Maine 4-Season Greenhouse Grow

Are you a seed collector or do you fly by the seat of your pants?
Neither, just sticking to a schedule. I have 2x autos that already popped and I need 4x for the first of 2x runs in the winter tent.

You in Portland AIH??? Nice town, loved Oregon in general, Portland one of my favorite places I've ever been to. I traveled a good bit when I was younger. Man the smoked oysters and the Salmon.... yummmmm.
Portland (and Seattle) were funky, quirky, affordable & fun in the 70s & 80s. By the end of the latter decade, Seattle was scourged by gentrification, ratcheting up the affordability with every wave, killing everything cool, as always. Gentrification is just ethnic cleansing with money instead of bullets & the fun, funky, & cool are always the 1st urban casualities.

Portland dodged those bullets through the end of the century, remaining fairly cheap & easy, allowing the local scruffy arts scene to flourish. Particularly music, with a homegrown scene that included post-punk, alt-country, & straight ahead & avant garde jazz.

But a few years into the century the word was out, population ballooned, particularly post 2010. Per usual it killed most of the character—ugly & extremely overpriced 5 story condos & apartments have metastasized, killing quaint neighborhoods, driving out the working class, self-supporting artists, supplanting them with moneyed tech types, trustafarians, rich retirees and the overpriced crappy trend-of-the-moment bars & restaurants frequented by the moneyed New Portland. Traffic’s horrible, parking’s impossible & their ain’t much character left.

Some remains: it still has the highest # of strip clubs per capita, including the oldest continuously operating club on the West Coast. Vice is nice!

But overall, I don’t know anyone that liked Portland 10 years ago that can stand it much, now. RIP, Glad you caught it when you did.

Enough of that, though. Came back to this fine thread (pardon the derail), because we’d discussed the sheer number of rec. dispensaries in Portland & I just ran across this map done by a local cartographer:
Based on the analysis, the cartographer concluded that 50% of the metro population lives within a 10 minute walk to a dispensary!

Grow on!

Yup, cold day today!

I'm not ready for winter yet!
I used to live where the seasons blurred into one another...I now appreciate having them strongly delineated...

One thing's for sure...I love tucking into a big steaming bowl of stew (or soup) with some fresh bread...not nearly as comforting as when it is 80F/80%RH!

We're doing crock-pot chili with cornbread tonight.
:drool::drool:
I definitely love getting down on some "comfort food" when it is cold.
:passitleft:

Im thinking a nice big chuck roast with veggies.

Pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, roasted carrots....all of it!

I plan on cooking much more over the fire this winter. Already we have had some great nights cooking steaks and veggies over the open flames. Cornbread in the dutch oven with lots of butter. Marshmallows...always.

There is a beautiful book called Mallman On Fire...most sexy outdoor cooking book I've seen...the imagery is beautiful and the guy is just too cool (elder Argentinian).

Well, we thought Thanksgiving was our last group of guests on the farm but a couple sneaked in for the weekend. Even though they delayed the deployment of my tent, I am thinking there was some cosmic poetry in the actual amount we receive for their stay....
