LKABudMan Back In Deep Water: 4 Purple Haze Clones In RDWC

Wow! Beautiful garden and awesome set up! You’re killin it over here! :meatballs:
Thanks @candycane glad to see you back up and around. Hope you're staying nice and medicated ;) Hopefully by next week I'll have these girls in the RWDC in the 4x4 working on filling a SCROG!

Thanks @Trala I have a couple of old wheeled swivel chairs down there. They're nice when working down at the plants level.

Today is moving day! And none too soon.

I'm excited and nervous moving to a new system and new nutrients. I'll try to take lots of pictures along the way.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Those are the girls in veg?
Omfg they are feken huge, wow.
No wonder you were freken out trying to get them out of the flower room.
Hope you have a gymnasium to flower them in.
I think a hair cut might be in order before flowering, hehe.

Stay safe
Bill

Yea @Bill284 they got away from me a little. So far they are uncut. The plan is to bring them over to the 4x4, scrog them, defoliate a bit then flip to flower. I'll know be the end of today if that's going to work or not.

Good plan, I hope it works.
Jumani comes to mind, is there a tiger in that jungle somewhere?
I've had similar issues before.
You just have to sacrifice some growth to make them fit.
But nice healthy girls my friend. :thumb:

Wow, what a day. I got the RDWC system set up in the flower tent and got all of the clones moved over.

First the RDWC system. I purchased my RDWC system from PA Hydroponics back at the beginning of February. I'm glad I did, too. They're about $100 more now and sold out for a while. I was amazed when it was on my doorstep less than 24 hours after I ordered it. I put it all together in a couple of hours without any tools.

It's a 4 plant 13g falloponic system with an external reservoir. Water flows from the outside reservoir thru 3/4 inch tubing and pours into top of the grow chambers with an inline 400 Gallon per hour pump. Each plant site gets about 100 gallons of nutrient solution per hour. Included in the kit is a 265 GPH bottom draw pump with 10 feet of 1/2 inch tubing used to drain the system and reservoir. Each plant site has an airstone and 10 feet of airline to run to a 4 output air pump that's included.

The only change I had to make was to switch the pump and sightglass. When I tried to lean the caterpillar over the pump was in the way. I switched the pump and sightglass and it worked great.

I started by moving the ladies in flower over to their new tents and cleaning out the 4x4.

Then I set up the RDWC sysem in the tent. I filled it 5 gallons at a time and calibrated the site glass as I went. It topped out at 44 gallons, leaving about an inch and a half under the buckets.

Then I added 16ml of pH down to bring the water down to 5.8. I added 150ml Rhino skin (Silica) and let that circulate for about an hour. Then I mixed up 220g (5g/gal) of MC with a gallon of water and shook it up real good. This bought the system to 880ppm and 5.6pH. I then added 50ml Voodoo Juice, 50ml Pirhana, and 50ml Hydroguard.

Putting the plants in the new system was not easy. First we had to get them out of the bucket. I had to remove the airstones since the roots had swallowed the airlines. Then I removed the netpot from the bucket fitting and installed it in the new lid. The first one we moved almost fell right out of the netpot; we were much more careful after that. Finally we put the plants in the new RDWC system. I must admit they are bigger than I thought.

Then we put up the scrog net and started spreading them out. That was about when we ran out of gas and decided we would finish the scrog and defoliation tomorrow. After a couple days of recovery I will flip them to 12/12. Then we see what these big girls can really do :)

Happy Growing.

Yea, me too @FelipeBlu . I'm going to try to lower that net 8-12 inches tomorrow. It's going to be close...

@Verbalist I reclaimed this space from my oldest kids when they moved out (again) after the covid lockdown. It was their band room. The grow room just keeps getting bigger and bigger ;)

I can't call it my man cave, though, as my wife and son are down here helping almost as much as I am :)

The goal today was to clean up the girls and to get the scrog net 8-10 inches lower. I need to start lower if I'm going to flower in this tent. So we tried supercropping the plants to get them down to the right net size. And it was carnage.

Broken and split limbs everywhere. It's like something trampled the plants. The good news is that we got everything below the net. If anything survives we should be able to finish flower in this tent. I have to believe we will lose some of those limbs, though. It was ugly.

We'll see how and if these girls recover. I'm really not sure what to expect. I keep telling myself that these are clones grown with leftover nutes and there is nothing lost. Well, except for six weeks. Then again, these are weeds, right. Whatever doesn't kill them makes them stronger? We'll see if there is anything left to flip to flower...

Happy Growing.

Weekly Temperatures

Temps and humidity are both low in the basement as I finish up the last grow. Neither should be an issue and I rather like the difference in day/night temperatures.

These ladies are still eating and drinking. I checked the system today and the pH was low, PPMs were high. I added 3 gallons of filtered/aerated well water which bought the pH and PPM to a better level. It sure is nice checking and adding to one res vs. 4 buckets ;)

It looks like these ladies may have survived the trampling yesterday :) :yahoo: There are some branches that won't make it, but there are lots of buds that are popping back up. I spent a little time weaving anything that popped up back under the net, and pushing anything under the net back to the top. For right now I am trying to keep as much as possible at net level. In the next couple of days I'll remove anything that won't make it and spread the buds out as much as possible. As soon as I feel they've recovered enough I'll flip to flower. I'm hoping that's in the next couple of days. I believe I have enough room to flower in this tent as long as I do it soon.

BTW, here is the final feeding chart for these girls in buckets. I managed to go 42 days in the same buckets with lots of bennies. My strategy was to start low and top off with full-strength nutes to increase PPMs going into flower. When I finally emptied the buckets I was surprised; they really didn't look bad at all. Mostly clear, no sedminent or slime, and no off smell. It definitely gives me confidence moving forward that I should be able to veg in the RDWC without changing out the res.

Happy Growing.

A crime was committed here... you sir, are an animal and a madman. I'm walking into this movie late, buzzed, loud, and awkward, but I'm here for the show. After seeing you bludgeon four leggy beauties into astro-turf, I've got to stick around to see if they divorce you, or they try to make it work for the children...

Yea @RedskinnedRhino it felt like a crime when I was doing it. There was just no way I was going to make it to harvest with the plants as tall as they were. What was I thinking; I'm going to move from the 32x32 tent to the 48x48 tent and spread them out? That's only 4" per plant:confused: It looks like they will survive, though. Next time I'll just start in the RDWC and train them through the net as they grow.

Temps and humidity are still on the low side for now, but VPD is right where I want it. I love the way this RWDC system is maintaining pH & PPMs. I have only 'fed' the system once, with 3 gallon of tap water. I will check and feed again this afternoon.

I went down yesterday to check the damage. Not every branch survived.

And there are still plenty that may not make it.

However, it looks like enough will survive that I need to start thinking about next steps. I still need to be careful not to let these girls grow too much and overgrow this tent. So, I went ahead and flipped to 12/12 last night. I had planned on giving them a full week to recover, but they're growing so quickly I can't wait.

In hindsight, there were probably better ways to handle getting these girls in the tent. However, what's done is done. So I'm going to flower these girls and learn my lesson. Of course I'm still hoping for some nice flowers from these ladies ;)

Oh, and I have a couple of spots on the leaves starting. I'm not sure that these are new and may have been from before these girls were moved over to the RDWC system. I'm keeping an eye on it for now.

Happy Growing.

I knew you would have issues on moving day.
But it looks like they handled fairly well.
Once a month I had to move 24-30 girls.
Pain in the tucas , one flaw in my system was moving day and my back.
They are going to cram every inch of that tent, yawza it's going to be good.

Stay safe
Bill
