Lexort's Kaneh Bosm CFL Garden

Well the strips themselves are a little warm way less warm then a cfl i could actually hold these in my hand, the power supply stays cool to the touch the connecting wires are cool as well, from the intensity of the light it seems good for what they are, now without seeing them in the flowering box yet i can only guess that it will pretty much be supplemental lighting as im darn sure you couldn't get by with these alone unless you have alot of them. I'll take a picture of them in a few mins but i wont be able to put them in the flowering box for like 5-6 hours from now.

Not much roughly 28 USD. So i dont expect alot out of them but its more a experiment then anything.

There was somebody in here growing with led Christmas lights at one point. I don't know how well it went, I've lost track of the thread, but it seemed to be working. I can go to the thrift store most days and get boxes of those things in whichever colors I want, for a couple dollars.

Not sure site i got them from claims 900lumens all together lol thats why its a experiment as well lol what i do know is they are 5w per strip and the strips are 0.5m long each and there a 5 strips,Wavelength band range: blue light of 445nm / red light of 660nm

Heres what they look like im just waiting for lights on time to put them in

Couldnt get them to all face the camera

Well before you do just know that I dont even have any guarantee i can give you that they work as im just taking a leap of faith by trying them myself lol you been warned lol

Someones got a toy.... :cheer:

Very flexible light option... You can mount that practically anyway you want.. Bonus..

Not top of the range chips, but should help you out on lower areas... Will be good to see the results... If we didnt experiment, we would never advance... Worth a try aint it...

Ive seen similar on a well known auction site

Good luck with the install

:high-five:

Ya thanks BW im just waiting for the lights to come on lol like roughly 4 hours left lol

O and if it means anything to anyone these lights say they are "5050SMD" whatever that means im not super knowledgeable about leds lol

This would be ideal for a micro grow box, like for clones or sprouts. When I finish building my final perpetual grow room I will have a compartment for my sprouts and clones. I'm seriously considering these LED strip lights to help with the power consumption and heat. My Veg compartment will be CFL's and possibly one of these LED for supplemental lighting and heat. However, the flower room i'm not really sure if I would use this because I'm planning on a 400-600 HPS and I think that would be enough. Your garden looks great Lex, let us know about the Gatorade bottle. I was thinking of using a 32 oz greek yogurt tub for one of the plants because right now I'm only going to grow 1 bigger plant and 3 smaller ones. I'm keeping the 3 small as an added yield and I would love to learn how to keep them smaller.

P.S Thanks for the warning. lol I'll keep an eye on your results before making an educated decision. I think he has a point, you sure your safe in there with that on wall like that?

Ya i spent a good while trying to purposely get electrocuted before installing them and after installing them i also was monitoring heat and i also was making sure that my timer coming on and off wouldn't cause a power surge or anything, im happy to report that I didn't get electrocuted nor did they cause a spike in heat you can't even tell that they add any heat, my box isn't conducting electricity, and no problems caused by the timer. I appreciate your guys concerns trust me I had the same worries however i always play it safe i can't afford to start a fire. Mello if you got any questions about keeping plants small don't hesitate to ask i like growing little bonsai cannabis plants, to put it simply it's a mix of restricting root space growing in soil less mediums and lst'ing early and often also keeping veg time to a minimum. After space frees up in the flowering box im gonna go in a different direction to just get more out of my little bit of space.
