LKABudMan Back In Deep Water: 4 Purple Haze Clones In RDWC

Yea @Bill284 I kept watching them get bigger in that veg tent and knew it was getting out of hand. I've decided this is the last time I veg in one tent and flower in another. It means three grows a year instead of four. That's plenty for me and mine. I'll start future grows in the 4x4 RDWC system as clones and just let them grow into the net. I'm going to turn my veg tent into my mothers/clones/project tent. Hell, I may even start an auto in there. Or some peppers?

I'm really not sure how some of these branches are surviving and even thriving with the split stems. I'm just leaving them alone for now and hoping that they keep going. Because if they do, then you're right; it's going to be full of buds in here soon :)

Thanks @VetSmoke85 I wish I could say that it was done with finesse instead of brute force :lot-o-toke: Buds are popping up all over the place, though.

Man I was right with you watching that cram. Look mate handling them is not much fun, and if your attached to them even harder. But the are resilient, hardy. They look well vegged fella, those cpl woody splits would be better sealed, but the bends will be perfectly fine.

They tend to show a knuckle at any 90 degree bend in the stems. Wont do them much harm at all. The only real difference is in their adjustment in flower where instead of going vertical toward the top of the stem/cola they push vertical to the horizontal along a bent one.

I love the optimism you arent gonna hit height, def gonna have your hands full, which will be a pain, a nice one.

Well until trim.

Looking good mate. So lush and full of colour.

Thanks @DV8 do you think I should go in and seal up all of the remaining stem splits? Will masking tape do? Anything else needed?

Masking tape, duct tape, electric tape I've used them all with success. :thumb:

Stay safe

Look if possible it would be better just anywhere the split has shown through the outer layer, beyond the soft tissue and into the hard wood.

Being in a regulated tent with little outside influence it wont nearly be as bad as say outdoors but they pretty good at healing a wound site, quite amazing actually.

You can use plain old electrical tape, or duct tape, something along those lines, just keep an eye on it, replace and remove as needed.

Edit, Bills got your back lol.

I posted the controller temp and humidity because the Govee got swallowed up by the clones. I raised it some today.

The RDWC system is staying really steady. Sometimes I wonder if it's too steady. I'm used to the buckets swinging in pH and PPMs every day. This system has stayed right around 5.6-5.8 since the plants went in. I'm gradually bringing the PPMs up and have started feeding at the 5.5g/Gal rate.

I went in a taped up some of the branches and they still looked pretty bad. But these ladies are still going. I've had to tuck a few buds down but they don't stay down long.

I'm still keeping an eye on a few rusty spots on the leaves but I don't think it's progressing.

Now back to celebrating the nug of the month win:party: Just finished playing hearts now we're off to finish Our Flag Means Death. Have a great Friday night!

Happy Growing.

@Verbalist I reclaimed this space from my oldest kids when they moved out (again) after the covid lockdown. It was their band room. The grow room just keeps getting bigger and bigger ;)

I can't call it my man cave, though, as my wife and son are down here helping almost as much as I am :)
Sounds like a great family room! :)

Lookin great man!

gotta ask...where'd you snag that nifty kit for the vaporizer???
Thanks @Rexer The vaporizer came with the whip. I just added a 14mm connector to fit onto a standard water pipe. I fill the pipe with warm water to add moisture to the dry vape air. It keeps me from coughing when I vape.

Weekly Temperatures

The temperature controllers were covered by leaves again this morning. I tacked them up higher so hopefully they stay out of the foliage for a day or two.

The reservoir is really staying steady. It was a couple of gallons down this morning but I'll wait another day and add 4 gallons.

These ladies are really growing quickly and I'm still very aware that I don't have much vertical space to spare. It's been a week since the first net went in and the canopy was an uneven mess. There's so much vegetation in there it was hard to figure out where to start.

So I added another net 6" above the original net. It's really more of a guide than anything else. I'm still using the original net as an LST point to tie down any buds that are getting to tall. The upper net allows me to visualize the space I need to fill and easily see the buds that are too tall.

It worked out pretty well. Right now I have all of the foliage in a 48x48x6 section of the tent. I'm going to try to keep everything there, too, until I see flowers. Then we see how much these ladies are going to stretch ;)

I'm going to go enjoy a perfect spring day - 65f, sunny & breezy. By next week everything will be covered in pollen but it's not too bad today. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Thanks @FelipeBlu I still have some spots that are crowded and some that are bare. My goal this week is to space everything as evenly as possible while keeping it at this level. We'll see how it goes ;) Hope you're enjoying your Sunday.

I'm keeping the temperature low in the basement to encourage my other grow to finish. I'm hoping to raise them a little in the next week or two.

The RDWC system is still working great. pH and PPM are staying remarkably steady and it's really easy to top off the reservoir. I'm listening to the plants and topping off with water or nutes, depending on what they're telling me. I'm also making sure to keep plenty of beneficial bacteria in there.

Every morning the net is popped up from some buds. And every morning I'm LSTing those buds back down. I'm hoping that by the end of this week they'll be in full flower and I can let these girls start stretching. I don't see any flowers yet, but I like the trics this early.

Other than that I'm just running the system. I don't really have any automation in my tents, but I do have some monitoring equipment that I find crucial.

I use Govee wi-fi/bluetooth thermometers/hygrometers to track VPD in the lung room (basement) and in all of my tents. These all show up on one dashboard. I also have the ability to set alarms if the temperature or humidity goes out of my set parameters. This is great for quickly identifying malfunctioning equipment or other issues.

I also have two Govee water alarms. One is under the 'sink' I've set up in the basement and one on the floor of the RDWC tent. If triggered they sound an alarm and send text+email+notification. I have only 'used' it once when I left the water running by accident. It alerted me quickly enough that a couple of towels cleaned up the mess. It would have been a flooded basement at least and possibly an empty well :(

Govee also makes wi-fi outlets, of which I have a few. One of them controls the RDWC pump. So, if I get an alert that the RDWC tent is flooding, I can shut it down from anywhere. And they all show up on the same dashboard :)

I also use Wyze cameras in each tent. These have the ability to create time-lapse videos built in. I record videos in each tent using 10 minute increments (1 picture every 10 minutes). This really allows me to see what the plant is doing and adjust accordingly. You can also pull up the camera at any time and view live or playback from the last couple of days. I even got my Dad to put one in his grow tent that I can monitor his grow as well ;)

And of course a smoke+carbon monoxide detector for the grow room. The Wyze cameras have a setting that detects the standard smoke or CO alarms and will alert me via text+notification if those tones are detected.

All of this allows me to monitor my grow from anywhere at any time. Throw in a couple of smart outlets and you can really run your grow remotely. For now I'm happy being able to monitor my grow real-time and make adjustments quickly. It also allows be to check on my ladies from anywhere at anytime, something I find the need to do often :)

Happy Growing.

A set-up that makes my heart flutter:battingeyelashes:
I love how you've gotten everything setup, and it's very similar to how I have mine.

Plant canopies are looking beautiful :welldone:
Thanks @Rexer I'm loving the RDWC system so far. And the canopy is definitely looking better than I thought it would a week ago :)
Stellar garden setup! :welldone:
Thanks @FelipeBlu I like that it keeps getting easier to run.
