Light Addict's Fluxing Central - Featuring The Original Flux Journal

Mate, no one, regardless of which site their on, can slag you off :Namaste: You INSPIRE, your work, your empathy with the plants, your willingness to help, your encouragement, your kind words.......these are things that set you apart and EARNED your MOTM nomination. Simply put, you're a VERY nice, VERY helpful, VERY popular guy :peace:

So this is my micro heading. You can pop it off also by simply getting the leaves of that top node pointing each way left and right as you look at her. Support the stem, and just push or pull gently on the very tip it will pop off.

Hope it makes sense lol
You do this at 3rd real node then leaving top set of leaves strip all other growth below.
Then leave to grow a bit. It wont grow in hieght as you topped her it will grow 2 new shoots that you then train once established a little

THis is exactly how i top my plants, what are they calling its. Micro topping? I've been calling it tipping for over a decade but just to myself or on my journal

Blade wasn't trying to name anything my friend, just didn't know the terminology for it so made up what made sense to me at time. He he, I aint to good apparently at making new stuff up lol.

Alex yeah simply I thought as this developed from mainlining technique, where your goin for even flow etc of nutes and energy. That it kind of made sense to go for maximum use of flow. In my eyes or mad head it seemed being able to create the amount of branches you wanted. all just producing one single colas meant even pull on everything. and seemed the most simple.
I'll let her keep her leaves just before building her vertical. Hope that help buddy.

Haha I don't care what you call it lol. We can call it micro topping if you want, maybe it will STICK.
Sometimes it seems more like fimming do to the fact that I've gotten as many as four new tips, tops haha

:rofl::rofl::rofl:I love the bloody site and all you guys this is awesome funny!

I'm going for Waffle design! Yes you heard it here first folks! lol. Its basically the double Flux. I'll do it next with my WW! Training out each shoot at 90 degrees from branch that is every quarter. But what I'll do is make sure node spacing is minimal, really tighten it up between first two node levels, then top her. It should work out with a crisscross pattern like a waffle!

I saw some pics in the gallery and was like WOW! That is some aggressive training. Very cool. I am going to have to look back through this journal. Looks like you topped very early and defoliated soon after.

Nice work! I will have to catch up.

Sub'd and +reps

Gr8 usage of space LA. I like how you're using the plant to LST itself, and you also found a good way to better space out the outer tops b/c I really thought you were gonna have a difficult time with spacing once let her tops bush out.

Great pics mate :) I'm now thinking should I "train" the nodes you've just relocated as they grow? It would make sense. On different subject....what do you feel is the minimum depth my rectangular pots should be? I now Gert is in about 4" of medium buy I was think around 8-10" ?. 2-3" clay pebbles on the bottom with 6-7" coco on top? :)

Meant to add......I'm counting 26 "bud sites" on her.......is that correct? lol :)

Thanks mate :) All the research I've done tends to suggest a couple of inches of pebbles is very beneficial for drainage :) If needed I can also add perlite but I think I'm ok. Am I right in counting 26 sites by the way? :)

quick drainage also helps draw in new air into the medium

Lol. Yeah, forgot the ends DOHHHHH :) . One thing I'm unsure of is HOW to stop the nodes growing too long? In order to have a "short/long/short/long" flux (avoiding the training you've just done) . Enlighten me please :)

Yep oz if you train earlier you wont get the kink I've had to create so less stress for your girls. That sounds ok to me on the pot depth, not sure on the clay pebbles at bottom? I got shouted at by Doc Bud for putting stones at bottom of my medium. (I know it aint the same lol) If your coco guys with experience such as cultivator say that a good idea then yep all sounds good. :)

Light addict, your a living sculpture. Too cool, I've seen some cool stuff with tying down but nothing like this reps brother.
So you got yelled at huh? I've put pebbles, rocks, broken pieces of concrete in the bottoms of containers without ever noticing a single problem. I did it and do it to slow down the run off or to keep the medium from falling out of a pot, esp. If its kinda beat up. Hydroton works fantastic at the bottom of my containers with the cubes. Not sure why u shouldn't, maybe im wrong? Someone is:)
Have a great weekend and keep em tied down my plant bondage buddy lol

You could use selective defol and the pinching technique to give you off set limb ends if that's what your after OZ. Its quite simple, I'm just gonna have my limbs long enough to fan out to get the room required for the buds

I think this an area I'm going to need help on when the time comes mate lol. Basically the pot width will allow for around 7" either side of centre. So I would like to get a 7" node, then a 3.5", 7", 3.5" etc.... I,i,I,i,I,i...... sort of lay out lol :)

Shit LA, that's a piece of art! Infinite kudos and brilliant buddage your ways!

I've added about an inch thick layer of leca balls in my bucket, and it's working wonders. The soil is also mixed with lecas and I've never had a problem with drainage. Except for the fact that the holes I drilled are bigger than the lecas so they drain themselves sometime ;)
