If you don't know something, teach yourself
You can learn anything on youtube, and nobody looks at you like you're stupid cause you need to watch it 6 times before you get it...
Oh, and believe in yourself. Thinking you can do something is about 90% of success.

Buddy, i genuinely believe that you have to do the first time grow with free seeds/clones. You are more relaxed (not stressing about all the money you spent, this better work, this better work), and i think you get to enjoy it more. Just use what you have, take it 1 day at a time, and (*sorry*) don't expect giant branch breaking buds your first time around. I STILL screw up and get weird looking growth and forget to check drainage & i've been at it for a good while.
This is your hobby, it's supposed to be fun!
 
Thanx my first grow I had 2 ....both together produced 4.5 ounces....this just being a weird plant has me worried cause I want it to do good to see it thru....I'm investing in supplies 1 thing at a time with the budget I have but I'm taking in info and taking notes
 
I got my little cfl bulb set up so as soon as my 2 ft 6 bulb light comes in I was gonna put that on mom and not use the 4ft light and put the cfl on the clones...the cfl bulbs are 5000k and might help ....I'm not sure what bulbs are coming with the t5 but hopefully more towards the 5-6000k

I went from lets try it the old gashioned way to every trick I can use. I already had some root powder and my little water feature is workin good. I want to grow my cuttings next after my current grow does its thing.
 
Yea I like your lil setup....once I get more experience I want to try hydro but I think that might be out of my league...plus where I'm at if power goes out I'm screwed for no telling how long
 
Setting up my new iphone at home used up most of my 15 gigs my dish internet fot this billing cycle which has a ways to go till the next one so pics have to be uploaded in the middle of the night so there wont be many from me for a little while. Everythings goin good. Tryin a way to use root powder in my nursery. Theres a tiny hole in the fake cork that keeps the water level constant without circulating it and I can keep it in the warm water without rinsing off the powder.

The powder I used was given to me...never opened...I want to take more cuttings but don't want to over do it...I want to try different methods on cloning without getting all scientific ...I'm a simple guy
 
My new phone is awesome. Imagine this in 50 inch hd. I can mirror my phone with my tv and zoom in pics for closer looks with amazing clarity.

I saw the leaf tips being trimmed as part of the rooting procedure, what is the purpose for this?

I like to keep things simple too but I am in search of an easy quick efficient way to root or save parts of plants that would have otherwise been thrown away.
 
I can run through and teach you how to insure your clones survive the cup thing is just to prove a point as for wanting them cheap and fast it's normally one or the other I can teach you how to make them grow fast but they will grow fast their entire life which means they will get huge
 
Merryanna you're not kidding on thinking you can do something is the majority of it I am full of myself according to my wife I can take clones off of a plant through the plant away and know that I can ensure that they will live I'm starting to wonder if I can kill a planet at all it's 4 days now and those cuttings are still in the bottle in the dark thriving
 
907 you can make a clone machine out of a 5 gallon bucket and an aquarium pump the higher the oxygen is in your water the faster your clones will root this is the reason that Hydra works so well the hardest part about Hydro is meaning the temperature of your water because your room can heat up and draw you never know if your water is going to be cold or warm this can become a problem other than that growing Hydro is great faster vejiga but it does not produce more bud I can run them side-by-side and not have much of a difference but a couple grams
 
The reason for cutting the ends of the leaves in the cloning process is the fact that you're plant only holds so much food energy inside it after you cut it off of the tree itself by cutting The Leaf tips you're cutting down the energy that it will use food-wise to root itself can focus more energy into rooting and not as much into keeping it leaves alive this is the reason that cologne start to turn yellow as this is the reason that clones start to turn yellow when they start getting ready to root
 
ImHigh85, would you be adverse to having other easy cloning techniques showcased here? I love your method. :battingeyelashes: I haven't read more than the first and last page though and I don't want to overshadow your method. I was considering starting a central repository for easy and successful cloning techniques and it appears you already have this running.

I'll have to try this. I use TOAST's produce bag technique, so simple it's almost sinful, much like your method. :laughtwo: I never trim my leaves, and that hasn't been a problem from day one. I'm running 100% success. Looks like your method hits that same mark.

Would you rather I start a more general thread?

Your wife should have a chat with me mom. The woman thinks i'm built out of ego . Used to be a teacher, just noticed that when i told the kids they could do something (MATH)they thought was difficult (and they believed me), they could do it. So, i started telling meself i could do stuff, like changing a tyre, spiking a volleyball or building a greenhouse, it just kinda happened... been a believer ever since .

There ya go. :high-five: Expectation is everything. I try to make mine joyful. I find I learn better when I laugh a lot. Boy, do I grow in the right virtual neighborhood. :laughtwo:
