LKABudMan Grows In Soil: White Widow, Hindu Kush, & Purple Haze Fem Photos, FFHF Soil, Sponsored By Prescription Blend

I just love that freaky looking Betty bud. Never seen anything like it. Awesome.
Yea @Jungle Joseph I'm still waiting to see how much of that is bud and how much is leaves. It SEEMS like it might be all bud in there but I guess I'll see when I chop her.

Where'd you pickup that freeze dryer? Looks like Harvest Right has the market to itself, so I assume that's the brandname you're hiding in the basement yeah? You made it sound cool and now I want one. I got some "money to invest if the market crashes again", but I'd be willing to peel open the money clip if there's a good deal to be had on a new toy. You got pull on a discount or do you know a brick-n-mortar where I can use my gypsy haggling skills? I hear my dad groaning from the otherside every time I pay full retail... his wallet was a sightless albino, because it only came in contact with the sun once every 20 years.

Weekly Temperatures

Its mostly been cool and dry in the basement, which is right where I want it for now. I am not sure these ladies agree, though. Well, that and they haven't been watered in a while. It had been six days for Abby and she looked pitiful. She was limp and yellow with her soil pulling away from the edge.

I gave her and Jenny two liters of water each. Not a full drink, but enough to perk her up a little. Betty is still not ready for water quite yet so I'll check her again tomorrow.

I can tell I'm close to harvest when I walk out of my upstairs bedroom and immediately smell the girls in the basement. It's a good thing my wife loves the smell or I'd have a big problem.
Coming to the end of the 9th week and I'm finishing up this grow playing with the drought again. I'm keeping Abby's watering to a minimum for the next week, just enough to keep her alive. Jenny's right behind her. I think I could harvest now and be very happy with what I get. If I can bump up the trics in the last week even better! We'll see.

Abby (Hindu Kush 7-8 weeks) is flopping all over the place. She looks pretty sad now but I'm betting she will perk up by tonight.

Betty (White Widow 8-9 weeks)
is hanging in there and it still swelling. She is getting really frosty too.

Jenny (Purple Haze 9-10 weeks)
is really responding to the cooler nights. She gets more purple every day.

I'm sharpening up my scissors and getting my drying room ready. Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Growing.

Wow Budman! They look happy even when sagging. :Rasta:

Abby's in her 7th day of drought. I gave her 2 liters of water yesterday and she perked up a little. I'm going to wait at least another day before she gets another drink. Betty and Jenny are getting dry as well.

They're all finishing up and look and smell incredible. Everyone is getting super frosty too :yummy:
It is getting harder and harder to go through pictures of these ladies because I don't want to throw any away ;)

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Basement Temperatures

I've been going down to the basement on the colder mornings and opening the sliding glass door (there's a screen) to keep the basement nice and cool. That and the drought is really showing on these ladies. They were pampered for their whole life and now they have 60f mornings and no water!!! Abby's on her 8th day of drought and Betty and Jenny are on their 7th day. Abby and Jenny got a rescue drink of 2 liters two days ago. Today they all got a rescue drink of 1 liter.

Starting week 10 of flower and these ladies are showing signs of finishing up. The calyxes are starting to swell and the smell has gone up a notch, then another. I'm hoping the cool temperatures and lack of water is encouraging them to swell their trics as much as possible. I'd like to try to prolong the drought through the end of this week. Then I plan to water them all in the morning for one final day of sunlight. That night I'll turn off the lights and harvest 36 hours later. Of course we'll see what these ladies have to say about that ;)

Abby (Hindu Kush 7-8 weeks) is really showing the effects of the drought. She's also smelling the strongest and her calyx are really starting to swell.

Betty (White Widow 8-9 weeks) is going through her second drought. It had been 7 days since she had anything to drink before her resue drink today. One branch is about to fall off but otherwise she's holding on. And getting really frosty...

Jenny (Purple Haze 9-10 weeks) is just starting to show the effects of the droughting. She really throws some beautiful colors in distress, though. And she's always been very trichy. She still has a few white pistils but those same white hairs have been there a while. I won't be surprised to see her finishing up this week as well.

Along the lines of stressing the plants, I'm considering spiking them as well. Does anyone else spike their plants before harvest? How long before? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone and have a great week.

Happy Growing.

Thanks Bill I'm getting excited for the harvest. Your feedback is always welcome, even if the news is not what I want to hear :)
I'm not really sure what you are referring to so I included a couple more pictures of that bud. What do you see @Bill284

Now, I do know what I see in this picture:

I saw some stuff on Abby on 3/21 (See this post) but I haven't seen any pollen sacs or bananas, nor have I seen any more evidence of seeds. Of course I may have missed some. I know I've found two seeds from my first grow so I was hoping this was just a rare seed or two. Hopefully that's all it is, because there's nothing I can do about it now either way ;)

Abby starts day# 9 of her drought today and Jenny & Betty are on day# 8. I'm trying to keep them on the edge of drought but still alive. It's a fine line. I've given them a few 'rescue' drinks of 1 liter, barely enough to wet the surface.

Abby (Hindu Kush 7-8 weeks) is almost done with her drought. She still has some leaves working for her but not many. She has really swollen up this week and is looking very frosty.

Betty (White Widow 8-9 weeks) is going through her second drought, so she has fewer leaves to pull from. And she's starting to get a bit crispy.

Jenny (Purple Haze 9-10 weeks) is still not showing as many effects of the droughting. Maybe she was further done and had less need for water. I may try to push her a few more days, but we'll see where she is tomorrow.

I'm ending the drought for Abby and Betty tomorrow. Both will be drenched for the last time. I plan on putting them in the dark Friday night and chopping on Sunday. Jenny looks like she can take a day or two more for the drought, but I may end it at the same time so that I can chop them all together. I think they'll all be ready by Sunday :)

Drought Update

Abby's on drought day# 10 and Jenny & Betty are on day# 9. All of them got 1 liter of 'rescue' water this morning.

Abby (Hindu Kush)
is still hanging in there. One more day for her and she'll get that drink I've been promising :)

Betty (White Widow) is doing much better in her second drought. The first time, I droughted too early and did not give any rescue drinks. She is handling this one much better.

Jenny (Purple Haze) is still holding up pretty well for day# 9 of drought.

I know I said I'd end the drought for Abby and Betty today, but I'm going to wait one more day. Tomorrow both will get a full watering. I'm still trying to decide if Jenny will be droughted longer or harvested with the rest... Any suggestions?

Happy Growing
