Thanks for stopping by @TrilliumBubble I'm glad this was useful.I didn't know this either. Quite handy!
Very interesting @FelipeBlu So according to this they don't like to be touched at all; not by people, animals, bugs, or even other plants. It triggers a defense mechanism that delays growth. Reading this it sounds more like it slows growth while the plants are touching, and that when separated the growth should resume normally. I would love to understand this sentence more, though.I found the Article
I am pondering that one too. I think something may have been lost in translation. What I have witnessed is conflict between plants - each striving to put branches and leaves in favorable light before a neighboring plant can. I presume that would cause touch stress, but how much does that affect growth in cannabis?I would love to understand this sentence more, though.
"...when plants grow so close together that they touch one another, the retarded growth defense response may optimise access to sunlight..."
Do you think this explains some of what I am seeing with these plants and the HUGE fan leaves? Also, look at how the lower branches are reaching for the canopy with those huge fans.
On one hand I'll remove the source of the stress when I move them to the 4x4 flower tent. On the other I'm planning to scrog; wouldn't that cause its own touch stress? Or is it just the leaves?I am pondering that one too. I think something may have been lost in translation. I meant to post yesterday but ran out of time. Temps are staying pretty stable and these girls are loving it. Everyone is eating and drinking steadily, up to 1 liter/day. We are 30 days in the same bucket and they still look and smell good. I'm still topping off with full-strength nutes with the occasional bennies. I just need to make the top-off nutes in 4 gallon batches now
The roots are still looking nice on these girls and are getting big.
I still haven't snipped anyone yet and right now I'm letting everyone grow naturally. So far no issues on this grow, unless you count running out of room in the veg tent with 2-3 weeks left to go These girls are already the biggest plants I have grown so far and have a ways to go. I was trying to raise the pegboard on the back wall to stay higher than the plants. It finally got to the point where I had to lower it, though, because the air lines were not long enough. I like it better lower anyways because it allows more light to be reflected back onto the canopy.
I'm still amazed by the size of the stems and fan leaves and the number of colas that have reached to the top of the canopy. I can't wait to see what these girls can do under the scrog net in the 4x4.
I can still see through the foliage, but not much
Happy Growing.
Thanks @HappyHazmat88 if I don't keep everything documented I start making mistakes. For my first DWC grow I kept everything on clipboards. This time I'm trying to keep it all in google docs. It definitely makes it much easier to shareWow nice roots and ladies....they are coming along nicely budman... And I commend you for keeping everything so documented.
Thanks @Tkmk I wish I was ready to move them over to the bigger tent but they need to stay in here a couple more weeks. Nowhere to go but up...Talk about a full tent. DAMN. Looking great by the way
I am also blown away by your documentation. WOW. Just wow.Date: 3/16/22 - Day 30 in buckets

Incidentally, if the PPM falls before top off, they are beasts wanting more and more. Normal feeding results in a decrease after top off because you’re bringing the volume back to initial and that dilutes the nutrient solution by replacing the PPM consumed by the plant with water. After top off the PPM is constantly falling which means they could take more nutes.
They are definitely ready. Unfortunately the flower tent is not ready for them. Two more weeks??? We'll see. The plan is to take them over to the 4x4 and scrog them. The 4x4 should have plenty of room for these ladies. They are ready for flowers - I hope you have the height!
I was unclear on that. The PPMs are falling before I top them off. I am topping off with full-strength nutes so the PPM always goes up after I top off. By the next feeding it has fallen again. On my feeding chart, the first reading for the date is before topping off. The second reading for the day is after topping off. Thanks for checking in @FelipeBlu I always appreciate your inputIncidentally, if the PPM falls before top off, they are beasts wanting more and more. Then as I said - they are beasts and you had better watch your back! They are definitely ready. Unfortunately the flower tent is not ready for them. Two more weeks??? We'll see. The plan is to take them over to the 4x4 and scrog them. The 4x4 should have plenty of room for these ladies.

My input would be more helpful if I slowed down and read more thoroughly lol. But thanks! Thanks for checking in @FelipeBlu I always appreciate your input
Beautiful plants and a nice set-up. I hope your flower tent can hold them.Date: 3/19/22 - Day 35 in buckets

Spring is around the corner and the temps in the basement show it. Its been warmer and wetter and these girls love it. They've been eating and drinking well. For the first time Joan did not drop in nutes. I ended up micing some pHed water with the nutes I added to Joan and Jordy. Jazz and Jolt got full-strength nutes.
The light is in the highest position and these girls keep growing. Looking at them I think I need to get the flower tent ready as soon as possible.
I think I can get it ready by the end of next week. One more week. It looks like I may just make it. I'm getting so excited to see these girls spread out in the 4x4 in the new RDWC system. And they are definitely ready for flower.
They are the biggest plants I have grown so far. They make my ladies in flower look small.
It's going to be 80f here today and I'm going out on a date with my wife Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Happy Growing.
