I have a question: how do you pollenated a single branch and not have it pollenated the room? Fans etc? Do

I personally use a small paint brush...hit each bud site, on a single branch I've marked
Turn off all fans....
Let sit for 48hrs ish
Then mist the entire plant and area
Usually have good luck.. some occasional spunk spray...but not too much
I've heard of folks doing the paint brush thing and covering that branch with a baggie for a few days. It usually stays put where you put it if using a brush, unless you have direct air movement on it like a fan pointed right at it. I've only done the one branch thing with a small paint brush (for painting fine parts on models size) once and I didn't do anything special and only had seeds where I put it, but might have been a fluke or something too so not guaranteed to work if you do nothing different than normal
Yes he saying after 48 hours to have it not spread, it pollinates pretty much on contact and can't reverse it once it does (like us humans
) so once it hits it has started the seed process.
I just finished 4 SSH from mns and woooooooweeee! Top shelf imo. I popped five, 1 died and the other 4 were girls but I wanted a Male just to do what your doing. Had one real nice pheno. Cant go wrong with mns. Hope u get a pile o beans.
Also a SSH x GTH would be a sure winner. Have grown both and extremely happy with the buddage. Not the best yield but quality is 2nd to none.

I just use a small paint brush to deposit pollen right to the branch I want pollinated. You really need to cover the rest of the plant to do this best.
When I do a whole plant I keep them by themselves for a couple days. When I just do a branch I don't worry about it to much as there is not a lot of excess pollen.

Someone mentioned water. Water does kill pollen. I plan to try and use that to my advantage. I think I will keep a spray bottle by the male tent. I can then spray stuff down before and after I am in the male tent.
I don't plan to save the male to see how it finishes. All I need is for them to put out a bit of pollen. I am not going to risk my meds to a bunch of seeds. That is the first road block in my future plans. If I am going to do this in the future I am going to need to find a place to finish males.
My thoughts might change a bit on males. The plant with slightly wider fingers on the leaves "Bob" may have a better mix of the parent genetics. Maybe Nicholas Flamel has some input on the female phenotype's he had.

Great to find someone with experience with Mr Nice SSH. What can you tell me about stretch?
From what I saw before I repotted. It looks Like SSH is going to be a heavy feeder. Is that what you found?
Any info you can give me on the grow part would be helpful.
Stretch wasn't too bad, less than expected but they did get topped 2xs. Out of the 4 girls I had 2 were taller, one with fat buds and one skinny buds. The other 2 were shorter with more dense nuggets. My favorite was the shorter pheno 3, she was sticky and smelly as hell and covered with trichs. I only vegged around a month so yield was small but exceptional quality. They were heavy feeders like yours. Gave about 25% more then recommended and had a little tip burn.

Thanks for the info. That gave them a few more days of veg. I can handle them doubling in size. 3 x would be a bit to much. I do have a back row that is away from the light that will help.
One question. Did you notice differences in the leaves of the short pheno? I am still looking for info that might help me choose the right male. It sounds like what I may be looking for. Mostly for the tighter bud formations. It also looked like it formed nice buds lower in on the plant. I have seen sativas go both ways when it comes to bud formation lower on the plant. Some make nice hard buds with little light. While other that get plenty of light have wispy buds if they are not in the top 1 ft of the canopy.
You are it on people that have grown this strain before. More may show up but till then you are all the info I have. Glad to have you along!

Yea not too many people grow this strain. Just not the cool kid right now I guess lol. Doesnt have 30% thc either but there is more to a good buzz then thc alone. If you pop an 18 pack of mns SSH regs you will get a few keepers. They have lots of ssh forums over ther u might want to check out. Also mns has auctions and you can get some good deals.
No where close to 3xs stretch on anything I grew. The lower buds are dense for a sativa dom but I cleaned out the very bottom like all of us do.

I will have to do more checking. I think you are saying they have grow forums at the Mr Nice wed site. Or in the UK either way I will look around.
I am still liking everything I am seeing from the SSH plants. Male and female.
No major changes in the flowering males yet. Nuds are just a bit bigger. I am sure both are males now because of this. It has only been a few days. It does look like they are stretching a bit now. Any formations of male pods will probably come after stretch.
Between the info I got from Nicholas and what I am seeing from the males. I am going to get to grow the females for a while longer before flowering. I hope this will give me the time I need to have pollen ready for the females when they start to flower.
Another thing to mention. I like to try and pollinate females really early so they have plenty of time to finish seeds. This way I can harvest buds to smoke at the same time as I get my seeds. I can keep the seeded branches on the plant and let them grow longer if need be. I have not had to do that yet. For SSH hybrids I may have to do it if the males flower later than I planned.
