Light Addict's Fluxing Central - Featuring The Original Flux Journal

Well folks I just said it on another thread. Im gonna drop a bean in water later for a full on flux done entirely in video format for updates. This will give me the chance to explain as I work and really go into minute detail. Now Ive just got to pick a strain lol. Still got beans from Spannabis :)
Anyway this will be the last big all out detailed how to flux it up proper by me so hopefully you'll all stick about a while longer :)

I just said on another thread that I couldn't resist dropping a couple of beans in water to shadow your grow my friend.

Made my choice, one of my selection of 710 strains :)
Info copied and pasted

CheeseLabel is a sativa dominant cannabis strain that has been obtained from crossing a UK favourite with and underground UK clone that was created to replace the Cheese. The creator of the UK Blacklabel made this elite clone to retain the best traits of the Cheese such as potency but without recognizable overwhelming aroma. Since then 710 Genetics have crossed the Blacklabel with 710 Cheese with great success. By blending two great UK strains they have created a strain that is a must have in your collection.-Genetics: 710 Cheese x Uk Blacklabel (UK Clone)Sex: FeminisedType: Sativa DominantFlowering: 9-10 weeksHeight: Up to 2.5mYield: Medium- High

LIBERTY HAZE
(Feminized, Flux) Day 180

We've been opening her up as instructed by Professor Flux last week, every other day; her and her camouflage gets rotated on those days. She's getting some well deserved rain water today.

Hey LA, What do you do with your fan leaves normally on a flux? I believe my plant keeps getting shocked just by touching it lol. I took off 2 fan leaves and gently opened up the new growth tips but my plant hasn't changed for 2 days now. I'm thinking by week 5 I should be looking at more than just 1 new growth tip from each arm.

Also I snapped a main arm off my Fruit Spirit last night trying to move it under the tomato ring (Stupid I know lol) its not a very active one since it was pushed off to the side and wasn't getting much light where it was. So now its basicly supercropped and I have it supported up but I was wondering what would be the best option. Leave it alone and let the plant thats 5 weeks into flower try to fix it or do I just chop it off and let the plant forget about it and move on?

Ok lol , your having a stressful time of it... with your injured girl id leave and let her do her thing. Only if she is really struggling to kep the damaged limb alive would I sacrifice it! :)
As for fans and fluxing its a personal thing as they can be left on and tucked away. Its the new growing shoots along secondary limbs we remove, but foliage on its own is fine.
Lastly your using the wrong wire!!! Ask BAR :) you want the totally round garden wire with the same round plastic coating. Your using stuff that will lop off your lim s really quick!!!!

As fir the speed of your flux ..... give us some overall pics and ill see where were at! :)

Lol man I was not having a good day yesterday so when I snapped that branch, I just put everything down and said i'm not touching it till its done lol.

Things are starting to look good this morning though. The broken branch is still looking lively and standing up somewhat on its own. The plant doesn't seem to mind much. Also my baby looks like it started moving again. I didn't mention that before I started the journal she grew too top heavy and along with the air moving around I woke up one morning to her sleeping completely on her side. So I had piled up the coco around the stem to support her and she fixed right up but I'm guessing that pushed back the growth time a bit and along with the training I can see why its taking a bit longer to develop.

here she is this morning.

As for the wire. I got the other kind too, I just never had any problems with this thin wire and its easier to work with. but i'll switch to the fat round one later tonight anyways just in case. Any good techniques to keep it anchored to the coco? I was thinking just make it extra long so I can drive a good amount of it down into the coco. Hopefully thats not going to hurt any roots and shock the plant again lol. Thanks as always for taking the time to help.

OK lets sort a few things out for you both :)

Firstly Canad420, your girl needs 2 main fans removing asap. in your above pic you have 2 top fans sat pointing back into the center of the plant, these over shadow the new nodes were wanting to grow out for limbs! :) we repeatedly remove these leaves every time they repeat along the flux. I nip off leaving a little stem stump. this later becomes a little anchor point for the tether as you move them along.

As for anchoring etc. I'd still go like I have with garden canes, you may need thinner ones as your so close to pot rim. This lets you veg out way past the pot rim for more limbs and more colas etc.
With fluxing you do get a longer veg, so theres a tipping point as it were. You need to get a certain number of limbs to make the pay off for the extended veg worth it at the end.
My current girls are both in 5 gal pots and each end is easily over 6 inch past pot edge. I've topped one but left the other going for still more limbs. :)
Obviously its up to you and depends on what size flux you want? If say 8-12 limbs you may be ok, if more then we need to expand your tether points some how!

Med my friend :)
OK ill find a couple of pics out of my original again. Then tomoz ill get some detailed pics of my current pair of fluxes. Ones a right mess as Ive basically forgotten em all whilst working.
For when to top? We top the ends when were almost happy with the base framework size. We think ahead and try to time it so were just getting all finally set, yet the topped ends have time to mature into separate limbs to be spanned out just as all other limbs. When were in final phase before going vert we map out all sites into maximum spacing and get everything totally even.

Oh and my bubba for the video flux is in dirt and should pop over night! :)

Anyway some pics showing the filling in of center and the way I split the ends and mapped out my big girl :)
