Light Addict Tries To Get Grafting - Target Of One Mom With 15 Strains!

OK my green family :)

Were now gonna move things along some! Grafting seems to be well easy once you follow the basics of good clean cuts, good matching of limbs and a humidity tent over the cut, do this and grafting is simple!
So now we move onwards to trying some flowering grafts onto a non flowering girl for monster cropped limbs :)
I'm also gonna do some young plant grafts! Basically anything anyone can think of for fun just post it and if it can be done I'll give it a whirl lol.

My biggest issue is not having a good flux base for a stock or I'd already be going for 20 strains on her! :)

Mmmmmm...sciencey.....

This is some thing I would love to try ,, Basically you sysay to use Plumbing tape for holding her on then clean cuts an good sizing will be the way to ge:thumb:with a dome over each graft ,, so in effect I could have my Sativa an Indica on the same girl :high-five:
Did you also use Clone powder or some stimulant? Great information Guru Ji thanks :circle-of-love:

Interesting project, Light Addict. I probably would have used a female base stock because I have seen plants produce flowers under a vegetative light schedule before and with my luck, I'd manage to miss one and end up carrying pollen into the flower room. But I am quite familiar with having to work with what one has on hand, lol, so I understand. I wish you success in creating your "all-in-one" mother plant.

Crazy ideas like trying to graft an auto limb onto your stock?

I just stumbled into this thread and that was the same idea that I thought of. But then I thought, "Between the recovery time and the limited lifetime of auto-flowering strains, it probably wouldn't be a very productive experiment," lol. Besides, it is probably pretty easy to stick an entire auto-flower plant in the vegetative room.

Now... One of the larger, more productive auto-flowering strains such as I have read Dutch Passion's Think Different is, with a regular female branch grafted on to it, and grown outside under conditions that were conducive to maximum growth/size... might be something to try for. Get a relatively quick harvest by picking all the mature (auto-flowered) buds off, then return to harvest the photoperiod part at the regular time. IDK if it would be any more productive - or even convenient - than simply growing one of each plant, but it'd be an interesting thing to have, I suppose.

:nomo:

Oh and as I'm a gluten for punishment, I'm gonna do another daft project! I fancy doing a bud sculpture :) so I'll pick a youngish female and cut it back and graft 2 other strains on, one each side and leave the center for the host. Then I'll sculpt 420 out of the 3 separate strains off one girl and flower out for a proper bud 420! Hopefully really different looking buds to aid the whole thing! :)

I get bored to easy :)

Hey ,Hoz :)
I can't help myself lol. I've got 3 main grafting plans and then just a wave of 6-8 autos coming and a wave of 9 fluxes and also the DeathStar build, oh and my try at wrapping the plant in itself type training lol :)
No idea where I'll find the room or time but if I'm not messing with something newish I'm losing drive or my passion?! ;)

LA! Us mad scientist types are always up to something different, otherwise life becomes boring. I took my outdoor P-ROC down today after finding a couple more caterpillars. I washed the buds, trimmed them a bit, washed them again, and manicured the buds on the stems. It took a couple hours but I am happy with the product. If I had to guess I will end up with a cured weight of about 3 to 4 ounces. Life is good to me on my 66th birthday :cheesygrinsmiley:
After taking two plants down I still have 5 outdoors in bloom, 9 waiting to be transplanted, 5 tops from the P-ROC bottom stems I cleaned in the cloner, 4 plants in hydro, and my OG Kush auto/fem experiment under my little LED light, but other than that I am pretty bored
