Re: Magnus8's - Coco Coir - Big Bud & Pineapple Express - First Grow Ever! - Grow Jou
Hi
Sorry for being lazy, but what soil are you using? Could be a nute burn.
And give hugs to wife and yourself for doing this trip I back read the other day and read about it
Hi AngryBird,
I'm growing in a coco/perlite mix. Didn't know any better when I was doing my research and saw a video where the guy said this was the best way to grow. All the advantages of hydro without the problems of soil.
I don't think it's nute burn. I stopped in at my favourite store today before my appointment and the nice lady, whose opinion I trust very much since she's been growing for 20 years now, said it sounded like light burn.
I'm happy to report that, though the discolouration hasn't lessened at all, it hasn't advanced any, either. And it hasn't happened on any of the other plants. Rather, all four are still growing strong and peacefully. I'll have my daily pics up tomorrow morning and everyone'll see how well they're doing, especially compared to where they were last week. Today is day 16 since they poked their little green heads up (for the Pineapple Express; the Big Buds both sprouted a day later, so today is day 15 for them, really) and though they might be a little behind other 16-day olds, I couldn't be happier.
AngryBird, I was reading the journal of your first grow. How sad, what happened. I really felt for you. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you growing them for medicinal purposes for your hubby or something? I could be mixing that part of the story up with someone else, though. Regardless, how sad. Do you have other grows of yours you could recommend I take a look at where the results were more positive for you? I'd really like to check out a grow of yours that had beautiful, bountiful endings, a plethora of positives, a cacophony of coughings. You get the picture.
Anyway, the storm coming back from the doctor's office was horrendous. The wind was clocking in at 53 km/hr, and the snow was drifting in one white, opaque sheet across the highway for 2 hours. Couldn't see our lane, couldn't see the other guy's lane, couldn't see shit. The speed limit was 110 km/hr, but no one was doing more than 90 the whole way home. No one passed us, and we passed no one. No one was willing to try to go by anyone no matter how slowly they were driving. Truly, it was harrowing.
On a difficult note, the doctor was "aggressive" with the needles today (his word, not mine), and so he told me I'd feel a "bit more pain than usual after our treatments." Yeah, right. I can feel the sonsabitches already in my back. I'll have to take a couple of T4s just to be able to nap, my back is hurting so badly right now. I truly cannot wait for my harvest, though I'm kinda saddened when I realized that I was likely to get only about 7.5 or 8 ounces at the very, very most out of this grow (and that's pushing the scale). I should have grown more seeds, since I even have the seeds to grow. But I was trying to save some for the next grow. But now I'm afraid that I'll run out before my second harvest is in. I'm really going to have to get that 1000w light in here soon if I'm ever going to be able to set up my perpetual harvest like I want to.
Hey! On a great note: My tent came in today! Picked it up from where UPS left it. Haven't taken it out of the box yet. Will do that later tonight. The room isn't ready yet for the tent to be set up. I've got to take down one 8 foot folding table and store it somewhere, and move the 6 foot kitchen table I've been using in there when I used to use the room for making soap (another story for another day; I'll tell you about it if anyone asks) out of the way. I'm going to keep the kitchen table in there as a desk/working table and set up my huge shelving unit in there, too. Damn, that small trailer bedroom is going to be PACKED with shit!
Anyway, I'm exhausted. From the trip. From the storm. From the shots. From the day. Going to sign off and head for a nap.
