LED Trinity Grow - Round 1

My 420th post!!! light em up!!
I was listening to talk radio yesterday while working, and there is a big hub-bub about Justin Trudeau, leader of the Liberal party of Canada, and our next Prime Minister hopefully, admitting to reporters to smoking pot as a sitting MP in the house of Commons, when they asked him. The host of the radio show kept asking people to call in and give opinions, but whenever a pro-legalize caller called in, the host would pretty much cut them off when they were talking, prove his own (the hosts) point, and then say "thanks for calling" and hang up on them. I was getting very frustrated listening to all the people calling in with mis-information. The Government and DEA have done their job well. So many people believe that pot is a gateway drug, that its deadly, and worse than cigarettes and alcohol.
I could care less If my Prime Minister smokes pot to unwind after a long day of running my beautiful country, In fact I would rather he do that, than have a "drink". As long as the country is being run effectively and our economy is under control, people have jobs, kids can get an education etc.. smoke away. If the talk continues into next week on the talk shows, which I'm sure it will, I think I'm gonna call in, not to argue with the host about legalizing, cause that won't work with him, he'll just hang up. I'm just going to ask that people educate themselves before they start spewing "facts". Don't just regurgitate the same old info you've always heard, or assumed was right. Open a book, google the topic, check out some youtube video's...educate yourself. The information is out there, you just have to look for 2 seconds and you'll have tons of info. Then I'LL hang up on the host. lol

Welcome to the party Planet, thanks for the compliments and glad you made it. I have a bean bag with your name on it buddy, but don't you have your DWC setup to build, get to work man!!! :)
 
A big Thank you to Doc Bud for giving me this "Bud wash" recipe. Copied the post into my own Journal so I can find it again when its time. :)

You'll need 3 buckets....I like one to be white, but it makes no difference.

Mix 1 cup lemon juice and 1 1/2 cups baking soda into 5 gallons of RO in the white bucket.
Fill the next two buckets with straight RO.

Harvest the plant, pull off fan leave and large leaves, keep sugar leaves intact on the buds. Cut into manageble cola's...hooks for hanging, whatever your preference.

Dip buds under the lemonjuice/baking soda bucket and gently agitate up and down, back and forth, etc for 30 seconds.
Do the same in the next two bucket.....hang and dry.

The manicure trim will yield washed, pristine trim.....PERFECT for rolling joints or making hash. The buds are really nice and the flavor is un-matched.

Hi everyone. ;)

Time for my 2 day update again, Day 8 of flower for my Master kush and White Widow. Everything is dialed in now, Closets been unsupervised for 2 days now and PH didn't budge, stayed firm at 5.8, PPM went up obviously, but PH is steady as a rock now. Topped up water lvls in the reservoir tonight and spread out the tops in the screen again, I'm trying to let the Widow have some space also cause the Kush is overgrowing her. Lots of pre-flowers now all over the place, and so many tops I can't count them all, but i'd guess around 50ish. :)
The Big news for today and hopefully my secret weapon is CO2. I have about a one and a half month supply of CO2 and only about 7 weeks left in this grow so I tried to time the CO2 to help both my grows at the same time. My second grow just started 36 hours of dark right now and lights go on Tuesday morning to start the 12/12 flower cycle. My grow room is about 10x10, and the CO2 canister I have says its good for a 12x12 room, so I closed off the Air Duct with Plastic and I'm just gonna keep the door closed, and its as sealed as its gonna get. I'm also gonna switch what closet has the canister every second day, so I should help both grows at the same time. I hung the CO2 from a loose mesh bag from the top of the closet, It hangs at about middle height of the closet, just above the plants.

Today's Stats
Day 8 of flower.
PPM=1030
PH=5.8
Water Temp=69.5F and dropping cause just added new Ice pack.
Air Temp=84F
RH=54%

That's it for tonight, and no more updates until Wednesday night this time. Like I said though, the closets are running like clockwork and I got the reservoir's PH dialed in so I think I'm more than good to leave it for 3 days, I'll still be floating around the 420 site though. I was going to wait until tomorrow night to visit my Girls but I can't wait. I'm going over this evening after I get dinner on the table and get some food in me.:)

Thanks Dooski, your grow is awesome to, I'm gonna call it King Kong Cannabis. The way you have your plant tied down reminds me of King Kong all tied down for the reveal to the public. Right before she breaks free of her chains and goes ape sh*t all over the place cause she's in flower now. lol:)
 
Hi everyone.
Well the bud Gods are smiling on me again today my friends.
I wasn't going to visit my girls tonight originally as some of you might recall, but I'm very glad I was so anxious to see my girls. When I got to my grow room My blue Mystic closet was humming away and there was some light seepage, so I could tell my lights were on, but there was a weird silence coming from the other side of the room where my Kush and White Widow closet sits. The surge protector was flipped!!!! Again..!!! only on this one closet though...??

Anyway, the lights were on last night my friend tells me, and by looking at the light timer, it thinks its 8:30 in the morning. So the plants stayed in dark an extra 11 hours, give or take 30 mins. I used a covered up flashlight with barely any visible light to check everything out, trying not to give the plants any light at all. I also took a look at the roots cause the air stones were off also but everything still looks really good, no discoloration. Flipped the surge protector and everything came bubbling to life again, except for the lights, which I left off to get all the lights back on the same cycle again.
So as best I can figure the plants will be in dark for about 35 hours give or take.

The plants are on Day 10 of flower, do any of you think this extended dark a little over a week into flower will cause damage or is it kinda like the dark period you put your plants into before flower?
No pics obviously cause the lights were off, but from what I could see the girls are doing very well. :)

A covered up flashlight is as bad as a streetlight...anything over 2 lumens, which is as bright as the moon and stars ever get will"trigger".
 
I had the flashlight covered by my hand and no light directly on the plants, just the ambient light I could get from the small flashlight, pressed into my palm . I tried to make sure It wasn't any brighter than full moon. I had no choice, I had to get everything up and running again. Hope it didn't flash my babies and turn them into hermies. :( I think they should be alright though, I was pretty careful.

Thanks Gnarled, glad to have you along for the ride, we hit a little speed bump last night but I think we good now.:)

Extra hours of dark shouldn't hurt during flower, but as mcloadie said any light can break the flower cycle, even dim light from a torch.

If they had over 12 hours of dark (you think 35h?) then fire away with the torch, this won't hurt - it's only if they haven't had at least 12h of constant darkness that interrupting with lighht hurts. So if the lights failed to come on and the night wasn't interrupted until you turned on the torch all should be good, though it may have been worth not bothering with the torch and just turning the lights on and resetting your light cycle so it came on for 12h - I'm not sure how an extended dark period, short burst of light, and then continued dark until lights come on as per the original cycle would affect things, as opposed to extended dark followed by return to 12h light, 12h dark.
If you do need to check during the dark period then use green light (you can buy cheap green bulbs easily, these are fine) - plants can't absorb green light so this won't interrupt the dark cycle.
