Maine 4-Season Greenhouse Grow

There's darkness in my heart and in your hand! Pretty nugs. Try any yet?
I dry for 5-7 days and then cure everything for at least 2 months....

The rules say " nugs must be dry and ready to smoke or vaporize"...pretty subjective...

There should be a contest for the best cure....

Too bad blew... that's a beauty nug. I'm sure someone seen that you recently harvested and said something. A mighty shame, love that nug. Hows those photos in the GH doing?
I could easily resubmit it later this month....Teddy offered to reinstate it after I told him it had dried for a week (it is dry...cheaters never win :)) but I noticed Graytail has a whopper of a bud...I think it would beat mine...so I'm going to shoot some more photos of the same bud in another week or so and see how she looks...she may even improve in color.

For sure! I think you got subjected there brother. Stay calm man, you got tons of skills and gifts to blow them away with whatever's next . Honestly that bud looked that good. Shame, I believe you. So at that rate of drying do you try for around 60 to 65 % RH for drying? I ask because the best dry and cure I've had is blue dream cbd. I made the rh that and around 75 to 80f temp. It is the most flavorful and stinky weed yet. Color retention so nice too.

I am still figuring out the cure...I tend to air dry them (in a hanging mesh tray) for anywhere from 4-7 days depending on the RH...I dry until they feel crispy on the outside but still a little bendy..then into 1/2 gallon jars with 62% Boveda packs...and then I watch them during the first 2 weeks in jars to make sure they aren't too moist, etc. After that I let them cure for as long as possible. I have jars in there from last summer still...

I didn't bud wash the DDA this time either...I wanted to see how her smell would be, and indeed it is pretty amazing. I had been getting feedback that my buds were lacking flavor and aroma...so I am working on that as well...

Are you suspecting the wash is creating the lack? I haven't washed yet but the outdoors girls are going to get it. Funny I looked at the dda and first thought was you washed and made the super color retention. Anyway the most impressive drying I've done has been with highish humidity 60/65% One time. Again, I'll let you know if it repeats. I can't always repeat the conditions too.

Yes, I suspect that...but cannot confirm. I have asked around and gotten lots of good feedback. My wash bucket always has tons of nasty shit in it, so I am left deciding which is preferred? I decided I would not wash the DDA to see how she cured...I plan to run several of them next summer, so I can do a better comparison of wash vs non-wash. I will still wash buds for me, but I also do Christmas baskets for friends and family and if they can smell awesome (with the dust, dog hair, pollen, etc) in there...so be it! So many people look at me sideways when I say I wash the buds...who am I to convert??!

But I can say the DDA smells...spectacular.

60-65% is perfect RH for curing...my basement for the last 10 days has been between 55-60% RH, so I was happy with the buds drying for 6-7 days before jarring.

Perfect. Now burping the jars every day. I don't know how long I really need to do this. I'm at 3 weeks now with one girl. Her jars still improve to my nose. I don't know if it would improve without my burping them as well. Theres another study. I usually go from 1 to 3 weeks burping

Yeah, the burping is a pain...I open them every 2-3 days to check and smell, but I am able to do so with the Boveda packs. My understanding of the burping is you are allowing the chlorophyll to escape...it can cause a hay taste...I prefer to let them dry longer in the open (and preferably in a 60-70% RH environment) specifically so that the chlorophyll can escape...the into jars, where all I am concerned about it mold at that point.

But again...I'm still figuring this out!

Me too figuring things out. I like best when they go in jars and the meter says 60 or 63% after 24 hours . It's good to get close before jarring I think.

Nice looking Bud from the DDA , if you don't win you should get in the runner up anyway . I know we talked about getting started late wel so far i think 5 days after pop we have C-4

And the Northern Lights Auto

I did mess the ground up some to get rid of the green cover .

I decided to put the closeup of the DDA in the PhotoOTM instead. There were 21 nugs and several were excellent, so I'll possibly enter her on a slower month.

54F this morning....getting into that time of year with hot days and cool nights (versus these summer heat wave night) which are ideal for resin building in the flowers. DTF, Carnival, Stanksberries, Blueberry are all in flower.

A quick visual of bud-rot...the first pick is a happy bud...the second is showing the early signs of rot....
