Lexort's Kaneh Bosm CFL Garden

I used to defoliate like a maniac after messing up the leaves with some deficiency or whatever.

Now I see it this way > if the leaf is attached to a growing tip that is still small, less than 1/2 inch I guess, then I leave it.

That goes for veg. Don't pluck too many leaves off in one day and don't do a few every day.

Flower Time is different. Pluck leaves then, and play Russian Roulette with yield.

This plant below has been plucked but not too much.
It is still in veg. Vlad's Horizontal LST

Nice looking plant vlad! Interesting view on plucking leaves and ya I figured not too good to pluck too many leaves in flower but does it really reduce yield but ive read elsewhere it can be beneficial so i haven't been sure which side the fence im on yet lol.

Well small little update for everyone one of the cuttings i took is showing roots so it will be put into a perlite hempy and thrown into the flowering box. My little hempy clone in veg is looking better so i took a couple pictures of that for y'all

I've been in the middle of discovering that removing leaf mass in clone is a good thing.
I've been cutting parts of leaves off that are discolored in any way. Been removing larger leaves all together.
I think the clones benefit from having to support less leaf mass.
Others have pointed the way for me... nothing I personally discovered... but it sure seems to be working better for me if I pull out all the large or discolored stuff.

So you would recommend cutting off the yellowing leaves on that hempy clone? This early? Or do you mean when taking cuttings cut off most the leaves?

Picture of my bong lol

Hey lex, I was planning on reading start to finish them subbing up but I had to stop her at the Gatorade bottle bong and comment lol, takes me back, way back, used to build these for people in school cuz they hit so hard haha made my permanent one with huge hawaiian punch bottles. Now I'm boring just a glass piece. Anyway subbed. Back to catch it up

Hey friend thanks for coming by and subbin as well. Ya i always was building bongs and pipes then everyone that I smoked with kept asking to buy my pieces so i was always making new ones to replace the ones people bought off me lol funny thing was they literally cost me nothing to make since I just used what I had on hand lol. I still have that Gatorade bong but i have since bought my first glass bong lol. Thanks for taking the time to read through my journal! Once again welcome and don't hesitate to ask questions or throw out ideas or what not lol.

Just planted 2 rooted clones into hempys and they were just put into the flowering box. This is more or less a reminder for myself lol.

Just back tracking to your question a few posts ago,
Plants keep an equilibrium between root mass and canopy size. If you get root rot for ex. and have a huge plant, the only thing you could do is also trim the canopy to help the reduced root size compensate.
Damaged leaves never recover.
Plants in deficiency like clones trying to grow roots can benefit from leaving leaf in place as food
If you have a super healthy plant, tucking the leaves is a better idea. The buds don't have means to collect as much energy to make sugar as the fans have.
People feeding too much Nitrogen during flower will have a ton of leaf and will start plucking out of frustration.
I am experimenting with feeding just enough N to get by and maintain leaf health during flower and flush at 8 weeks

So your working on something similar in theory to the lucas formula? I mean from what I read on that it provides just enough nitrogen or atleast is suppose to. What are you using vlad?

Just as another note for myself and also a explanation as to why i haven't updated recently enough i been planting more clones 4 to be exact just waiting on two more

Alright so i have a decent sized update i have some pictures from veg and flowering. My troubled plant in veg will be getting hit with a decent dose of nitrogen once it drys out from the flush a day or two ago so we will see if i can bring it back from its rough shape. I have some freshly rooted clones chilling temporarily in the veg box till i harvest the oldest plant in flower which should be soonish. On to the good stuff.

I figured out that my flowering box could 15 2-liter hempys for my sog plan so im excited to get that rolling. On a side note this current harvest that is drying is kinda a special one for me because it's the first time I have harvested close to my birthday lol i know its silly lol.

Little note for myself, i put the clones that were in the middle of the flowering box in there on 11/08/15
