more.

And now the issue......the reason why I was staying away from coco and soil!
Bugs!!!!!! I think they are flea beetles, please take a look and give me any feedback you may have on the little buggers. They have 6 legs and antennae. I was pissed when I found em, they are all over and I didn't even notice when mixing up the coco.
Kinda hard to see cus they are small! Best shots I could get and I took lots, haha. I immediately went out and bought some Diatomaceous Earth and sprinkled it all over the top of the coco. Hopefully that will help, I dunno..did not want to deal with bugs.
