Let's Go Summer Grow - Experimenting With My Own Crossbreeding - Summer Sativas

Hasn't been easy keeping the plants 100% happy but they are doing good, water consumption seems to be raising. Lets start with the Chemdawg she is looking really full of buds, like 99.99% of the plant is female but I have found a couple of male stamens popping out the forming buds, you could see the stamens sticking out of one the colas, I plucked that out of there. Very high maintenance plant gotta keep a close eye to avoid self-pollination. The Bc Mango also showing a lot of bud formation, the bud structure is looking really interesting. If she is anything like the previous phenos she is going to foxtail some crazy airy looking buds. The other Bc Mango pheno has a more compact look.
The Jamaican sativas are starting to show more and more pistils, leaves seem to be slightly improving but still something is lacking... The taller Jamaican pheno (1st generation fem.) is really on a stretch phase, all the top growth is taking off. The smaller pheno (regular) has improved a lot and is preflowering.
The Brainstorm pheno is bigger and bigger but its a little headache, while the new growth is shinny green some of the old leaves are showing signs of not been really happy about something.

Photoperiod: 13:30on/10:30off
RH%: 60-70
Temp: 20-25 Celsius
Watered with 2 litres plain water.

The results of todays inspection.

Im really optimistic about these two phenos they have a very interesting bud structure. The only problem is the hermie traits still present but they are expressed in a very peculiar manner. The Chemdawg had previously shown some stamens on the top, now I found some new ones at a very low branch. They are sharing the same bud, pistils and stamens side by side, crazy stuff. The Chemdawg pheno is forming some very nice buds but I have to be on top if I want to keep it sinsemilla.
The Bc Mango pheno is doing her thing, more stable showing slim to none stamens, exhibits a crazy bud structure. Cant wait to see this one on harvest day. The smaller Bc Mango is not looking good, seems only the main top is showing pistils while the rest of the plant seems to be pointing towards male stamens. Sad but true.

Quick Update.

Watered using plant food 4-26-26 and molasses, adjusted photoperiod 30 mins less now lights 13on/11off. And took some photos of the flowers.

Got to do some work on the garden, some defol was done, watered and a big big inspection getting those stamens out the way. Chemdawg pheno is getting bigger and bigger while the Jamaican and brainstorm phenos are just reaching the sky :tokin:

Bc mangos phenos were my main concern this time, the taller pheno (very wild bud structure pheno) I went thru from top to bottom like a scanner looking for unwanted balls and nanners, did some defol and finally let her free of the training. The smaller pheno since the plant had the worst traits (insane hermie I dont want to deal with) I decided to experiment with it. Cut all the flower tops and the main cola and I want to wait and see what the plant grows back. I did a concentrate/infusion with all the tops I cut off the plant.

Things are looking very promising in terms of yield and potency, the plants are looking really good despite some parts that never seemed to fully recover from the previous deficiency problems early in the grow. The photoperiod remains at 13/11 and the temperatures are getting colder around here so the conditions are set for a nice bloom.

Photoperiod changes another 30 mins less now down to 12:30on/11:30off. Now all the phenos are full in flower, just plain water this time and inspection day to day. Dont mind the pink colors it's the LED and lighting reflecting on the pistils. Looking at the BC mango pheno bud structure is got me researching what strains have this type of look and the closest thing are these plants called Heirloom strains (example Dr. Grinspoon).

My only hope for this pheno is that all those calyx start swelling and explode with trichomes. She really smells sweet!.

Girls are in the race to bloom as photoperiod changes again losing 30 mins now at 12/12, temperatures are dropping around here between 15-20 celsius average. Slightly less deficient looking plants they have been showing progress constantly. Still doing day to day inspection to make sure nothing is gonna spoil the harvest. fingers crossed.

Looking lush Danish, are you solely using cfls? A few of those buds are huge, but some are straggly. Do some get better light than others? Either way things are budding up around there. Keep up the good work Danish,

KIG :green_heart:cheers

I have 2 x 360w LED panels full spectrum (but right now I have them on bloom so its more red) also I have 2 UV light bulbs.
Yeah I agree that some buds have more meat than others. Since these are all seeds that I have been crossing (experimenting), Im probably going to find a lot of phenos that are not good until you know you find that one pheno that stands out.

:thanks:

After almost 2 weeks of cure this is a sample from the Chemdawg pheno. She turned out to be not as strong as I thought, it has a mild high mostly head, uplifting/activating but not trippie at all, nice smoke to get things done. Smells earthy with hints of pine, hints of leather, no citrus flavor but when grind has a sweet spice aroma very sweet, burns very well. The buds came out more airy than they looked at the time of harvest I only got a half oz of dry buds. This particular pheno showed some hermie traits but then again I almost killed the plant early in the grow.
