Nice very nice I would love to give LED ago
Hi Jaga, hope your having a great day. Money permitting, you should get an LED light when you get to your new home or the next time you need to replace you bulb, don't, get an LED light instead..
Extra hours of dark shouldn't hurt during flower, but as mcloadie said any light can break the flower cycle, even dim light from a torch.
If they had over 12 hours of dark (you think 35h?) then fire away with the torch, this won't hurt - it's only if they haven't had at least 12h of constant darkness that interrupting with lighht hurts. So if the lights failed to come on and the night wasn't interrupted until you turned on the torch all should be good, though it may have been worth not bothering with the torch and just turning the lights on and resetting your light cycle so it came on for 12h - I'm not sure how an extended dark period, short burst of light, and then continued dark until lights come on as per the original cycle would affect things, as opposed to extended dark followed by return to 12h light, 12h dark.
If you do need to check during the dark period then use green light (you can buy cheap green bulbs easily, these are fine) - plants can't absorb green light so this won't interrupt the dark cycle.
the lights were off for about 23 hours straight til i showed up and let the smallest amount of light possible into the closet. If it was lighter than a full moon it certainly wasn't by much. I had to check the roots and swap out the ice packs then closed the doors. I reset the timers to original time cycle it was on to match up with my other closet, and the lights should have come on this morning for their normal 12 hour cycle. So in all, other than the 2 mins I had the very shaded flashlight on the area of the girls to check everything out, they were in the dark for about 35 hours. They better be alright, all the work i've put into it, its these freak summer storms that pass in the middle of the night that cause the power surges, its not even enough to reset the clocks most of the time but what can you do, the storms will stop as soon as fall arrives and the heat of the summer turns cold.
Sweet pics in your last update friend. Those new little leaves coming out looked perfect. Your thumb is so green it looks almost blue or black! Keep up the great work. +reps!
Thanks Rainstacks, I've been growing with . lol
I'm actually surprised how easy it is to maintain this grow (other than the freakin power outages in the closet) now that they are fairly large plants, the hardest was when they were seedlings, they are so vulnerable. Now I'm pretty much just topping off water supplies and changing the reservoirs every 7-10 days and the plants are doing their own thing. Updates and new pics tomorrow night, I'm really hoping to see some pistils, it will be day 11 of flower.
