Lexort's Kaneh Bosm CFL Garden

Ah yes. Problems in progress. :thumb: got lots of those myself.
The pool ph+ isn't labelled as lye though that's generally what it is. I just mentioned it as it is more readily available sometimes than the grow store variety. At least it is for me. And may or may not work better than bakif soda, I don't know. I have heard of people burning their plants with baking soda but presumably they used too much...

Ya well i would be willing to bet they did use to much cause i can have a ph of 5.2 then add a shallow 1/8tsp of baking soda and my ph will go to 6.8 easily and then i have to add quite a bit of vinegar to bring it down. I mean I don't use alot of vinegar but it feels like alot when you are adding 1/8tsp then test and repeat til it comes down which would be like 6-8 repeats lol.

O ya so help you god that ya dont lower it too much and have to add more baking soda and hope you don't overshoot again lol

On a quick side note i wanna say im not really trying to push religion on anyone i just like history alot and I had stumbled upon this topic in research i had been doing awhile back and i kinda got amused by the idea that our plant could be responsible for a couple religions existence lol. Another example is jesus using the holy oil to cure the blind, hmmmm sounds like glaucoma to me lol. Just think of the possibilitys and what this truly means for religions that have turned their backs on this wonderful plant.... O well their loss lol. Sorry im pretty medicated dont mind me lol

Yes it can be tricky. That's why I like to water it down. Adjusting a five or ten gallon bucket is easy enough - though I screw that up too. But ph'ing a smaller amount can be a real gong show. I don't think it does wonders for the stability of the finished mix, by the time I've overshot the mark both ways a couple times. By then I generally toss it out and start over.

Oh no... not a believer and not feeling preached at one little iota.
I find the historical aspects of religious groups quite interesting... the way things develop and change over the centuries.... fascinating.
Religions do tend to record some history and pass it down over the decades fairly well... tilted in their favor of course, but that's more about humans.
I was raised Christian but i just am not sure where i stand im a logical man and its hard for me to trust and have faith, i feel like spock or data really i know it sounds weird but it's the easiest way to explain how my aspergers syndrome makes me feel. I deal in facts and possibilities and logic not so much in emotions, not to say i don't feel them cause i do i just dont wear them on the outside but anyways my point is i have always been intrigued by history WW2 is my favorite time period in history cause there was so much going on. Glad im not coming of preachy cause I dislike that myself lol.

Ya im working on getting it down. I'll get it one of these days thank you weasel for brainstorming with me what did you say you thought the drooping/yellowing problem was? It was ph rite?

I believe we boarded the same barge down the river life.
I'm currently bathroom-reading a dry, but very accurate recount of the details surrounding the battle for Stalingrad. Really dry... but SO interesting.
I'm also really intrigued by the Egyptians and their historical dance thru various deities. At one point they switched hard between multi-theism and mono-theism and then directly back... like over the course of 2 or 3 rulers. How crazy would that have been?

If you want a good read i suggest "the rise and fall of the third Reich" i read that my freshman year of high school its pretty dry though i must warn, also "the nazi doctors" is another dry but interesting read. I must admit I dont have a super extensive knowledge of the Egyptians i know a little bit here and there. I been doing quite a bit of research on different ethnobotanicals and their history and use. I do feel there are other useful plants aside from cannabis although it is still my favorite lol.

Hmmm only thing i can think of is maybe sacrament lol not sure o i suppose witchcraft lol

Ha no problem lol, one side note for ya a ethnobotanical that I recall being used by the Egyptians is blue lotus you should read up on it good stuff.

Besides overwatering, and we're definitely past discussing that now :), drooping and purple stems would be most often associated with a phosphorus deficiency. In hydro (that's us) phosphorus won't uptake well at a ph above 6.2. Of course, some other things won't uptake well either and it quickly turns into an indecipherable mess of intertwined deficiencies. And also of course, I don't 100% know what I'm talking about and am mostly just thinking out loud and airing stuff in the hopes of puzzling things out. I do think that if our ph gets above 6.2 we are probably going to have problems. I do anyway.

Ph ph ph. All I ever talk about is ph.... phuck...

I've got some of that blue lotus. It's fun sometimes

Hmmm would phosphorus deficiency lead to yellowing of the older leaves though? If it does that would make sense in my case cause i know ph will drift a little and i hadbeen shooting to put it at 6.0 for the longest time. Ya blue lotus is good although my preference would be Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds synergizes with cannabis very well lol.

Yes apparently it can. I do get some yellowing along with other problems when I get what I think is phosphorus def. If you look at that chart I sent you at one point, out of the 8 nutrients on the chart,5 or 6 of them are inaccessible by the time you get much above 6.1 ph. These elements are interconnected and rely on each other to work, so things get very complex in a hurry. Keep in mind I don't know exactly what I'm talking about. Safest to just work on keeping the ph in check and save headaches.
