Light Addict's Fluxing Central - Featuring The Original Flux Journal

UPDATE

Ok LA, my plant seems to be doing quite well. I added another light closer to the middle, and the side-arm shoots started growing a lot faster. I'm going to re-pot tomorrow, i'll be picking up my new container today.

Looking at my plant, my head tells me "You gotta do something here", then another voice says "You're gonna fuck it up, ask LA!"

So here I am.

What do i do now?

Hey MRXC.

I'm doing LA's fluxing technique.

I will only top the main arm when it oneday reaches the pot end. It's a couple months before i get there :)

Hey LA.

The first "under" node's leaf I took off a while ago, but now the second arm joint's leaves were completely shadowing them. So I nipped em off.

I also took the single big bottom leaf, as it wasn't getting any light, and I took off the inward facing leaf of the 3rd flux node, as it was overshadowing the "arms" trying to grow out from node number 2.

I haven't been able to re-pot yet. I'll get it done once I get my brother-in-law to give me some of that LOS of his(he's out of town now).

I'm still on track right?

The next flux planned is going to be about 2m long :)

Just saw this and thought to myself, wow is there even a reasonable response that? Haaha
That's awesome LA lot of work ahead for you but can't wait to see the outcomee of it :)
If there's a Guinness weed records going on I'm sure you'd be holding some titles in there LA haha :thumb:

Hey LA! How was cannafest! I hope you had a great time.

On my side, the flux is still going strong, and it's almost past the point where I can no longer restrain it in the pot. I'll HAVE to re-pot soon.

I have also started 6 other seeds from the same bagstrain I like so much, but with a little experiment.

The idea behind this, came from your original suggestion (somewhere in the first 20 pages) to top above the 3rd node.

Now the sativa strain i'm growing really loves to stretch. This by itself caused my first flux to be quite stretched by topping above the 3rd. So I was thinking, would I benefit somehow in terms of size or vigor or growth time, If I topped above the 2nd node instead.

So I decided to set up my little experiment :

I initially sowed a full tray of 48 seeds. I simply put some of the same compost soil, slapped a seed in each one, covered and watered.

I had about a 75% sprout rate. I think thats good.

From here on, I chose the 6 most vigorous plants, repotted them in slightly larger containers, and set them in the same grow spot as my flux. The idea was to keep most of the other variables the same, which mainly are :

- The same strain
- Started in the same soil
- Transplanted in the same soil
- Lighted under the same lights (brand, wattage and distance from plant)
- Water at the same time every time, with the same RO water, enough for a 20% runoff for each.
- Same humidity

The only difference is, two of them I topped above the 3rd node, and 4 of them I topped above the 2nd node.

This way I can test which topping option is the best for these stretchy sativas, and should probably add some value to the flux journal once the flux arms start growing out.

And now we play the waiting game...

UPDATE!

Nobody every told me that re-potting a plant you've spent a LOT of time on can be so fucking stressful! Shiiit.

Luckily, nothing went wrong. The root-ball stayed completely in tact and the transplant was a success! I haven't quite figured out how im going to do the cross restraints, so im just keeping my two little hooks at the end of the flux for now.

Hopefully the roots are going to full that entire bucket and we end up with a 20+ arm monster!

What do you think Professor Flux?

Holy crap. This is why you're the master.

You keep pushing the limits of plant manipulation to the extreme. I still say you're gonna knock out a full 1.5kg of bud from this one (considering your 28 arm one got 600g).

I've also started to plan ahead, and it seems my main flux arms will reach the pot-end before my side-arms grow out.

I'm gonna give your pre-topped cloning method a try if my main flux arms become too long (i have limited space).

**side note** Since I know what it takes to regularly open up growth tips and adjust the tethers, how many man hours has this monster already taken?

Lol this girls structure sucks to be honest. She's very thin in the limb department. I was gonna throw in my hps to fatten her up some as hps promotes better limb structure some how! So this and the fact she is a unknown strain ro me by 710 means no massive crop this time!
This is the last plant im going down this route with, just topflight genetics from now on! I know I can trust HSO for photo and Dutch P for autos.

The best fluxes are normally hybrids as they're structuring normally suits more to the style.

As for hours spent :) this one hardly any lol. Fluxing is now almost a leave alone process for me nowadays. Ill go a cpl if weeks a time without major work. Then as I only open tips when going vert, far less work than it looks.
Yet my old Gert who was my older training method, had hundreds of hours spent!
Ill happily spend 4 hrs min a day on my garden. Even if most of this sitting staring at em :)

Also this girls stock is split bad so wont have the best flow! :(

Hey BAR lookin good there... Did you have any trouble with outdoor light when you started the LSD? As in; I got one started about 6 weeks ago outdoor (southern hemisphere), ticking along nicely; got home yesterday after a couple days away and was alarmed to see clusters of pistils at the tops (she's been topped once so far), ands a few at the nodes.
It's been a bit dark and rainy here with early-season electrical storms for a couple of weeks, and she's in a shade house (security).. I remember you had a lot of rain on yours.. you get any early pistils? Like, 5 months early??!!
Days still getting longer here, late spring now, so pretty sure she'll re-veg no probs; I hoping my pistils are the result of stormy weather making the plant think the days are shortening. Or maybe a semi-auto pheno?? Can that happen? I'm still inexperienced, esp. with "decent" genetics (non-bagseed)...
She's in soil/compost/coco, upcanned twice from jiffy pot, nice roots, topped once so far... Can only be light fluctuations...???
Or is BF LSD still a bit unstable? I've seen too many nice LSD plants online to believe that it's unstable. Everyone seems to love LSD. Yours looks like it will be very nice....

I've never grown LSD Santb but the Liberty Haze along with every other girl from the fire escape loved rainy days, especially thunderstorms. I think they get energy from the lightning. Outdoor plants always seem to flourish the following days after a good rain.

Our fire escape is in the shade approx 2/5 of the day but I've never noticed any early flowering.
