LMAO Cloning For Dummies

My little plant nursery is an experiment, and I already had the clear containers so I can see whats goin on in there easily. It is also a training aid for me to test equipment I plan to use in my grow. Only change to my basic idea is this cool little $8.00 pump. Lilolme is kinda a deceptive user name. My plants listen to everything from bluegrass to Five Finger death punch

The stems are above the water. They are just in the spray. I think would be best to have the roots in the dark. My cloner is a black bucket that no light gets in.

As with most things I have read opinions on both sides. I went with the it doesnt matter side. Plus its an experiment and I wanted to see whats goin on without havin to take stuff out. Basically I do whatwver my ideas and my gut lead me to and take anything I read with a grain of salt. I have the mechanical part workin and have added, tweaked, and have ordered several different things to try.

This is a badass little pump I have found several uses for. Its perfect for drainin and refillin my fish aquarium and I can now mix nutes in a five gallon bucket and use the little pump to get it to the plants and when waterin time comes I just drop it in the toilet tank. The on off switch I found to be very handy. The lighter bro is a smokers pocket tool kit I really like and use a lot. $12.00 on Amazon

I used up most of my 15 gig per month internet programing my new iphone so I have to limit my use for now to off hours. I get up early anyway.

I like seeing all the fun Macgyver (original! Not this new remake!) stuff you get up to. I have a feeling that if we dropped you in the mountains somewhere, gave you enough duct tape and a swiss army knife, you'd have a fully loaded automated grow op up and running in 6 months...

Ok checkin in, the twig may go in some coco soon, watchin the formation of brown sort of slime I knew was comin, seemed to increase a little when I added nutes but it occures in my water and may not be a bad thing, still the original water. Clone 1 is starting to veg, should I top her? Clone 2 aka crash victim is doin great so far. Watchin for roots they got root powder and are sittin in the warm water but in the powder/pebble tube seperate from the tank water.

Merryanna yes that's pretty much the same way that I am looking at it if an animal can go ahead and eat the branches of the plant and the plant not care why should it make a difference of cutting off a branch I see a lot of post where people are worried about killing their mother plant by taking a clone I have cut down trees and they just pop right back up actual trees the when does a lot of stress damage to plants it's like taking a kid out of a stressed-out home and putting them into a good home they don't really know how to act same concept with plants we took them out of the Wild and into our houses

Lilolme trying out different equipment is always a good thing it's the only way we can find out what new works if someone's not willing to try it it will never get done all discoveries are made with imagination you got to be able to picture it before you can see it

Four weeks one day in flower I am in complete shock over them.

Never sell me anything that says unbreakable or no questions asked warranty. If this thing survives this pic will be goin to the manufacturer

This is kind of funny apparently I don't know how to kill a plant both cuttings I took 6 days ago put in two Gatorade bottles one with few ounces of water and one with very little water I took them out of the bottles today just see how dead they would be they are perfectly fine seeing healthy leave still standing only one leaf turn yellow and fell off and it was on the one that was in the most water so today is the first day they are going to be exposed into air since the day they were cut this will now be the third extreme stress that they have dealt with they were cut off thrown in a bottle no care did not pH the water thrown into a box for six days no light No oxygen and then thrown back in to real air instantly

Can somebody remind me how to kill a plant apparently I forgot I expected this to take several attempts

Send them to me I can kill them in 3 days

I'm moving on to cloning attempt #2 with a whole new (to me) method. I bought the little plastic container for $1.12 at Wal-Mart. The air pump, tubing, and air stone cost me $23.00 I had the black paint that I used to paint the plastic container black after I hand sanded it. One coat of primer then a single coat of black. I ordered the neoprene inserts for the holes in the top. They should be here in about a week. I couldn't wait that long to cut the clones. If it works as I am hoping I *should* have roots by the time they get here.

This is the new setup I made today in about 10 minutes. The water was mixed with the Clonex Solution at the rate of 25ml per gallon.

My previous cloning attempt has not had the results I had hoped for initially. After 15 days I broke open the first of three peat pellets to check out the roots. NADA.........ZILCH.....not a root in sight. I tossed that pitiful looking cutting into the trash. The other two are still sitting in the aluminum foil tray. I give them a little water when the pellet starts drying out. I will not do more then that except to plant them if roots shoot out of the pellets. Or bury them if they die.

I hope at least 2 of 4 of my clones root...would be nice ...I'm kinda impatient ...I can veg mom for however long I guess since I'm not worried about height til she reaches like 6ft

Trimming a little today, took off some I would like to have played with but no more rooting in flower and waiting to reveg for me. I did find a bunch of white things hiding from me
