Lost In The Fog

Nice fixing CraZ! Now you can stay out of control all the time.......

Lol Otter, I don't know how to tell you this but I never felt so much control of my life as I do right now. It's amazing, every thing seems to fit and I'm having a flow for once with almost everything. If it wasn't for this damn corona I would probably be on a plane over to Otterville camp for a visit. :laughtwo:

Hope this next meeting with HR, human resources, and my doctor goes well and I can step up to 75% next month.

Today's latest thing from the printer is a wheel for my workshop vacuum cleaner!

But I actually made a project without involving the printer for once in almost a week,
a kief sifter I have been thinking of making but never got to it.

It's very simple and I guess any Joe could make it with a little craz patience.
The jars stack in each other and make a perfect candidate for a used coffee prezzo filter
from a busted one I have saved for this use.

I took a lid and made a holder for the filter and cut the same pattern with a heated cardboard cutter
and pressed it together with some epoxy and with some crazy weight system
over it involving a 5L bucket full of water lol.

Results are amazing, very easy for me to just save trimmings in the sifter jar and another
one beneath it stored in the fridge and just shake once in awhile.

Nice! That looks like a good amount of kief to me :yummy:

I'm curious: Are those wet or dry trimmings? Have they been frozen? In the fridge you say - to cool down the trichs so they fall off easier or something, sort of half way bubble hash method?

Awesome! Go and get em for the 75%!

Those are dry trimmings I just stored in the fridge since they were dry. No freezing, but I showed it in the freezer after this first sift to see if I missed anything. No idea how the bubble hash method works but I've heard something about ice? :laughtwo:

I usually save every stick and leaf when hand picking the buds before grinding it up, this also gets stored in the fridge for future processing. :)

I got quite the collection now of different kief from various strains in my stash. Will get a kief press some day or build one and press some nice hash from it.

When I started growing I didn't save anything but the buds, now I take every chance chasing da gold dust. :cheesygrinsmiley:

OK! My plan is to try making some bubble hash - I have saved all the trimmings ever since plant #1 in the freezer.

Oh, I do have a 4 piece grinder that is building up kief in the bottom chamber. The kief also accumulates on the inside of the walls of one of the parts - I've sprinkled some of that on some Js, so I know it has an effect :D

Then you got loads to sift through by now :)

got one of those grinders as well but I think the fallout is less than it should be, could be it's been so packed with raw material :)

think I got a smaller micron filter from another prezzo I pushed the bottom through to make another sifter, but this time I think I will print one...

while taking about printing... I just ran through my first 70m spool of plastic. :laughtwo:

:blunt:

you already seem to be self sufficient for plastic parts!

A metal sinterting printer is surely the next addition to the workshop? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Now its just skills in Fusion 360 that sets the limit to what I can achieve with that, well I need to test ABS and those exciting carbon fiber filaments before I move up in on the ladder with this but it's a new world to me now that's opened up. :nerd-with-glasses:

Nothing cool yet. A dog that came on the SD card and a Benchy..

Great first print man! My dog came out like done with a 3d pen more than a precision print like these printers should do but when one gets the hang of the Creality slicer its a piece of cake! :)

Have you installed the auto leveler, or is it arriving later don't remember what you said about that...? Stoner memory...

:passitleft:

No auto leveler yet, it should be here in the next week or so.

Couldn't reply in your thread T so I make a reply here instead. :)

First of all, nice growing! Plants look amazing, and sorry to hear about that dud driver opened it up? It could just be a fuse that's been blown, these things are built to handle floods and earthquakes. :laughtwo:

Damn your printer seems extremely well calibrated from factory, had to calibrate the extruder stepper on mine the other day... layers looked like a chess board lol. But I'm getting rather satisfying prints now, wish it was faster though.

Bought another 2,2kg 750m spool of PLA the other day so now I'm hopefully set for this summer with PLA. The collection of bottom prints and calibration pieces is getting big, would be really nice to make own PLA. :)

Long due update, still no grow though but ideas regarding grows are still popping in my head. The reason for not growing is I'm waiting for an inspection of the new front door.

Over to Science dept...

I'm working on a new way of scrubbing the smell away from exhaust air from grows, I studied the way Ozone works and it seems its not very healthy in larger concentrations to either humans, animals OR plants and specificly photosynthesis.

BUT, it seems like an active carbon filter will filter Ozone away from the air, over time the filter will be clogged with this as well but what doesn't clog a filter over time we all know this as growers.

Will try to build this contraption and test the hypothesis about this, test it against myself and plants. If we live this will be a success and probably generate zero smell. This is one of the very positive things with ozone it breaks down smell from even smoke, animals and other stuff used them before in cars when trying to get rid of smoke smell.

Sweet kief tumbler CraZy:roorrip:. Was in the works before i took a nasty spill. Did find freezing the dry flower and trim did help knock the trichs off quicker during the shake down. Glad to hear all is well with you and the family. Haven't been able to drive (manual shift) for awhile but my sisters have been picking up the slack with mom.:passitleft:Hoping i'll be up moving and grooving again in 8 or 10 weeks.
