3 cotyledons on the Afghan Mazar. Never seen that before. Hoping it’s good luck. Off to do some research

Greetings, Joe. :ciao:

What's that mix you be growing in? Looks heavy as I don't see any perlite.
Hello azimuth thanks for stopping by, appreciate it 👊

You are correct, no perlite. I use the cheap and easy option of polystyrene from deliveries I get alongside some compost from a nice old lady who’s garden I tend (I’m in a flat/apartment) All about the renewables here 🤟👍

Polystyrene?? Is that like plastic shavings? New one on me.

Does your nice old lady have a worms in her compost pile? Those would be one of 5he best 5hings you could add I you're trying to grow organically.

Yes indeed the plastic shavings/blocks. We have a television gardener here called Monty Don. Saw it on a show years ago and been with it ever since 😂🤟 I don’t know if he knows his skills are transferable. Will wait until I see his profile here after legislation 😂

Yes and no to the worms. They’re there but not in abundance and not something I’ve planned for the grow. More about picking slugs out before I start.

Didn’t want PETA after me for keeping worms inside? 😂

On a serious note, I’m also growing shrooms. Heard someone the other day say the vermiculite cakes out if this world as a worm food and then used in soil after for castings? Bit out of my league but something I’ll look into for future

Can I use worms in 20 litre pot?

I keep a small worm farm in my basement, a series of three stacked 7 gallon (30L?) bins with another as a liquid catcher underneath. Each bin produces about half its volume in castings every couple on months or so. And I use those for lots of things.

I put worms in all my containers and I veg in 1L pots. They'll help open things up as they tunnel around and leave their famed "unicorn poop" in their wake.

Lol unicorn poo good currency in any language. I’m really grateful you’ve taken the time to comment here. Been growing a long time but from looking at your posts and threads you’re light years in front when it comes to the natural side of it. I’m always happy and eager to learn so thank you 🙏

If you're up for an experiment, I'd suggest you try the SIP container with at least one plant in your next grow. It really is amazing just how good they work for something so simple.

I don't recall seeing you in Buds Buddy's Current grow thread but it's worth the read if you've not seen it.

The dude got over a pound in his last grow with this setup in a 5 gallon (20L) bucket.
Lol I’m a paragraph into his thread. Feels like a self help seminar for indoor growers 😂🤟

Thank you again, you’ve been really helpful 👊

Several like minded growers in that one. Sometimes I feel like we're overwhelming the topic of his grow but he keeps encouraging us to continue. :laughtwo:

It's really turning into a Masterclass on the how-to's and why's of growing with this set-up. So simple but highly effective.

So just let the 9 do their thing. Haven’t had to spray as much think they’ve got through the critical first few days and look set to rock and roll

Need to edit the title of the thread. No Dr Ray-Dr Widow and 2 DsD didn’t pop up. It’s a week today since they were germinated and put in soil so not much hope.

Going to wait a few more days until they’ve got some more growth and root development and then will re-pot and move into bigger tent under the HPS.

Have got another journal coming up, will post link later here. All about my recent experiences of growing and taking Psilocybin mushrooms.

Nice mate good luck with that.
Soooo jealous 😱

The soil in those pots is giving me anxiety. :laughtwo:

Can't you add some aeration to them, like perlite or even sand? Maybe they'll grow fine but I'll be the roots would appreciate a looser soil when you up-pot. The standard recommendation is about equal thirds, peat moss, good compost, and aeration.

Lol I will show you when I re-pot 👊
