Lemon Paradise's Little Garden - Perpetual

thanks pres... lol,, that is funny,, I may have to do that..lol

on the bud rot,, is that from humidity.. (it is too high right now in the flower room,, we are workig on it)

I also tell my buddy to not mist the girls in flower,, but he insists on misting every morning when the lights come on,,, could that have been the cause of the bud rot (if that is what it is?)

Humidty is the culprit stop misting around week five promotes humidity and bud mold. Also make sure to keep exhaust fan runnin 24/7 if you have no dehumidifier. Usually the last two weeks are the ones i find also keep circulation fan running hope this helps Herb :) BC

Is your humidity on the high side right now, Ha, well I would expect it to be with all that bud in there. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Misting can definitely help trap moisture, but as Propa stated "they transpire out not in". Your best defensive may be to either control the humidity or possibly do some selective trimming of leaves in the dense areas to allow more air.

Thanks BC... we do keep the exhaust fan and circulation fan running 24/7,,

the local hydro shop has a eva-dry thing.. for 35 bucks

Eva-Dry dehumidifiers get damaging moisture out of the air of closets, cabinets, safes, darkrooms, boats, RVs - almost anywhere. These renewable units are filled with silica gel, a substance with a lot of absorption power. These odorless silica beads absorb many times their weight in moisture, locking it in so water can't leak or spill out. When the Eva-Dry is "full," users can renew the silica inside by simply plugging the unit into any power outlet, where it produces just enough heat to gently release the water vapor over the course of a few hours. When the indicator is blue again, it's ready to go back to work. The process can be repeated for up to 10 years! The E-500 is recommended for rooms up to 500 sq ft, and should be plugged in every 20-30 days

has anyone used this? does it work,, or would I be better off just getting a real dehumidifier?

Idont think it could handle the amount of moisture coming from a room full of budding transpiring plants.I would get the dehumidfier not cheap but worth it weight in dry buds LOL Just my humble opinion .BC

Hey zen, I don't mean to contradict BC but I always heard to stop misting when you start flowering. Also, doing it at lights on can promote burning of leaves because the water drops act as a magnifying glass. And on the dehumidifier, if you are looking for a cheap one try craigslist. I would be wary of used equipment but if it runs it should work.

The girls look tasty as hell! :welldone: :peace:

So, we have been using the Terra Canna soil, but my friend thinks it is just overpriced,,, blah,,, so he wants to cut the soil with MG...

You know HerbZ, sometimes you just have to give a fellow enough hemp ... rope ... to let him hang his self. And if that doesn't work, I love the switcheroo idea.:)

Dem's some tasty looking buds!

The debate on MG soil is still raging, most say it sucks but many growers who "don't know any better" have good results. Maybe you should do a side by side comparison. I'm not saying MG is good but I see some nice buds grown in it. I know a guy that swears by it and he has the best bud around here.:peace:

Not a bad idea 420Warrior :bravo:... yes, let's put this one to bed. Maybe one can use clones from the same mother.

I grew with MG, and NEVER had a single issue with it.

But I recently found out that the PH of my tap water ranges from 6.6 to 6.0. So that may have helped.

I even used Miracle Grow Patio Plant Food. But, I put it 1/4 strength in a spray bottle, and only sprayed the soil until it was damp.

I tended to overwater my plants when they were in Vegging state. So that may have flushed out some of the Nutes. Then I put in aqua globes because I was watering too much. It helped.

You seen my girls, they did very good for my lighting, not testing ph and using MG soil and Nutes. I guess it all depends on the grower. *shrug*

Looks great Zen! Sorry about the rot. How much was the Bubble Berry yield from the 2 plants overall?
WE are both low on smoke,, so we took one, a week early,, and also because we saw the browning, and was worried about it spreading..

and I forgot to wet weigh it (I keep doing that)

Thanks warrior,, I keep trying to say that to him as well... I will keep at it..lol

yup.. these three we potted last night,, the three bubble/mystery clones all went into 50/50 mix,, so we will see how it goes... it does look yummy,, I keep calling it blueberry instead of bubbleberry because of the blue tint.. we took a small branch 3 days ago,, still not dry enough to smoke,, it is some very dense/heavy bud...

I read a few journals and they were blamin the MG for all the ills,,, who knows.. I don't think it will be that bad,, well I hope not anyways..

I have seen a few for about a 150.00 at home depot,, so I just may bite the bullet..

:thanks: everyone.

might be a good idea... but at least I will get an idea of how they are going with the three newones,, comparing them to the bubble already in the room

you did very good,, I think the attentiveness of the grower has much to do with it as well... we will see :)

I'm actually quite pleased with the MG results in my 2nd grow. Wouldn't start the plants in it though. Transplanted in 2nd month of veg to get ready for flower. So far so good. Using Poland Spring water cuz its free and occasional tap (after evaporating chlorine of course).

quick update,,, well, some bad news. After looking the other bubbleberry over, we noticed that the main cola had some rot as well, so, down it came.

The good news is,,, after trying to get him to stop spraying, repeatedly,, now, that he has experienced bud rot first hand, and after explaining that the high humidity, and spraying, which also raises the humidity, was the cause.... So, he now sees the problem created, and will stop misting in the morning,,

This plant was aslo our 'set and forget' plant,, never had an issue, and kinda negleted it... shame on us. We were paying close attention to the g13 to get rid of male flowers, that we barely was giving these a once over... and we paid the price.

Luckily, there were only about 4 spots on one plant, and 2 on the other that had it, so I think we were able to catch it in time, so I consider myself lucky. We only ended up being about a week early, and trichs had a scattering of amber,, so it should be fine...

Our next adjustment to the room, I think will involve airflow. Since we only have a 2 inch PVC pipe letting in air, I think it is too restrictive, and if we are able to open it up to a 4 or 6 inch pipe/duct, I think (hope) the extra circulation will lower the humidity to an acceptable level,,,

if not,, then we will need to get the dehumidifier...

Well, it looks like it is going to be a busy day for me today at work. So I probably will not get to spend much time online today... bummer.. I hate it whan I actually have to work... lol

so,, a quick update, with the better,, but still crappy, camera...

I really need a new camera... this one really sucks when I try to get any type of close up..

next good (10mp+) that I see on woot,, I will have to get..lol

Your g-13 is looking mighty good and close. Sorry about the bud rot, I just found a small spot on one of mine yesterday as well...

Such a kick in the dink isn't it. :grinjoint:

HZ sorry to hear about the bits of bud rot, at least you caught it early! Hopefully your increased airflow will help, sounds like it should.

My camera is 7.1 MP and it does an alright job. A 10+ MP camera would romp, the trichs on one of those would look amazing im sure. Have fun at work and thanks for the help identifying my female :)
