Maine 4-Season Greenhouse Grow

With the long dark winters it definitely is nice to have activities outside and "special"...and pork and beans just tastes so damn good in an enameled bowl in a tent with the snow blowing outside! We eat, play music, talk about stupid shit and laugh our heads off...priceless really. With our summer rental I see so many kids that don't know what to do with themselves outside...my kids are constantly doing something active (on their own initiative) and when they aren't they fully embrace the slow pace...reading, drawing, building lego death machines....only my dog has a better life. :)
Your kids are very lucky! I'm convinced the biggest thing we can do for kids is PLAY WITH THEM. Everything about it is good.

I look at time as my biggest asset, and I choose accordingly where, how, and with whom I spend it. My kids always get first priority because I know it is a fleeting opportunity.

You got it. Mine are 30 and 27. We (mostly my wife) new to keep close back then. Now it's a real treat to see them and an honor to see the people the've become. Both living a good life. One of em lives in Maine too. I'm not too proud and happy though. Right

I'm glad some people still spend time with their kids... 3years ago, was leasing a farm from a family... The wife would bring two daughters(3/5) down to the barn to see the horses and I always made an effort to play with them cause dad was a real shithead and ignored them unless he could use them to his advantage(not joking here either).... Got to the point where the kids would come running to the barn whenever I drove in after work just to see me.... Was sad to see.

it's stupid hot up here in Ontario today as well... Humidity can eff off... I'm ready for fall and winter lol

Talking to a guest at our cottage and they were saying "my (9 yr old) kid doesn't listen to me"...like that was that and nothing could be done...my wife said my expression was priceless...she comes back from the grocery store in the summer shaking her head in disbelief at the way kids (from away) behave and talk to their parents.

The quality of the fabric of society begins at home...period.

yup, definitely nailed it, I think society in general is broken.... But I guess that's the evolution of our specie's... Getting dumber, distracted and distant.
We need to re-evalute society's definition of "success"...working overtime to keep up with minimum payments is insanity...no time for family or life as it should be...more music videos need to be about about saving money, avoiding debt, eating right, getting a good night's rest, telling someone you love them, growing high grade cannabis....:p

Those kids will remember you for the rest of their lives. You did a good and liked it. A distant cousin came to visit years ago with a young son he adopted. We played and had a day of it. During that time he asided me and said " I wish you were My dad". I'm choking up now 20 years later recalling. Bad things happened to that child later in life and has been in jail etc. That's the difference. Borderline TMI .. Excuse please. So... it's hot. Is it as hot as the hinges on the gates of hell?

I hope they do! I envision a not so pleasant future for them unfortunately, the environment was abusive and controlling. Cheating on his wife etc etc. Sad to see....

and 38 Celsius was what it read in the shop, not including humidity lol

My kids look at me like I'm nuts when I get on em about crap like that. But, damn! It's getting harder & harder because they're exposed to all the other brats at school again now. Even the school administrators are catering to the kids.
As technology keeps progressing, making it easier to be lazy, it's only gonna get worse. Kids need butterfly nets & bb guns, not tablets & cell phones.
:passitleft:

it's only gonna get worse.

Without a doubt.

Had a family this summer stay for 4-days...horrible all around...the first contact I had with them (before all the dumb pre-arrival questions, which could they could have easily answered with a little Google, reading, and brain power) was..."door won't open"..."light is green...nothing happening"...this is a family of four, looking at a door (in a cottage on a farm in Maine) and after entering the 4-digit code...the door didn't automatically swing open. I was at dinner with my family...I texted "turn the knob"...."ok, that worked!"...I kid you not...now I have a label on the deadbolt that says "turn knob"....like the "hot contents" on the coffee cups for the idiots in the herd. Their first instinct, as a family unit, was to whine-text. This family left us our first non-5 star review (out of 50+)...3-stars...they felt entitled to cast their opinion that the "heat wave made for a rough stay" ....only about 5% of homes up here have a/c...our cottage does...but for them it just wasn't cool enough...

Too many soft, stupid, people with no sense breeding this very minute.....they are the Zombie Apocalypse.

Well, I am experimenting with the watering. I watered yesterday and went up there today to spin the pots...some felt like they hadn't been watered so I checked and they were all somewhat dry...so I figured I'd try to give them another watering...they took it all just like yesterday...all their pots are tight (with root ball) so I am wondering about my watering schedule now...every other day? More?
